Impostor sighted, banned for good[ | ]

23 August 2006

"BROTHERS AND SISTERS, WE HAVE AN IMPOSTOR IN THE MIDST!" exclaimed CSM as he discovers that an editor has gone by a name that looked, at first glance, similar to him. Abusing the pseudonym, the vandal began making destructive changes, before a newly appointed administrator named TacticAngel banned him/her for for impersonating an admin. CSM's reaction was understandable.

"I just discovered a User:Crazyswordsrnan (he's real, check his contribs link) (with an "r-n" as supposed to an "m") trying to masquerade as me. He is a fake. Don't take any of his actions as mine. Crazyswordsman 21:40, 23 August 2006 (UTC)"

CSM: We now have an official affiliate![ | ]

3 August 2006

CSM eagerly reported that the website "The Chrono Compendium" has included FFWiki in its list of affiliate. Sources say that there had been a collaborative effort between FFWiki editors and the said website webmaster on an article in Wikipedia. Quoted from CSM:

"http://chronocompendium.com has listed us as an affiliate. I guess that's because I helped their webmaster work on the Chrono Trigger Wikipedia article. Crazyswordsman 02:18, 3 August 2006 (UTC)"

CSM: New Rule[ | ]

20 June 2006

Vandalism policies had been changed to allow for the banning of editors who posts subjects related and about "viagra" on the main page. This comes as a countermeasure for vandal IPs who had abused editing privileges. Announced midnight, UTC time:

"Anyone who posts anything about "viagra" on the main page will be banned instantly. Somehow I think all these IPs are the same guy. Crazyswordsman 22:41, 20 June 2006 (UTC)"

Submit your conjecture essays today![ | ]

22 May 2006

CSM applauded an effort by Renmiri to submit a Final Fantasy X essay today. Speaking to other FFWiki editors:

"Renmiri, one of my Wikipedia buddies, has recently submitted an Illustrated Guide to the world of Spira (FFX and FFX-2). This is a well done essay. I think I should welcome all editors to contribute essays related to any game. However, I should ask you to keep them in your User namespace. Create a subpage for your essay and begin writing it (there's a helpful Wikipedia tutorial on how to do so). If the essay is well written (i.e, don't write about why you think Cloud or Sabin or whoever is cool) and is referenceable conjecture, then I will consider adding moving the essay into "essay" namespace (and don't be shy, please. I have very low standards when it comes to topics and prose, I just don't want any fanboyish sounding essays). Crazyswordsman 16:08, 22 May 2006 (UTC)"

At present, the article still retains its position in the mainspace.

New Feature[ | ]

12 May 2006

A new feature was added to FFWiki which allowed editors to vote for characters most likely to "win a fight". Quoting CSM:

"Well, now that we have a growing community, I decided to add a new feature. It's a simple "who would win in a fight" game. To see it, and understand what's going on, go here. If you have a suggestion for a fight, leave me a note on my talk page. Crazyswordsman 21:28, 12 May 2006 (UTC)"

Important Announcement[ | ]

6 May 2006

Several pages in FFWiki suffered severe vandal attacks by a vandal called Final Fantasy is shite. The attacks, made to pages such as Viera, Rosa Farrell and "Sigmund G. Bavor", sparked a discussion between editors to enact a policy as an act against vandalism. As reported by CSM:

"This morning, we suffered a severe vandal attack. We need to form a policy on how to deal with vandalism. Editors, we need you to come by more often. Crazyswordsman 17:14, 6 May 2006 (UTC)"

An excerpt of the discussion, involving registered and anonymous editors alike, may be read in the corresponding talk page.

Help wanted[ | ]

2 May 2006

A call for help was made by FFWiki Administrator CSM for changes to be made to the FFWiki sidebar. Speaking to the press:

"Right now, I'm trying to format the sidebar so that it looks more "Final Fantasy-esque," with names for each of the major sections, in a method similar to what the Wookieepedia has done. If anyone could help, I'd greatly appreciate it, and I'll give you an award of some sort. Thanks! Crazyswordsman 04:56, 2 May 2006 (UTC)"

In a recent development, several editors have expressed interest to see the sidebar improved, lamenting that only admins with technical know-how would be able to fix them.

New Admin Movement[ | ]

13 March 2006

The issue of FF Wiki only administrator, Shane613 missing caught the attention of Roy Al Blue. To address the issue, Roy Al Blue initiated proceedings to employ a new administrator. Speaking to the presses:

Since our one and only admin is AWOL, we have initiated proceedings to create new ones. User:Crazyswordsman has been already been nominated. Please vote on the Community Portal (Support or Oppose). You may also ask a question of the nominee.

In case you haven't checked, the vote on Crazyswordsman is currently "Aye:1, Nay:0" with five days to go before scheduled closing. We really need to have more people cast votes or it may be declared invalid for failure to achieve a quorum (only a bureaucrat can close or certify an election, and I am not even an admin on any wiki, let alone a bureaucrat). Please go to the Project: Community Portal and vote. Roy Al Blue 17:38, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
