  • Alys would like to introduce you to someone.
  • A wandering minstrel has come to Revenant's Toll in search of inspiration─namely, tales of heroic feats and derring-do. Alys can think of no one better qualified to quench the traveler's thirst for tales, and urges you regale the minstrel with your greatest exploits.
  • Your words serve to satisfy the minstrel beyond measure, who at once composes a ballad of your battle with the Ultima Weapon. Alas, his penchant for exaggeration has transformed the trial into something quite unlike what you remember... ※The Minstrel's Ballad: Ultima's Bane can be accessed via the Duty Finder.
  • Using the power of your imagination, you relive the events of that fateful day in the Praetorium, as described in the minstrel's ballad. Considering how certain details differ drastically, it may behoove you to correct the minstrel's misconceptions.
  • The minstrel makes no apologies for embellishing your tale, claiming that others would have done the same in time. A valid point, to be sure, though his artistic license will only serve to hasten the process...

Objectives

  • Speak with the wandering minstrel.
  • Use the Duty Finder to confront the Ultima Weapon.
  • Speak with the wandering minstrel.

Patch2.3

Journal

  • In a place such as Revenant's Toll, information must flow along with wine. Why not linger downstream of Alys for a spell?
  • Even after moons of pensive strumming, the wandering minstrel still refuses to budge from his spot in the Seventh Heaven, ever bent on collecting the makings of a new epic. Heed Alys's counsel and speak with this gilder of lilies, for the commonfolk are in sore need of even a fool's gold.
  • You recount to the bard your foray into the lightless depths of Dalamud's Shadow, and are amazed to see the leaden horror of those hours transmuted to gold by the minstrel's gifts. The power of poetry is such that you can now relive the experience, should you so choose. ※The Second Coil of Bahamut (Savage) may be accessed via the Duty Finder.

Objectives

  • Speak with the wandering minstrel.

Journal

  • The wandering minstrel wishes to hear all about how you raged against the machine.
  • Inspired by your battle against the colossus, the minstrel launches into song once more, portraying your trials and tribulations in the Dravanian hinterlands in predictably hyperbolic fashion. Make your way along the shores of the Thaliak and discuss your recollections of the event with Redbrix.
  • Whether it be through the gift of the Echo, the power of the poet's verse, or a combination of the two, it would seem that you can now relive your exploration of Gordias. Though you are generally loath to look back, it is not impossible that stepping into the past may be of benefit to you in the future. ※Gordias (Savage) may be accessed via the Duty Finder.

Objectives

  • Speak with Redbrix in the Makers' Quarter.

Journal

  • Alys is casting pained glances at one of her regulars.
  • Alys informs you that the wandering minstrel has been desperately awaiting your return to the Seventh Heaven. Share your tales of adventure with the forlorn bard, and supply him with the inspiration he needs to craft fresh verse.
  • You regale the melancholy minstrel with the story of your exploits on Azys Lla. The bard's transformation upon hearing your tale is nothing short of miraculous, and he immediately takes up his harp. The stirring epic he composes to commemorate your triumph is flattering, but seems to suffer from some measure of embellishment... ※The Minstrel's Ballad: Thordan's Reign can be accessed via the Duty Finder.

Objectives

  • Speak with the wandering minstrel.

Patch3.2

Journal

  • The wandering minstrel craves tales of your adventures inside the steel colossus to rouse his muse once more.
  • It seems word of your recent exploits has reached Revenant's Toll, and the minstrel is desperate to hear your firsthand account. Your story moves the inspiration-starved bard to song, and he delivers a reasonably faithful retelling of your toils and triumphs within Alexander. The experience fills you with a desire to discuss the battles of your past with someone familiar. Walk along the banks of the Thaliak River and reminisce on your adventures with Lightkix.
  • For reasons you cannot well explain, it would seem you are now able to relive your foray into Midas. Peer into the past, knowing that considered retrospection can often grant valuable insight into the present─and occasionally more tangible rewards. ※Midas (Savage) can be accessed by speaking with Lightkix in the Dravanian hinterlands, as well as via the Raid Finder.

Objectives

  • Speak with Lightkix Eyesfixed.

Journal

  • Alys appears relieved by your appearance.
  • Alys informs you that the wandering minstrel is desperate to devour the tale of your latest exploit. Share your deeds with the story-starved bard before his moaning drives the Seventh Heaven's proprietress to commit murder by mutton leg.
  • You serve the ravenous minstrel with a hearty helping of heroic fare. Seemingly revived by your recounting of the battle against Nidhogg, the bard eagerly reaches for his instrument. Despite the flowery nature of his verses, he seems content with the epic depiction of your climactic encounter with the dreaded wyrm. ※The Minstrel's Ballad: Nidhogg's Rage can be accessed via the Duty Finder.

Objectives

Patch3.4

Journal

  • The wandering minstrel seeks inspiration for a new masterpiece, and believes the tale of your ultimate confrontation with the colossus might very well provide it.
  • His muse stirred by the tale of your time-traveling adventures, the minstrel bursts into song, regaling you with a dramatic retelling of your battle with the colossus─seasoned with enough hyperbole to satisfy the demands of his audience. Should you wish to relive your adventure, wander back through the hinterlands to the Makers' Quarter and speak with the lookout Snapclix.
  • For reasons nigh as inscrutable as the convolutions of time and space you experienced inside Alexander, it is as if the power of the minstrel's song has given physical form to your recollections of that final confrontation with the colossus. Whatever the explanation, you know only too well that reflecting upon the past can leave one better equipped to face the future. ※Alexander (Savage) can be accessed by speaking with Lightkix in the Dravanian hinterlands, as well as via the Duty Finder.

Objectives

  • Speak with Snapclix in the Makers' Quarter.
