FFWiki prepares for the New YearEdit

31 December 2007 by Blue。

With 2008 being less than 24 hours away, the Final Fantasy Wiki is undergoing change. Scores of articles, mainly related to the Kingdom Hearts game series, are being removed from the mainspace, following the recent "takeover" of the abandoned Kingdom Hearts Wiki by FFWiki editors.

It is unknown when this process will be fully realized, however, the changes are being done as we speak.

In somewhat related updates, the Magicite Madness is coming to a close. Editors who wish to cast their final votes are advised to do so before the year 2007 ends.

Famitsu rates Final Fantasy IV DSEdit

13 December 2007 by Blue。

The latest issue of prominent Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu contains a review of Final Fantasy IV DS. The score given to this latest incarnation of the 1991 game was 35/40, the overall score of four reviews, each being 9,9,8 and 9.

In their review, Famitsu commented how FFIV almost feels like a new game altogether. The reviewers cited the usage of third-dimensional graphics and FMV cinematics that was not in the GameBoy Advance version. However, in spite of the new improvements, the story remains the same. Other improvements included the camera angle of boss battles which, according to Famitsu, "intensifies the tension of the battle", and auto-battle which facilitates combat.

Final Fantasy IV DS is scheduled to be released in Japan on December 20, 2007. It is unknown when this game will see a stateside release.

BlueHighwind granted rollback rightsEdit

2 December 2007 by Blue。

A prominent user called User:BlueHighwind was granted rollback rights and moderator status by administrator User:Crazyswordsman today.

BlueHighwind became the 10th moderator of the FFWiki after User:Azul81677 forwarded the suggestion to the administrator's talk page yesterday. Incidentally, this comes two months after Azul81677 was granted moderator status himself.

BlueHighwind accepted the title with humility, after strewn with congratulations and felicitations delivered by other editors. BlueHighwind, logging in at 12:48 pm UTC time, garnered the amusement of editors with his response, comparing himself with Rosa Parks, the African American civil rights activist.

"This was a pleascent suprise. If you go to sleep a normal user on night and wake up with Rollback Rights in the morning, do you wake up as a different person? No. Well we're ahead of schedule now. I was expecting to be up on the promoted user board until at least January. Also I believe I am the very first user in history of wiki-ness that has ever managed to get promoted after being banned."

Final Fantasy IX Walkthrough Completed!Edit

8 November 2007

Today, 11/8/2007, when the Sun rose on this Earth, I don't believe it had any idea what greatness would be born on this day. Its finally completed, all forty pages of my finest walkthrough yet - the [[Walkthrough:Final Fantasy IX/BlueHighwind|Final Fantasy IX/Walkthrough]] It is by far my personal favorite. It makes my FFVII walkthrough look like a piece of garbage. God, I am so proud of my work, its amazing. Truly amazing. In fact it may be too good. I don't know if I can top this. However I'm going to have to try. I also find it hilarious that I'm pretty much the only guy who ever makes any updates to this news service. Of the last four entries, three have been about my newest walkthrough. Whatever, they all kick ass like their father. -- BlueHighwind

Final Fantasy I Walkthrough Completed!Edit

4 November 2007

After spending Friday night, all of Saturday, and a good portion of my morning on it, the Walkthrough:Final Fantasy/BlueHighwindFinal Fantasy/Walkthrough is now finally completed. Goddamn it took a lot of work, just goes to show you that I work my hardest when I'm not really doing anything at all important or meaningful. My second walkthrough isn't as good as my first, but then again FFVII is just that must better then FFI. I'm just so proud of my newest child I had to annouce it on the New service. Enjoy. -- BlueHighwind

Vandal caught and banned for lifeEdit

17 October 2007

On October 17, 2007, a lowlife called Douche vandalized the Wiki, moving many pages to who knows what. Maybe someone could actually expand on this? Because I don't have time to spend on lowlifes. Blue。 03:56, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Final Fantasy VII/Walkthrough CompletedEdit

10 September 2007

BlueHighwind- I'm not sure if a lower class user such as myself can add new articles to this page but, as of today 9/10/2007 or 9/11/2007 as your messed up internal clock claims, my Final Fantasy VII/Walkthrough is completed. It truly is a work of beauty the most perfect walkthrough that will ever be created. So I have decided to mark this day by adding it onto the nearly forgotten news source. Enjoy my creation - my Perfection brought to readable form via the typed word.

FFWiki AffiliatesEdit

25 January 2007

I am pleased to announce two new affiliates of ours. The first is the Final Fantasy Compendium, which is in my opinion, the best Final Fantasy site there is, bar none. It will always be that way. Our other is the Final Fantasy Project, a site run by a friend of mine, Renmiri. --Crazyswordsman 20:17, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't see what's so great about the FFCompendium. It might be that it looks like something HTMLed in 1998, but that's just me. --Auron Kaizer 05:17, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Primative HTML doesn't make for a bad site. CSS, PHP, and flash don't make for a good one either. I hope this is true anyway, otherwise my sites are crappy. FFCompendium has its uses, but I don't know if I would call it the best FF site ever. I find a certain quaintness of its design to fit in well with traditional FF menus though. I have never seen FFProject. It seems to only really be worried about FFX and FFXII... --TacticAngel 20:45, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
It wasn't a complaint, as such. I just don't see what's so great about it. --Auron Kaizer 20:48, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
The FF Compendium is the most oft-used resource for FF stuff on the internet. We're still relatively unknown, even though I have a big link here in my CoN account. People still respect the FFC as the best site out there today. FFP is just run by a friend of mine. They actually want me to write an FFVI section, but the problem is I spent all my FFVI energy here. Mainly you'd just be seeing dupes there of what we have here. And besides, a lot of their stuff is based on the FFX and FFXII Ultimanias, and FFVI doesn't have one (sadly). --Crazyswordsman 20:56, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Square-Enix Selling Two LicensesEdit

25 January 2007

"Two European websites are reporting that Square-Enix is in the process of selling off two of its licenses to other companies. The reports came first from a Dutch site followed by a German site. The news suggests that Square-Enix is off loading the Kingdom Hearts license to Buena Vista Games and will be selling the Chrono Trigger license to Mistwalker.

Here is a rough translation from the German site:

The German Wunderlampe come outside with reported to that Square-Enix of plan are two of its gamereeksen to another developer/publisher. this sell because the development costs of these games burst out higher than (expected) to sell. From own speculation the site ends up on two candidates, namely knows the Kingdom Hearts-reeks and the Seiken Densetsu-reeks (Mana-reeks). Thus Wunderlampe that the Kingdom Hearts-licentie expect will be sold to Buena Vista games, where Xbox 360-game and Wii-game belong entirely to the possibilities. At the Seiken Densetsu-licentie the site ends up at Nintendo, since there parts still more appear for Nintendo consoles. Licenties also other are evaluated. Thus Chrono-licentie are already bound to Mistwalker (Chrono Trigger 2 to the Xbox 360?), and the remaining ranges are already excluded weigh moderate sales in the west.

To what extent Wunderlampe are right, I doubt it, but rumours are rumours." [1]

--Lycentia 00:21, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

The Chrono Compendium says those rumors are false. But I sure hope they're not abandoning CT (or if Mistwalker picks it up they'll be spewing out Chrono games) --Crazyswordsman 00:38, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

I would also say that it's not to be believed. Everything written in the article being referred to indicates that they are second-guessing everything. At first, they thought/feared that Square would sell the licences to Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, but through "game/product analysis" they "concluded" that Square would sell the licenses to Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Quest (Chrono was never mentioned as a possibility, so I don't know where that notion came from). I can translate the page, if anyone wants to know what it says, but I must warn you, my German is pretty rusty. --Hecko X 00:46, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Square announces Final Fantasy "surprise"Edit

15 January 2007

Any thoughts? Any hopes? I'm hoping for something that's, well, not a remake of FFVII on the PS3. Crazyswordsman 05:19, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

*rolls eyes* Anything with the PS3 is bound to be a surprise, but not a good one, in my opinion. Do you have a link to an article on this or something? I've not heard of it... Armond 15:47, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

It's been spreading around the Internet. Another thing I don't want is an FFX-3 starring a skanky pop star Rikku. --Crazyswordsman 17:49, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Could be your lucky day, it could be an FFVI remake. --Hecko X 18:18, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Interesting...I'm hoping for a FFIX CG movie myself. It would be freakin' hilarious. --Auron Kaizer 18:27, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
I don't want an FFVI remake. An FFIX LIVE ACTION movie would be cool. Because live action > CG. For an FFIV and FFVI one, I'd say have Peter Jackson direct it. Crazyswordsman 18:58, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
With John Goodman as Quina! --Auron Kaizer 19:08, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
