  • Mogleo is looking for someone to help him catch his dream.
  • Mogleo will not let the servants of Nidhogg threaten his home any longer, and has resolved to join the Pomguard in their defense of the Churning Mists' moogles. However, not just any moogle can join the revered group of defenders. Only one whose strength is recognized by all can hope to join the elite group, and Mogleo needs your help to show that he has the mettle required to stand among such noble guardians. He plans to prove his strength by helping the many troubled moogles across the land, and promptly leaves in search of the first recipient of his kindness. Meet with Mogleo near Moghome to see if he has found a sufficiently distressed moogle.
  • Using his supermoogle sense of empathy, Mogleo has already found a moogle in dire need of his aid. Mogleo, deep in thought about what could be troubling this poor soul, bids you ask the moogle yourself.
  • It seems the troubled moogle lost track of a prized painted pebble, and guesses he may have dropped it while napping to the northeast of Moghome. Mogleo, eager to make his name as a helper of mooglekind, flits off hurriedly in that direction, bidding that you come as well. Meet with Mogleo to the northeast of Moghome to see if his search has produced aught of value.

Journal

  • Mogleo has finally found a moogle in Asah in need of help.
  • Mogleo has once again used his preternatural ability to seek out the troubled and beleaguered to find yet another moogle to help in Asah, and is eager to hear the story of his distress. Speak to the moogle and find out if there is any comfort you can give him.
  • The moogle in Asah has a tragic story to tell. He was in possession of a borrowed knife, made from the razor-sharp spine of a hulking wadjet. for reasons known not even to himself, he brought the knife on a days-long romp around the Churning Mists, at the end of which the knife was nowhere to be found. Unable to face his friend without the knife, he has decided that the only course of action is to make a new one, but he is too scared to get close enough to a pull a spine from one of the dangerous wadjets. Mogleo eagerly volunteers to get a wadjet spine in the moogle's stead, and hurries to the northeast, where the beasts are said to inhabit. Follow Mogleo and speak to him to find out what exactly his plan is.
  • Mogleo's master plan is to sneakily pull a spine from one of the wadjets while you fight it. Create a distraction and throw yourself against a wadjet's wrath so Mogleo can wrench a spine from the preoccupied beast.
  • The wadjet lies dead at your feet. Speak with Mogleo to see if he was able to obtain a wadjet spine.
  • It seems the wadjet was too slippery for Mogleo to pull off one of its spines, and he asks you to try again. Slay one more wadjet, and this time take care not to move the monster around too much.
  • Another wadjet falls before you, although you cannot tell if it has any less spines than it did before. Mogleo may indeed have had the strength to pull a spine off this time, but the only way to know is to ask him.
  • Once again the wadjet has proven too wily for Mogleo to wrench off a spine, but he assures you that they were of poor quality anyways. Go forth and slay one more wadjet, and pray that Mogleo's fingers are dextrous enough to grab a spine this time.
  • With the third, and hopefully final, wadjet dispatched, make your way back to Mogleo's perch and see if he managed to get the squeeze on the massive reptile.
  • At last, Mogleo has successfully pulled one of the wadjet's spines from its body. Speak with the moogle at Asah, who is surely waiting in anticipation at your thoughtful gift.
  • The moogle at Asah is impressed that you were able to provide an even keener spine than the one he lost, and decides that he will make an even better blade for him. with one less troubled moogle in the realm, Mogleo goes off in search of the next dilemma to solve in his crusade of kindness.

  • Mogleo has found the next lucky recipient of his kindness.

Mogleo looks eager to help, and it falls once again upon you to strike up conversation and find out what troubles this particular moogle.
  • The poor moogle at Zenith has perhaps the most heartbreaking story yet. It seems that dragons have overrun the flower bed he had been so dutifully caring over, and drove him away when he attempted to impart onto them the flowers' importance. Now, the moogle is trapped at Zenith with no way to return to Asah because the road is blocked by the selfsame dragons that invaded his flower bed. Mogleo, seeing an opportunity to help yet another desperate moogle, volunteers his protection while the heartbroken moogle makes his way home. Speak with Mogleo again, who wants to discuss the battle strategy of this next adventure with you.
  • Mogleo seems determined to take on this task alone, but also states that in the case of an actual dragon attack, your assistance would be more than welcome. Follow Mogleo and the troubled moogle as they make their way to Asah so that you may see Mogleo's courageous display of moogle strength.
  • Much to the surprise of no one at all, you find Mogleo and his charge cowering in fear before an enraged dragon. Save the moogles before they become the dragon's next meal.
  • Mogleo and the worried moogle are grateful for your rescue, and promptly continue down the road to Asah. Follow them to make sure they do not fall prey to any more of the Churning Mists' hungry dragons.
  • Once again, you arrive to find the two moogles in a difficult situation involving dragons. Intervene before their journey to Asah is cut prematurely short.
  • After you rescue the two frightened moogles, Mogleo claims that he was close to felling the dragon himself before continuing on the path towards Asah. Whether or not his boasting is true, follow the moogles to guarantee their safe arrival.
  • The two moogles have arrived safely at Asah, but Mogleo is ashamed that he was not able to dispatch the dragons himself. However, with the encouragement of the moogle he guided to Asah, he resolves to continue helping moogles until he finds the courage to overcome his fear himself.

  • It seems an encounter with a nearby tree has left the Pomguard moogle dazed, confused, and unable to move. the only thing that may possibly save him is a kupo nut. Though Mogleo is leery of the seriousness of the moogle's condition, he decides to aid him nonetheless. Speak with Mogleo to receive instructions.

Though he is glad to know the plants still survive in the scorched soil of the Four Arms, he fears for their chances of thriving. to secure their survival, he bids you collect five of the seedlings and deliver them to Moggzia, head gardener of Moghome, to be replanted in kinder climes.
  • You successfully collect five crackleweed seedlings from the Four Arms. Travel to Moghome to deliver them into Moggzia's green-fingered paws.
  • You deliver the seedlings to Moggzia, who agrees to replant them in his hilltop haven. Since Nidhogg's roar drove the dragons into a frenzy, the scalekins' wanton acts of destruction have brought much of the local flora to the brink of extinction. but as long as moogles like Moggzia are around, the plants and flowers of the Churning Mists have a fighting chance of thriving in pastures new.

Mogkul explains that Zenith stands as a symbol of the once-strong friendship between the landlords and the skylords, and is all that remains standing after Nidhogg's wrath laid waste to the land. Mogleo surmises that the dragons are not aiming to destroy the whole tower, but the object that most symbolizes it: the spire. However, he will remain behind with the rest of the scouts to continue their work until Maenne calls for them. Return to the Congregation and give Commander Handeloup the items you have collected.
  • Handeloup is pleased that the survey was completed without any major incidents, but expresses concern that transformed heretics still exist. It seems that he wants to learn more of the history and environment of the Churning Mists, so that more light can be shed on the time when dragons and mankind purportedly lived together. He asks that you act as an intermediary and use your relationship with the moogles to convince them to hear out his request. Speak with Moglin to see if he would be inclined to help the curious Ishgardians.
  • Moglin seems willing to teach the knights from Ishgard of the history of his land, on one condition: the war between mankind and dragonkind must come to an end. He sends members of the Pomguard to meet Ser Handeloup, and bids you follow them as well. Speak with Mogkul of the Pomguard once you reach the party at the Rookery.
  • You meet Ser Handeloup, Maenne, and the moogles of the Pomguard, and after a short conversation they come to an amicable agreement. Ser Handeloup will do what he can to convince the Holy See to send carpenters and stonemasons to teach the moogles how to mend the stone structures of Zenith with their own paws. in return, the moogles will share what they know about the Churning Mists. with this, mankind and mooglekind will work together and attempt to repair the damage of the past and rebuild what has been lost.

  • Obtain the observation log from the northeast scout.
  • Deliver the sealed crate and observation log to Ser Handeloup at the Congregation.
  • Speak with Moglin at Moghome.

Maenne asks you to help the scouts and bids you meet the scouting party near Sothton Walls. Speak with the southern scouting party dragoon to see what he requires.

She worries that leaving the beast be will only result in more injured dragoons, and bids you slay it before any more come to harm. She also asks that you bring something from that battle that might help identify the true nature of such a dragon. Make your way to the lower layer of the Rookery and slay the dragon if you find it.
  • You encounter the enormous dragon and slay it after a violent struggle, recovering a piece of ancient and rusty armor from its corpse. Give the armor to Maenne to see if she can glean any knowledge from it.
  • After examining the piece of armor you present to her, Maenne declares that it was forged in Ishgard, and most likely dates back to hundreds of years ago. It seems the dragon you slew was once a heretic, his monstrous form resulting from overindulging in dragon blood. • Mogule is waiting all by himself for the Twelveswood moogles.
  • Wait as Mogule might, the moogles from the Twelveswood are nowhere to be seen. He is sure that his directions to meet at the floating island among the sea of clouds were perfectly clear. However, it seems he underestimated the vastness of the landmasses above the skies, and also the clarity of his own directions, and after conferring with you realizes it may be possible the Twelveswood moogles wrongly traveled to the Sea of Clouds. Since someone has to stay behind at Moghome should the Twelveswood moogles eventually show up, Mogule bids you go to the Sea of Clouds to look for the missing moogles. Travel to Camp Cloudtop and ask its inhabitants if they know aught of a band of moogles amongst their midst.
  • After questioning the inhabitants of Camp Cloudtop, you find out that not many besides you have ever actually seen a moogle in the flesh. However, one of the knights tells you of a man named Gildon, who has been going on about “kupo” related nonsense for the past several days. Seek out Gildon near the Rosehouse and see if he has any information that may guide you in your search.
  • Gildon, grateful that someone is actually taking his rants seriously, says that he heard moogle voices near Ok' Zundu. Ask the Vanu Vanu of that tribe if they have seen anything of the fabled creatures.
  • After questioning the Vanu Vanu of Ok' Zundu, you learn little of use besides knowledge of the creatures and clouds in the area. However, one of the giant birdlike creatures tells you that a Vanu Vanu by the name of Guna Vanu has said something about whispers flitting amongst the clouds. Speak to Guna Vanu to find out what he knows.
  • Upon speaking with Guna Vanu, you find that his brother spoke of hearing unfamiliar voices from under a bridge not far from Ok' Zundu. Could these be the errant moogles? or a troll? Seek out the bridge to find out.
  • You search under the bridge and find a lost Kupli Kuki from the Twelveswood. Apparently the Twelveswood moogles misinterpreted the letter, as Mogule guessed, and came to the Sea of Clouds─an understandable mistake. Luckily, thanks to your diligent search, the Twelveswood moogles can now proceed on their way to Moghome for plenty of fun mingling.

  • Kupli Kuki is thinking about the Moghome moogles.
  • Everyone is excited to deepen the bonds between mooglekind, but Kupli Kuki wants to know more about the names of the Moghome moogles, in particular why every name starts with “Mog” and not something like “Kup.” Since Kupli Kuki seems to be particularly shy around moogles of high social standing, he enlists your aid in asking Chieftain Moglin the reason as to why the moogles from the sky and surface have different names. Ask Chieftain Moglin for what is sure to be a thrilling history lesson on the origins of Moghome names.
  • You speak with Chieftain Moglin, and he seems eager to tell you about the names of Moghome, but not before you help the Pomguard with a pair of monsters who have suddenly attacked Moghome's kupo nut supply. Speak with Mogleo of the Pomguard to find out what aid he requires.
  • Mogleo tells you that two monsters have dared to steal into Moghome's precious kupo nut supply, and asks you to aid Mogule, Kupli Kuki, and the other Twelveswood moogles in slaying the monster they have gone after. Speak with the four moogles to find out where this insatiable monster could be.
  • Mogule and the other valiant Twelveswood moogles have cornered the invasive monster to the southeast. Slay it so that Moghome's nuts are in danger no more.
  • You find that a stray gaelicat was one of the monsters trying to get its paws on the moogles' kupo nuts, and slay it before it can do any more harm to the precious nut orchard. Report back to Mogleo for an update on their progress.
  • Mogleo and the other Pomguard members were able to take care of their target as well, and with that the kupo nuts are saved. It seems that the two monsters may have followed Kupli Kuki and the other Twelveswood moogles all the way from the Sea of Clouds. Although this crisis got everyone's pom-pom in a twist, the moogles seem to have come through it with a deeper bond, and Mogleo suggests that everyone go together to report to Chieftain Moglin of your success.
  • You return to Moglin, and finally you have the opportunity to ask him about the Moghome names. While he doesn't know the exact reason that all the moogles in Moghome start with “Mog,” he informs you that the first chieftain was said to be named Moggle. Kupli Kuki fumbles around with the name for a bit before discovering that it is quite similar to Moggle Mog, and surmises that the name must have changed as the story was passed down from generation to generation in the Twelveswood. If Kupli Kuki's guess is right, then Chieftain Moglin is himself a direct descendant of Good King Moggle Mog XII, and the Pomguard are direct descendants of the Good King's household guard. Kupli Kuki is amazed that he is among such historic figures of mooglekind, although the Moghome moogles themselves do not seem very fazed at all. Mogleo finally closes this historic conversation by offering the Twelveswood moogles one kupo nut each for their previous bravery, an offer which the moogles eagerly agree to. the moogles look forward to deepening the bonds of friendship between sky and surface.

  • Speak with Mogleo.
