Deletion[]
Muffeltangeln: Been there since yesterday. Marked for deletion as vandalism. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 14:23, January 26, 2012 (UTC)
All these images that this user uploaded. They all have no license and most them we already have. The user him/herself should be block for refusing to listen nor stop. NeoZEROX 08:40, January 26, 2012 (UTC)

XI Images []
There's an issue with a few XI images and their moving. Scathe experienced this issue earlier with File:Pixie 2 (FFXI).png, where another image couldn't be moved here. When he restored and redeleted the original image, he was able to move the new image over it, however, the image shows up as the old one now >_>; There are several other images that have issues like this, where they cannot be moved because the deleted image allegedly still exists. These are File:Tiger 3 (FFXI).png -->Tiger 2 (FFXI).png, File:Chigoe 3 (FFXI).png -> 2, File:Scorpion 3 (FFXI).png -> 2, File:Treant 4 (FFXI).png -> 3, and File:Uragnite 3 (FFXI).png --> 2. I'm not exactly sure what to do to them to prevent them from doing the thing they did with the Pixie picture, other than reuploading them after moving them over the old image. Please assist, noble Admins! Jimcloud 22:39, June 25, 2012 (UTC)

"Enfire (Spell)", "Enfrost (Spell)"[]
Enfire and Enfrost had their text moved and were not properly moved with history and all that. Enfire (Ability) and Enfrost (Ability) need deleted, and the two spell pages mentioned above need reverting to their previous state and moved to their (Ability) tags. Jimcloud 16:49, August 2, 2012 (UTC)
Protection[]
Mod Userpage Protection []
Is this thing open for business yet? Ah, just something I noticed. I don't know if it's just an old an out of use practice or it was just forgotten about, but according to Template:Staff Member, all Staff members get semi-protected user and talk pages, but this hasn't been put into effect since Jeppo and Scathe were promoted to mod. Is this still a policy we're keeping? - +DeadlySlashSword+ 19:59, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
- I hope we're not, protecting user talk pages is ridiculous. 79.69.195.175 20:07, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
- I wouldn't want my talk page to be protected against anonies. They have much a say as the rest of us. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 20:31, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
- My talk page isn't protected from anons but my user page is. I suppose the protection was to help elevate the status of the mods. Actually, scanning through the staff, Drake and Xeno don't have the userpages protect either despite being promoted before Jeppo and me. I'm unsure how in practice this was in the first place.
- If you'd like though, I can protect your pages along with all the other mods who don't have protected userpages. ScatheMote 20:56, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
- I wouldn't mind having my userpage protected, the monthly vandalism is amusing but protection would piss off my haters which is more amusing. :p Doreiku Kuroofangu 21:37, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, I must have added the talk page bit in there by mistake, but I do still think it'd be a good idea to put up the semi-protection on the userpages. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 21:38, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
- I wouldn't want my talk page to be protected against anonies. They have much a say as the rest of us. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 20:31, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
Scathe, you forgot Kelt's page. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 22:49, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
I had never ever heard of this and my user rights were changed twice. I think it's downright stupid to protect staff talk pages and I'm against it, but I am completely indifferent to protecting userpages or anything regarding the userspace as a whole. If anything, the only talk pages on this wiki that I agree with protecting are exclusively archives, with the obvious exception of anti-vandalism actions. - Henryacores^ 03:18, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
- I'll even back this up further. I have never even seen this practice in action and I've been following staff promotions since 2008. It's also a superfluous action since it doesn't take a dump to make an account and vandalize a page. - Henryacores^ 03:23, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
- I am not a supporter for needless protections. If a userpage is protected how can volunteers help if there needs to be maintenance? If a user talk page is protected, how would regular users with no account contact the user for help or discussion? I don't see the rationale in telling persons to "get an account" if they want to communicate - that's a rather unfriendly sort of attitude, to put it in a polite way. BLUER一番 12:45, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
Motomu Toriyama []
I said I'd suggest the admins protect Toriyama if it was vandalised one more time (check out the edit history -- that's about 50 bad-faith edits in about a month)... so here I am. The attacker (or attackers) use both anons and accounts... lots of accounts... so while I hate to request full protection, it's getting out of hand. So, full protection, plz. C A T U S E 05:48, February 4, 2012 (UTC)
- Done. I set it to expire in one week. If he continues to vandalize after then, I can always extend it. ScatheMote 07:14, February 4, 2012 (UTC)
Face[]
Some whack with a seemingly rotating IP keeps adding the obvious nonsense "A feature that most characters have." After requests from Deadlyslash, Kelt, Some Color, and myself to knock it off, somehow I don't think he's going to. I'm not sure if this quite warrants semiprotection, but it might. Mostly because he's been at it since 25 March. Cat 01:26, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

FFXIII-2 Vandalism[]
Special:Contributions/219.89.5.38 is being a generally loathsome weasel with his offensive edits to Final Fantasy XIII-2, on-off over the course of a couple hours. Maybe I'm doing this prematurely, but I'd suggest banning him if he keeps it up. I'm not bothering with test templates now that we know anons can't see them. C A T U S E 06:10, January 22, 2012 (UTC) A
- 8bit 07:52, January 22, 2012 (UTC) Blocked. Perhaps this is better discussed on the talk page, but should we create a "block" section on the noticeboard?
While we're on the subject, I suggest we just block this guy, "User:SonicRAINBOOMYAY" for moving the XIII-2 page and removing the info. If all he does it vandalize pages there no reason why we should not block him. I also agreed with 8bit with a Blocking section. NeoZEROX 08:33, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
- This user really should be banned as he/she is now moving onto different articles and vandalizing them. I already poltiely asked for them to stop but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. The latest edit is on the Final Fantasy VII page. < Kamikaze Pardee > 08:40, January 22, 2012 (UTC)

Adding nonsense to Toriyama[]
Special:Block/166.250.96.13. Methinks he's another sockpuppet of the guy Bluestar and I dealt with earlier this month, who kept bashing Toriyama and edit warring and stuff. "Recently he became known for his large role in the destruction of the Final Fantasy XIII mythology and its characters in his game XIII-2 for a number of reasons - namely his use of 'time paradoxes' to alleviate terrible storytelling, his awful portrayal of Lightning Farron and her sister Serah Farron, and his misleading marketing campaign that used Lightning as a primary advertisement even though he let her account for less than 2% of the final product. Fans of Final Fantasy XIII felt rightfully Toriyama'd." C A T U S E 05:35, January 30, 2012 (UTC)
There's still a great deal of vandalism still going on. I'm trying my best to revert all the nonsense being added and issuing warnings, but I suggest someone bans these vandals. Thanks in advance. < Kamikaze Pardee > 06:47, January 30, 2012 (UTC)
Blatant sckpuppetry? Or just a case of users not deciding on their name?[]
Catuse says at 23:37, February 25, 2012 (UTC) "Somewhere a zealous god threads these strings between the clouds and the earth, preparing for a symphony it fears impossible to play. And so it threads on, and on, delaying the raise of the conductor's baton." | |||

Blanking talk page[]
Two anons, both likely the same person, have been repeatedly clearing File talk:FF4PSP Rydia FMV.PNG for over 24 hours now. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 14:16, March 21, 2012 (UTC)
- Since there are two anons, I thought that it was better to protect the page just to be safe. If either of the two anons continue to delete talk pages or blank the page after the protection has worn off, let me know and I'll block them. ScatheMote 14:26, March 21, 2012 (UTC)
Immaturity at its finest[]
76.174.228.9 vandalised Tidus' article; it was reverted by Tetraninja but just thought the IP needs a swift whack with the banhammer. Tia-Lewise 15:09, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

A little late, but vandalism nevertheless[]
24.209.167.101 made a point of inserting rude words and what I presume was a link to his/her Facebook page on the Crystal equipment article. It's dated as June 4th, but nobody picked up on it, should they still be blocked? Tia-Lewise 17:29, June 22, 2012 (UTC)
- The purpose of blocking is to prevent further negative edits.
- If a user is not actively making bad-faith edits then there is no need to block them.
- And initial blocks of IP addresses should only be for around a week tops anyway.
- If a SysOp would like to disagree, go ahead. JBed 17:57, June 22, 2012 (UTC)
Faethin agrees with you, but reckons the bans should be extended. In his words, "I would increase the ban length to a month, seen how IPs change constantly but not nearly as fast as weekly." Still, I've brought it to your attention, that's what this section is here for. Tia-Lewise 18:19, June 22, 2012 (UTC)
Pointless reverts and text blanking[]
Special:Contributions/NinjaSheik's posts consist mostly of undoing edits, generally taking out several valid sentences, and none of these reverts have an explanation in the summary or talk page. Recently (June 23) they took out 2 whole paragraphs of the FF Type-O plot section, leaving it totally blank (Catuse later restored it). And just today on Sice's talk, several of us (anonymous contributer, myself, Kelt, and Henryacores) had discussed whether or not to include some trivia on her Tezcatlipoca weapon. 3 of us agreed it should be included, while Henry asked if maybe we could put it on a disambig page. NS undid the subsequent edit, probably after seeing the talk page, again with no explanation. Seems like a vandal to me. --Shockstorm 22:43, June 27, 2012 (UTC)
- I doubt she's a vandal, a quick Google search returns that she's an admin at KHWiki, and she's made several constructive edits here. It would be rather nice if she'd give a summary and check the talk page before undoing and removal, though... unless we decide otherwise here I'll ask her to please do so.C A T U S E 22:47, June 27, 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, NinjaSheik's not a vandal. We've had more troublesome regulars in the past, anyway. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 23:10, June 27, 2012 (UTC)
- NinjaSheik is an over-the-top reverter that reviews edits in a second and if there's something off they would rather revert the edit then fix the edit. Just revert back with a summary. 79.69.206.244 23:15, June 27, 2012 (UTC)

[]
In MediaWiki:Common.css is a line of code.
table.table td, table.table th {padding:2px;border:2px outset black}
This should be changed to:
table.table > tbody > tr > td, table.table > tbody > tr > th {padding:2px;border:2px outset black;}
* This is because otherwise if you have a table within a table with the /table/ class, then it would inherit all the properties which you likely only want associated with the table you gave the table class too. it makes a function more like the classic border/cellpadding/cellspacing tables basically.
I would also like this to be added below it:
table.table tr.no-table > td, table.table tr.no-table > th, table.table td.no-table, table.table th.no-table {padding:0;border:0;}
This removes table formatting.*. so if we were to ever change how we format our tables, or add extra parameters, we'd be able to modify this class whenever we want to cancel out table formatting rather than every previous instance where we have cancelled formatting using the padding and border CSS attributes
These have an immediate use on a potential List of Final Fantasy XIII Weapons redesign which plans to look different in Oasis and Monobook so it actually functions on Oasis, but we don't have to shaft Monobook at the same time.JBed 14:41, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

Categorizing[]
In Oasis, you can only add categories to pages thru the little box at the bottom. This is a problem because a) each time you add category(ies) the edit isn't marked as minor, even if you have minor set to default and b) you can't take out categories, either thru the box at the bottom or thru the editing interface. This is especially problematic when working with images. Just thought I'd point this out. Shockstorm 02:45, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, sorry, I realized you can change categories within the Oasis editing interface (thanks Kelt). Still have the problem of the bottom category box not marking edits as minor, though. Shockstorm 03:33, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
- This would be Wikia's problem. And Wikia don't fix problems, they only fix things that aren't problems.
- But it's not all bad, the category-edit interface is a good idea. It's just not complete. I will go to Central Wikia. JBed 12:47, July 3, 2012 (UTC)

Centaurion Blade's multi-tabber thingy has been messed up for a while. There are more than a few pages (even stickied ones in at least one case) that should be archived due to a lack of relevancy/sheer age/discussion closed/etc.
- Forum:Wikia Transition: The transition was nearly two years ago now, guys. I think it's old news now.
- Forum:Thieve's bracket, first round votes: When was the last time this was done? And it's in Rin's, of all places.
- Forum:Villain bracket, first round votes: Ditto, it used to be in Rin's as well, but Cat moved it.
- Forum:New Forum Banner Suggestion: It's been over three years since this was decided.
- Forum:New bcrat: We got a new bcrat, it's been half a year since any meaningful discussion. I don't know if there's a cutoff for these things, or what, but I'd say move.
- Forum:Butchered forum indexes: half a year later, I imagine most of the damage has been repaired.
- Forum:User templates in templatespace: Half a year later. Pretty sure that policy on the page for making user talk bubbles has been changed. This page has precious little reason to still be in Rin's.
And that's all the items in Rin's that I think should be archived, and that have very little reason not to be. There are a few that are more disputable, and I didn't include them here, I figured it'd be better to leave discussion for somewhere else if someone wants to start it. If someone objects to the archival of any of these, feel free to remove it from the list, I'd just like to get some of the clutter out of Rin's if at all possible. - Wikia Transition - Yeah
- Thieve's bracket - lulz, the old bureaucrat couldn't spell. But Jim, IIRC all the MMI threads are in Rin's. Along with some other junk, like Rin's used to be used for EVERYTHING or something. No point in organizing 4000 threads now... unless somebody hates themselves and the forumdexs enough to of course :P
- Villain bracket - I only moved it because it was at the top of Rin's. Otherwise, see above
- New Forum Banner Suggestion - I agree
- New bcrat - Is only at the top because I bumped it when destickying it (it was stickied during the ILHI/Henryacores Templates debacle to keep it from being buried). But yeah, should be archived.
- Butchered forum indexes - not a notable discussion, only at top because I bumped. Just let it die, or protect it if necessary.
- User templates in templatespace - Ditto "New bcrat".
- Also, could we move Oasis skin - problems and solutions along with Wikia Transition?
- And the New bcrat thread reminds me: whatever happened to Staff Discussion Mk. III? We agreed to start a new one after a month, never happened. :/ C A T U S E 00:57, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
- Oh dear. I thought everything not seen in Rin's had been moved to the Labyrinth of Time. Now I am disgusted and disappointed in equal measure. Jimcloud 02:27, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
- AFAIK the Labyrinth is for notable discussions. I dunno why the other three fora aren't set to auto-archive topics, nor why all the above topics haven't been thrown in the Labyrinth. C A T U S E 03:53, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
- Y'know, there is a way to auto-archive forums. I know I said it somewhere #noonegivesashit.
- Labyrinth is for archiving past discussions that have had some effect on wiki's to make them easier to find in the past and to show that the discussion is closed. 79.69.198.143 15:10, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
- Labyrinth is specifically for threads we actually give a damn about. We don't want to dredge up the moronic past that was the old Rin's, really. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 06:28, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

Locked and laybrinthed the important forums. I also haven't forgotten about the new staff discussion, but I've been away/sick/without internet so I haven't had time to really do anything about it. ScatheMote 10:24, August 8, 2012 (UTC)
Link to Oasis in monobook sidebar []
There have been arguments about Oasis vs. monobook in the past. Essentially what most monobookers say is "eh, I prefer monobook but still check things in Oasis"<--I don't believe that for a lot of users.
Monobook is only used by registers users, and registered users are those who have an interest in the upkeep of the wiki. Therefore this addition makes sense. I've discussed this before on two occasions and only got support.
For more information see: MediaWiki talk:Sidebar(Edit:Fixed). It's just a quick link for monobook users to help with troubleshooting pages for Oasis. 79.69.200.39 15:25, August 9, 2012 (UTC)
- The link is broken, sadly. And how would I link to Oasis in the sidebar? ScatheMote 07:21, August 10, 2012 (UTC)
The refered talk page was supposedly be: MediaWiki talk:Sidebar (why would that person link to it as a project?).—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 07:33, August 10, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, done. ScatheMote 08:08, August 10, 2012 (UTC)
Some CSS that might fix sortable []
In the Common.css it says this:
table.table > tbody > tr > td, table.table > tbody > tr > th {padding:2px;border:2px outset black;}
Can we change that line to this:
table.table > tbody > tr > td, table.table > tbody > tr > th, table.sortable.table > thead > tr > th {padding:2px;border:2px outset black;}
I think that'll work. It shouldn't break anything if it doesn't. JBed (talk) 14:26, August 22, 2012 (UTC)
