Celes's article has Oasis issues. And I never will understand why people think those equipment tables look nice, but that's not a problem with the article per se. 79.69.201.143 00:09, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

Correction - Oasis has issues with Celes's article. :) Doreiku Kuroofangu 00:18, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

This isn't necessarily an issue, but I imagine the Occuria of RW are the same as XII. Wouldn't a "Story" section instead of an "Appearances" section be better? It might be a simple change of the h2 name. 79.69.195.53 12:29, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

I think there's absolutely no issue since there's a direct continuity between the two games. If it was, say, FFT or TA2, it would be more than an issue appropriate indeed, but even then, it's still on the same universe, or so we consider. Of course, this is all because the Occuria are also the Undying, which points towards transcendence. - Henryacores^ 17:38, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

I think FAs should be prepared a day in advance and change as soon as the WikiDay changes via ifexpr and CURRENTDAY.(i.e. {{#ifexpr:{{CURRENTDAY}}<15|(display previous)|(display next)}}). It's more reliable. Today is the fifteenth, yet the FA has not been changed. 79.69.197.137 18:52, December 15, 2011 (UTC)

The game limit is no longer in place is it? - but saying that, Yuna is the main of X-2 anyway, so should be OK. Dissidia 012 ChaosCoolawitsDissidia 012 Cosmos 21:44, November 15, 2011 (UTC)

What about the Art Gallery? Isn't it from VIII? It's stricken off the list.http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd362/KayRC/wikisig-2.png 02:29, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

Whether or not the rule regarding whether or not we can feature one thing from one game a year has been removed is unclear, thus the invisible note I left. If it's still in place, then Art Gallery and Yuna would have to be removed. ScatheMote 02:32, November 16, 2011 (UTC)
Personally, I believe the rule is still up and thus feel like they should be removed, but then again, we also let l'Cie slip, which is mostly a XIII article, even if you can go and say "but it's FNC, not just XIII!", so yeah... I'm not sure either. I guess it's up to Diablo to say whether or not it still applies. MirrorshardSceada 09:42, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

DeathlySword: Oooooh snap. ;)Keltainentoukokuu 02:29, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

I don't understand what's so great about the Art Gallery, but anyway. The articles says that there is a puzzle but does not explain how to solve it. Also each image's title is bolded on the page which is not supposed to be done. The page doesn't have it's Japanese name. 79.69.193.147 15:10, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

Emperor Mateus's page bolds, links, and gives the Japanese for the novelisation. It should just give the link, the Japanese doesn't needed to be included anywhere but the article for the novelisation itself. Technically we should be using thumbs on those portrait images since it is clear where the image ends on the page. Furthermore, designating 52px of the right-hand side isn't that good, and also nothing like what we do on other pages--nor is this a particular special circumstance to warrant being different. The "Battle" section is completely wrong, as the {{main}}s of the boss names are not logical. Multiple main links should not be right next to each other. Instead they should be directly above where the particular thing is discussed. In other articles, if we discuss multiple boss-names in the same paragraph, we drop using mains, and just link when each one is named the paragraph. In fact, the second and third incarnations have their own sections already (which each have their own link anyway) but the first boss is hardly discussed. And I'm not sure if this is actually a problem... but we don't usually use mains for musical themes, do we? We just link on mention I thought. The page also says "PSP" at one point in Trivia when it should be "20th Anniversary" but that's a simple fix. 79.69.193.147 15:10, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

Ok, as part of a trail run, FA will be fortnightly. This means 2 FAs a month. If it works out, I will remove the game limit, since 24 FAs a year means we can afford the redundancy. Diablocon 14:52, November 1, 2011 (UTC)

An interesting decision. I hope this will also serve to give some less prominent games and media a time in the spotlight as well, like TA2 or Legend of the Crystals. Of course, given that their articles are on an FA-worthy level. MirrorshardSceada 16:25, November 1, 2011 (UTC)

I'm assuming the FFIVA that's been struck through is supposed to stand for TAY. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 21:47, November 1, 2011 (UTC)

Tonberry's page currently doesn't use "main" where appropriate, uses incorrect terms such as "Anthologies" (when it is called Anthology), doesn't use the common things we refer it to (Advance version, not Game Boy Advance, linking to the FFfA page, not the console). The page cops out on listing the tonberries when in most cases each one should be individually covered in prose. Before Crisis, Tactics Advance, Crystal Defenders, and all entries to the Crystal Chronicles series have no information. The page has sections tagged as stubs, and many more which should be. The article also has red-links, which infringes on one the questions posed at the top of this page. In addition to this, summon information should be on the page but it is not. The article in its current form is not a good example of a complete, quality article. 79.69.197.149 23:49, November 1, 2011 (UTC)

I agree: Before Crisis, Tactics Advance, Grimoire of the Rift, Crystal Defenders, Crystal Chronicles, Crystal Bearers, My Life as a Darklord, Chocobo no Fushigi, Chocobo Dungeon 2, and others are all flawed. Not that it matters much, since people don't play those games anyways. Redlinks are from those games, sure, but they're still redlinks. Also, no summon info. That's fail right there Unless somebody who's played those games and added Before Crisis, etc. info, I don't like this page at all. But if they did, and we got it merged, I might unvote for Titan and vote for Tonberry. I just wanted a summon FA anyhow. ~Shadow Catuse's tales 01:31, November 2, 2011 (UTC)

Well since l'Cie appear in the games of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series I think it's ok. The FNC series is kinda like Ivalice in this way, no? The games take place on different worlds anyway. Koharu Nami 03:58, September 5, 2011 (UTC)
I think it is a bit dodgy too because 80% of the article is about FFXIII. The Type-0 info seems to be just "l'Cie also appear in this game". I think it is unlikely we'll manage to shift the article's FFXIII-centricness by next month.Keltainentoukokuu 04:16, September 5, 2011 (UTC)

Tough selection this month. Ultima Weapon, Quickening, Shiva, The Void and Dragon are all very good articles; I can't comment as easily on Faris, having not played V, but it also looks excellent. I do kind of wish The Void had a few more pictures on it, but I guess there probably aren't really any more to have :/ I quite wanted to vote for it because I live there, but I had already firmly voted for Quickening, and Ultima Weapon edged out the others to earn my second vote -- Sorceror Nobody Flan 16:00, August 5, 2011 (UTC) Asura

Can someone please work on the Battle article (with me perhaps) if it is going to be featured, because right now it has glaring holes that are not gonna look good on a featured article. It basically only covers FF1-FF10 ignoring everything that comes after.

  • Charge time?
  • Weather effects? Terrain effects?
  • Area of effect and group-casting spells?
  • Battle speed, wait mode, active mode, set from the confiq (at least this should be added)
  • Chaining attacks/kills in some games?
  • Escaping from battles?
  • Multiplayer battles?

What about Final Fantasy Tactics battles? Dissidia battles? This is a main series article only? "History" of how the style of battles is basically copied from Dragon Quest that in turn copied it from Dungeons and Dragons?Keltainentoukokuu 20:07, May 2, 2011 (UTC)

Actually, points one and four should be covered in Battle Systems and point number three shouldn't be explained there either, having its place in either Battle Systems again, or Spells\Abilities. As an article, Battle should act as a portal to an incredible number of articles, so there's a small issue about it being so generic.
If we were to cover all of the series in a few, massive articles like this, it wouldn't look nice, would it? - Henryacores^ 22:10, May 2, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, which is why I feel a bit lost at from which end to start improving it, because if you now start to read it from top to bottom it doesn't read so well. It needs to be either snipped or expanded, just gotta decide on the scope. ILHI wrote this article originally and he tends to go a bit...overboard. Buuut this isn't the right place for this anyway.Keltainentoukokuu 00:58, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
I think trying to make the article more concise and replacing large sections with shorter paragraphs and links like Battle System like Henry said is a good idea. I like the comprehension of the article, but it seems that we don't need to have so much detail in sections like Steal, Limit breaks, status effects, etc.
EDIT: OH, and I would be happy to help add in info that appears in post-X games like weather and loot. Escaping can probably be summarized in the "Conclusion" section. 8bit 03:07, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

  • Oerba Dia Vanille (Final Fantasy XIII) - It's one of the best choices for February. This song, that revolves around the romantic feelings of a lover towards her beloved, moves emotions in surprising ways. I still remember the time when I played the song on my media player, and my parents stayed to listen together, smiling and praising the song's melodious nature. Come on people, I've been waiting to nominate Aerith for february's FA ever since like, summer of last year! It's the perfect month for her, especially with her in Dissidia 012 now! Aerith makes herself nearly a goddess in the game. She's such devotees.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 15:14, January 22, 2011 (UTC)
I can take Aerith losing, but the Turks frankly isn't that great an article, the story section is brief and the members section isn't much better. Furthermore, no one has done any work on improving it either, save for Kelt who did one of her cleaning sweeps on it last week. Besides all that, the lame "one game per year" rule means Aerith won't be eligible until 2012... DoreikuKuroofangu - Visit the Soul Shrine! 21:33, January 27, 2011 (UTC)
I still don't like the month association, and I still say we should feature comparatively obscure articles more often, but... the excessive period of a whole year before an article from the same game can be nominated has swayed me -- Sorceror Nobody 21:37, January 27, 2011 (UTC)
How it is excessive? It is a perfectly regular and convenient method to ensure that articles from more games are featured. FFVII isn't exactly a game with obscure articles. 8bit 21:47, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

As we've started off with Crystals, why not make a year of the most important things Related to Final Fantasy in general? This month, the original game, then mabye Nobuo Uematsu or Yoshitaka Amano? Lightning Insanity 07:35, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

To answer Adonzo's question, the administration at one point had a prejeduce against Final Fantasy 8 and did what they could to avoid having it show up on the front page. Back then, in order to get Squall Featured, I was ordered to also spruce up Zidane's page and then they offered to feature Squall and Zidane at the same time (two articles sharing the same month because they didn't like Squall as a character). Fortunately Squall ended up getting the entire month, unfortunately when it came for Rinoa's turn, they didn't even bother for a compromise, instead they just threw up some other article that I think wasn't even in the voting list.
