Here's where you can nominate and vote on articles to be featured on the front page.
To nominate, simply write your nomination under the Nominees section and sign your posts. A nomination is equal to a vote, and it's one nomination per person.
To vote, simply sign with # ~~~~ under the nominees to symbolize your support. You can vote for as much as two nominees at a time. You can always change it at anytime, until the selection date.
Once a nominee is selected, we'll clear the nominees section to start a clear slate. You can nominate the same article again one month later. We call it a transition period.
You can give your Comments in the section below, but any claims of supporting a nominee does not count until you sign under the Nominees section. Take care!
Diablocon has the final say in things: he's in charge of the featured articles. Uweeheehee.

Rules:
You may only begin voting when there are at least 5 nominations up.
Whenever an article from a game is featured, it is striked off this list, meaning articles from that game can no longer be featured this year.

Hey! I have an idea! How about getting more nominees instead of disscussing the fact that there are more places in the world where it isn't freezing cold in January?- Henryacores^ 19:29, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
The reason for my initial comment was, not so much to prove the guy who nominated Shiva wrong, but show that his reason for nominating her was inadequate, seeing that many users do not go through winter (or through any mildly colder season at all) during January. Faethinverba volant

December '08 Nominees
Dissidia The game's will be out in December anyway...Maj. H
sure why not but i think it is best to do this around a month after it comes out
Red Mage - Come on people, the Red Mage kicks ass, Magic and Swords in one, the only better class is the Mystic Knight. Who doesn't love a Red Mage? Besides, look at him - he's Santa! Drake Clawfang
Chocobo - Moogles were last year. Chocobos should be this year. And I don't think we'll have any trouble finding a picture of a Chocobo with a Christmasy theme. --BlueHighwind 12:18, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Chocobos sound like a good idea to me. --HighwindAsylum 02:16, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
They're effing CHOCOBOS! They would be a cute winter-y theme.
Final Fantasy - The first FF was released in December, anyway... SilverSummoner 12:29, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Respect for something that started an important element of the series, despite how people rarely if ever do such things. PaladinCecil 17:27, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
It's the first Final Fantasy game, it IS Final Fantasy, and it all started in December. Chocobo and Red Mage can suit other months, but I think Final Fantasy really should automatically have December. Yzz 14:13, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Hohoho! Give me winter-related articles! Anything cold and snowy's good to go! Or, one related to the many holidays this month (pick one for your religion, and give a reason why you think it represents your holiday).
Ths isn't a rule, more of a request. Last year we had Moogles for December's FA, and that seemed to be a good pick for the holiday season.

Diablo, why do you treat all the games with "Final Fantasy Tactics" in their titles as separate, but not the FFVII games? I'm sure there's a good reason, just curious. And why are FFIV: The After seperate, FFX-2 seperate, Revenant Wings seperate, if they are all direct sequels too?
Diablocon - No, the question is; who art thou, ham planks? Shanks! I meant shanks TALK - 12:59, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
It's called a loophole. All the other games you've mentioned have enough new elements to make them different from their predecesors. RW is on a new continent with new characters, The After has a whole new cast of characters, X-2 added a whole job sytem...
The VII compilation? Bar one or two new characters, they're basically all the same. Featured Zach Fair one month? Alright, there goes the FFVII vote. No wait, that was for Crisis Core, this month let's all vote for The Turks as the FA. There, no more FFVII articles. No wait, that was for Before Crisis...
And so on, and so forth. Basically, not enough detinguishing elements among the FFVII games to warrent them being seperate.
BlueHighwindQ? TALK - So if you care to find me, look to the Western Sky!ツ:
Well, FFVII games are about as diverse as the sun and stars. One is a shooter, two are action RPGs, the original is a straight-up RPG. Your problem seems to be in the lack of new cast members.

It's a maverick nomination, but you betcha Black Mages is winter-related! One of their albums was released in December, don'cha know!
Hrnnh... Two nominations are fighting head to head, yet both of them have some red links, and one is a terrible block of text. As your sole "insensitive, evil, Wikipedia-obsessed" editor, I'll get them to be FA-like according to my standards...

To be totally honest, I don't really say anything "Santa-like" in any Red Mage outfit. It's just red, nothing more.

But not a red fluffy jacket with pants all ending with fuzzy white puffy lining. Their hats are nothing like Santa Hats (that's the only word for it), and do not even attempt the white fuzzy ball at the end of the cap. The pants are not red. Red Mages are not fat or jolly either. And they have no beard. The beard is everything.

November '08 Nominess
Bomb - Next month has Guy Fawkes day (or however you spell it). We need something that makes a bang! I go with the summon, but in your votes, you might want to say if we should go with the enemy one. Diablocon 11:46, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Does Kefka count as a character article? 8bit 21:51, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, but I put in a special request for Diablo, to make an exception, and he agreed. Drake Clawfang
I hope the "special request" didn't just open up a can of worms... 8bit 22:00, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, I had good reasons for it: November is Kefka's birthday month, and VI hasn't had a featured article all year. Besides, Kefka is long overdue. Drake Clawfang
I wish I can nominate Rinoa but I can't cuz no character aricles. That and no one will support her. Squallinoa 08 04:09, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
So let me get this straight: if I have a character I like a lot, I can't nominate it and I'll catch hell for it, but if it's someone everyone LOVES TO DEATH, you get an exception? BS. Complete BS. Apparently, popularity contests transcend even rules as long as you're on the good side of whoever runs the thing and it's someone that already gets plenty of attention to where they don't actually need to be a Featured Article since making it such is just restating the obvious: that everyone loves it, and there's no respect for things NOT popular since if they're not popular, they have to adhere to the rules or it's out. See where I'm going with this? Why should I follow the rules if it's apparent that what I like most is blacklisted solely because it's not to the mod's/admin's liking? That's like telling me not to steal then letting your best friend get away with robbing a bank, then expecting to "understand" and not try to take a few bucks from a cash register when nobody's looking. And that November is Kefka's birthday month is NO excuse to me; you can wait until next year. PaladinCecil 21:15, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Did you fully read the rules? There's nothing that says Kefka can't be featured. --ChiefKakashi 21:20, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
My friend, you should go to a psicologist or take some pills for stress - Henryacores^ 21:22, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Bitch bitch bitch. I asked for an exception, I was granted it. So shut the hell up. If you want to nominate something thats banned, talk to Diablo, don't waste our timing whining. You nommed Rosa last month, Diablo let you get away with it, so stop complaining. I got over the Gunblade and you'll get over Rosa. If it really bugs you than take it up with Daiblo like I did. Drake Clawfang
PS - just to make sure everyone understands, this is about me telling him that Rosa wasn't allowed last month because Diablo said no character articles. Take your petty grudges elsewhere. Drake Clawfang
The rules say NO CHARACTER ARTICLES. Re-read them. It says right there. If Kefka's on, it's Diablo bending the rules purely because the person asking him is on his good side and he has a personal interest in Kefka. Otherwise, he'd just write it off as unimportant. Insults aside, Henryacores, my point remains valid. I already know my favorite character will never get featured, both because nobody respects that character enough and because of how I've been, but I'd like to at least show that I think she deserves better than she gets, and this incident just proves the bias inherent in the rules themselves. And I'm thankful Diablo let me get away with it, and the only reason I re-added it was because nobody took Rinoa off the list. If you notice, he took it off, I respected him taking Rosa off after he did, understood, and left it completely alone until other people got away with it. This is about fairness. I shouldn't have posted it last time, I admit that. It was UNfair to expect to get through when other character articles didn't. BUT: I'm only a member. That doesn't make this case exempt from the issue. My adding it on against the rules is entirely different from the mod saying "screw all of you who have or will follow my rules, I like this guy's jibe so I'll let him slide." I'm not expected to uphold an implied moral code, and if I breach it too much and too often, I am expected to be banned (and I would've understood if I was). Mods are kept to a higher standard. PaladinCecil 21:33, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Actually, you know what? If it'll get the mod to stick to his word and actually keep character articles off the list, ban me. Please. I'd be more than happy to have that to make up for my breaking the rules last time if it'll get Diablo to stick to his own code. PaladinCecil 21:35, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Dear god, grow the hell up! No one is getting banned for this, no matter how annoying and whiny they act! It is not your place to make assumptions of why Diablo allowed Kefka to be nominated, it is not anyone's place to say why he did that, but his. And again, you can always ask him to let you nominate Rosa. Or you can stay here and bitch about it. The thing is, IV has had two FA's this year - Kain and Golbez, while VI has had none, and as I explained to Diablo, I'd been waiting for November to nominate him back during the summer when I did the initial restructuring of the page. So grow up, shut up, and if it really bothers you talk to Diablo. Either way, quit bitching. Drake Clawfang
Okay, let me correct my last statement: There is a rule that says Kefka shouldn't be featured...Under normal circumstances anyway. Also, look here. Diablo's had time to think on it. --ChiefKakashi 21:42, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
I believe we've already coverd many many times how the Featured Articles are corrupt to shit, so there's not reason to complain anymore. At this point I'm just riding the ebs and flows and enjoying the ride. You should too. --BlueHighwind 21:54, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
\(^_^)/ Life isn't fair, and it's just a website, so be happy \(^_^)/ 8bit 22:55, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
After looking at both the link of when it was requested as a feature AND checking what the rules were back when that was first posted... I'll concede it. The impression I got from both his appearance on the list and nothing offered for explanation like the link eventually given was "**** that character, I don't like her so she has to stay off the list and follow my rules... oh Kefka? he's awesome, by all means, break the rules that everyone who has a character nobody likes has to adhere to." It's not hypocritical if it was planned well in advance of the rules actually being set up. PaladinCecil 00:55, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
It's ok Paladin. I mean, I know that I wanted to nominate Rinoa, but rules are rules. I mean, you can't just challenge everyone in this page to fight over Kefka's nomination. It's one against (insert # of people against Paladin) Squallinoa 08 04:36, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't mind it in light of that it was planned well, well in advance of the rules they established. My annoyance was what looked like hypocrisy based on favoritism. I'm a fan of one of the most unpopular, disrespected characters in the entire series, and I've seen how well people respond to such characters regardless of their actual value when I got a glimpse of Dragon's Neck Colosseum. Rosa will never get a Featured Article. Rydia's the one everyone prefers to think of first for FF4 (views of Rydia as the female lead and as a better match for Cecil than Rosa are increasing despite the original intents of the story), and people prefer to think of Aeris first when it comes to FF white mages (they started with Aeris, see her as the origin, and both act like Rosa came after Aeris and for some loathe anything to suggest Aeris isn't as original as they first thought). The only thing I can ever hope to do is nominate her to show at least one person actually likes her and sees the worth she has to both the game and the series as a whole. I can say all of this so openly because I know without a doubt she has no chance in hell; Rinoa at least came after FF7 so more people were exposed to her, as shown by how many fansites she has. That's not a knock on Rinoa, I'm just saying that at least Rinoa has that much, more than about 10 fans in the world. PaladinCecil 06:47, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Continuing the bunched up to the side discussion above, I'm sure that once the character article ban is lifted (next year, probably) and if the articles are well written, they will have a decent shot at FA. Favroutism isn't the only thing looked at here, quality counts too. And, please, lay off the colon key when starting a comment! --SCM 07:43, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
I hadn't thought it reached the point that it had to jump back to the left again yet. I'd like to believe there's a chance, but I'd only be kidding myself. Quality is counted, but only the ones that are popular will get enough attention to have the quality needed to achieve FA status. It's more or less as I've said recently in talk about possible match-ups in the Dragon's Neck Colosseum: unless she's competing with things that are extremely inane or little thought of, she has no chance. There will always be a character with both the popularity and the quality due to that popularity that will be accepted before her. PaladinCecil 23:35, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
I bring to light an important note - Dissidia is released in December, so we must surely nominate an article related to the Final Fantasy series as a whole. Which article would be the best to be featured during Dissidia's release? Drake Clawfang
At first I was going to suggest the Final Fantasy (Series) article, but that needs de-wikifying. How about the Job System page? -- YuanSaluto!Acta 04:05, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
I consider myself something of a master of large-scale article expansion now. Allow me to fix it up and make it worthy! Excellent idea, Yuan-chan! (can I call you that?) Drake Clawfang
I looked at it, it looks awesome, so I did very little. I also changed a few of the lines on the table so it shrunk down. Drake Clawfang
If the Final Fantasy page (1st game) hasn't been nominated yet, I believe it should be the featured article of December because Final Fantasy was released in December. Squallinoa 08 00:07, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
On a slightly related note, I'd like to reccommend that on the month that Final Fantasy XIII is finally released, we feature something FF13 related. --SCM 21:30, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
I want a Christmasy related FA for December BTW. Diablocon 21:36, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Do we even have Christmas related articles here? Drake Clawfang
Well no, but use your imagination. Shiva for example, since she's the ice summon associated with snow and the like. Diablocon 21:39, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
You know, if I can clean it up, I have an idea. Let me work. :D Drake Clawfang
EDIT CONFLICT: I can see the Lightning FA box now: "She's the main character for XIII, but that game techinically doesn't come out until halfway through this month, so further info as events warrant! Oh, and she has a gunblade!" Wouldn't it make more sense to have a Featured Article for a game the month after it is released?
Actually, we do have one Christmas-related article. But you're not going to like it. Only FFVII even has anything like a Christmas, and that's only mentioned in the game that nobody can play. See: Chelsea. --BlueHighwind 12:59, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Shiva would be a great FA, as would Moogle/Chocobo, whichever hasn't been featured yet. 8bit 21:44, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
I plan to nominate Chocobo, as Moogles got the Featured Article last year. And I just like Chocobo better. --BlueHighwind 13:00, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
They don't have white bears though! Or sacks. Or go ho ho ho!
Nice try though. Nominate it anyway, since I love Red Mages. Diablocon 22:41, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Who doesn't? As for laughing, you can make a Red Mage laugh easily. Play, say, FFV, name Bartz "Hohoho", and make him a Red Mage. Ta-da! Drake Clawfang
You could feature an image that month (screw Blue's rules, you have money bureaucrat-powahs. ;)) --Gamer2127 12:44, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
