Welcome to Shinra News (formerly Current Events, Midgar Press and Bonga Bugle), the propaganda machine of the Shinra Electric Power Company, now hosted at the Final Fantasy Wiki. Here, special news pertaining to the Wiki and the Final Fantasy series that grab our attention will be reported for all to read. Anyone can start a news report, but be sure to leave the date, location, source and sign your report with three tildes (~~~) before sending in to the printing press.
News reports should be structured in a chronological manner, with recent issues posted at the top. To post a reaction or write a comment, follow the links provided according to the respective news link. Remember, only news related to the Wiki and to the Final Fantasy series are allowed. Square Enix Steam Sale this weekend

Square Enix is having a sale at Steam with Final Fantasy games selling for half price. This includes Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy XIII, and Final Fantasy XIII-2.
Monty Oum, creator of Dead Fantasy, passes away, aged 33

Monty Oum, the creator of popular fan series Dead Fantasy, has passed away, aged 33, having been comatose following an allergic reaction midst surgery. Monty had worked with Rooster Teeth to produce many popular animated series including RvB and RWBY. This has left the status of the Dead Fantasy fan series further in question.

Hajime Tabata answers questions at reddit

Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and Final Fantasy XV is doing an AMA (ask me anything) at reddit on Final Fantasy Type-0. In his opening he has stated his plans to have another AMA later for Final Fantasy XV.
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Twitter Battle launches

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Twitter Battle is a mini game presented by Amazon based on Final Fantasy Type-0 HD involving Twitter accounts. Users must visit a website and sign in with their Twitter account, then choose their character and use their character's skills to attack the enemy.
The mini game brings one up against enemies on a daily basis and holds a boss battle on Fridays. Training in the daily battles will unlock content and get one ready for the boss battle at the end of the week. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Twitter Battle has rewards to offer, such as custom consoles, figurines, and videogames.
The car won't be drivable in the upcoming Final Fantasy XV demo

The upcoming Final Fantasy Type-0 HD release will include a download code for the Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae demo. At first it was planned te demo would allow players to drive the party's car, but this idea has now been scrapped. Director Hajime Tabata explained in an interview: "Originally we were planning on making the car be available to drive throughout the world and throughout the demo. But we didn't want people to mistake it and think 'When did Final Fantasy become a driving game?' We've re-thought the demo in order for it to be more playable and accessible to people who know the franchise."
The demo will focus on the characters and seamless world exploration.
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will release March 17 in North America, March 19 in Japan and March 20 in Europe.

New songs are available for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call in all regions. Each one costs $0.99 or 150 yen.

- Final Fantasy Adventure – "In Search of the Sword of Mana" (FMS)

Square Enix also announced that more songs will be arriving on January 22nd.
