Three years ago in the first Magicite Madness tournament, one hundred and twenty-eight characters from across the Final Fantasy series gathered to compete for the coveted title of Greatest FF Character Ever. Blood was spilled, families were destroyed by greed and blackmail. Spirits were crushed, dreams were shattered and bodies were battered as these brave warriors fought for glory. When the dust settled, Vivi Orunitia and Kain Highwind clashed in a battle so great the heavens shook with the force of their fighting, and ultimately Vivi was victorious.
Now, the wounds of old have healed and the fallen have risen to fight again. Bold new challengers have stepped forth eager to prove themselves. Swords have been sharpened, spells prepared, gaudy and absurd costumes ironed and steam-pressed. The time has come for the battle of three years past to be shamed by a battle greater, larger and more epic than anything seen before. And Vivi will soon find his claim to the crown challenged. Magicite Madness II was a large-scale multi-character tournament that ran from August 27th 2010 to December 24th 2010. Single-elimination brackets using DNC style voting narrowed more than 150 characters from every corner of the series down to just eight. Then four. Then two. And at the end Terra Branford faced Vivi for the championship crown, narrowly edging out a victory by a vote of 50-48. Each round of voting lasted a week, once the week ended the votes were tallied, winners logged and the next round began. This change-up occured every Friday Wiki-time, thus for some users the changes occured on Thursday.
Anon users could not vote.
In the event of ties, the winner was determined randomly using the IRC bot MasterTonberry.
