Final Fantasy XIII-2 has a variety of bonus downloadable content including weapons, costumes, accessories, battles and exclusive scenarios obtained by various means: by redeemable codes acquired by either pre-ordering or through special events on the official social networking sites for Final Fantasy XIII-2, such as Facebook, or by purchasing on the PlayStation Network or Xbox Games Store. The game received one or two updates for the downloadable content per month after its release until May 15, 2012, when the last downloadable bonus content was released.
On June 11, 2013, Final Fantasy XIII-2 became available on the North American and European PlayStation Network, along with the DLC bundle pack.
The combined cost of all DLC is 5440 MSP for the Xbox 360, and about $67 for PS3. The Steam version includes most of the DLC, though some content is omitted for licensing reasons, such as the Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect-themed costumes. The assets for said costumes are still in the PC files and may be modded back in.

Behind the scenes[]
Final Fantasy XIII was originally set to have downloadable content, one of which would have been the Seventh Ark. The downloadable content idea was instead rolled over to the game's sequel.
The "N7 Armor" is the only costume that shares the same design for Serah and Noel and is the first costume available that comes from a game not developed by Square Enix. Despite this, the Assassin's Creed outfit was announced before the N7 Armor.
The "Catastrophe Blade" is called the "Calamity Blade" in the Japanese release.
On March 12, 2012, Square Enix Europe confirmed that DLC from that point on would not support or include additional Xbox 360 achievements and/or PS3 trophies.
A number of costumes have undergone name changes. For example:
- "Summoner's Garb" was originally called "Evening Calm".
- "Beachwear" was originally called "Resort Style".
- "Style and Steel" was originally called "Exposure and Defense".
- "Battle Attire" was originally called "Brave the Blaze".
- "Spacetime Guardian" was originally called "The Protector of Space and Time".
- "A Wondrous Wardrobe" was originally called "Yori Dori Midori".
"Style and Steel" is the only free costume, and it was designed by AKB48 member Yuko Oshima. As a reference to this, when the player decides and presses "Download" on the costume's DLC page in PS Store, a window with the subtitle "SERAH'S COSTUME: AKB" will pop up.
Snow's DLC is the only time the player can witness every Coliseum contender during the cutscene, minus Arbiter of Time in his true form: Valfodr.
