Uwee hee hee hee! Welcome, editors, to the Dragon's Neck Colosseum! My name is Ultros the receptionist, and each week I'm taking bets as to who will win in a tussle between two characters from the Final Fantasy series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll, really. The Colosseum owner stuck me on this duty after Kefka was defeated, but I need the money! So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

The Rules, Briefly

Functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that week. You may vote only once. If you are a user, please include your vote in the user section. If you are not a user, please include your vote in the anonymous section. It is important to do this because user and anonymous votes carry different weight. Votes put in the wrong section will be deleted. Users who do not log in when they vote will be considered anonymous IPs, and their votes also will be deleted. When a new fight is created, generally once per week, the previous fight's votes will be totaled and its winner decided. Ties may be called if the victor won by a margin of 10% or less.

Week 90: Judge Gabranth v. Golbez

Winner!!
undecided
Let's try something crazy this week and not have a Final Fantasy VII character involved in any way. Tonight, we have two men desperately trying their best to be Darth Vader. Who is the most shameless imatator?

Votes for the Judge Magister

  1. BlueHighwind Golbez never "did it" for me. He's dull. Gabranth on the other hand, has such great lines as "Your life, ends at my blade!"
  2. YuanSaluto!Acta 01:38, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
  3. I always mistaken Golbez for Garland, maybe for the not so great lines they use. Gabrant on the other hand have loads of awesome lines like "All was stripped from me! Only the hatred for the brother who fled our homeland remains mine!". And Gabranth's past is better than Golbez's. Leon5550
  4. ChiefKakashi: Golbez was a let down later in the game...
  5. Master Conjurer: This'n doesn't seem to try so hard to pull of the Darth look.
  6. Tex HOWDY!!! 03:48, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Votes for the Lunarian

  1. Gamer2127: Or don't take TA's suggestion. Doesn't bother me.
  2. The force is strong in him. Drake Clawfang
  3. Eh. I always liked Golbez, his story and actions more. He came first anyway, has armor, is in The After, yadda, yadda.--Otherarrow 23:46, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
  4. Cluna06 I'm going with Cecil's 'Sith' brother on this one.
  5. Golbez has better armor. Plus he gets to fuse with a pet Shadow Dragon O.o 8bit 00:02, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
  6. Konira Awww, Garlbanth is my least favourite of the Magisters children... Golbeza wasn't actually evil but still dawned kickass armour that no one would beat... no to mention... DOUBLE METEOR! ...He and FuSoYa made the ending epic...
  7. They're both pretty good characters. However, I'm going with Golbez because he had much better protagonists to antagonize. --AnonyMan 01:49, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
  8. BornfromDarkness02:01, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
  9. - User:Zack fair 007 Final Fantasy IV is WAAAAAAAAAY BETTER than Final Fantasy XII...and plus, Golbez had a better backstory..Grabranth was an evil twin brother...
  10. Gotta go with my first evil villain. BlueLionheart 03:20, 19 October 2008 (UTC)BlueLionnheart

Before you even need to say anything: No Drake, you may not change this format. I've decided that I cannot ingage in reasonable disussion over this, so forget it. --BlueHighwind 23:38, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

First off, WTF are you talking about? I'm not changing a thing. Second; blow me, I have as much right to change the formatting here as you do, which technically is none at all. Drake Clawfang
Come on, Krystal. The only true Sith in the Final Fantasy series is Cait Sith Drake Clawfang

I'm surprised more people aren't voting for the Judge dude (whom I haven't met yet), since XII seems more liked here than IV. `BlueLionheart 03:20, 19 October 2008 (UTC)BlueLionheart

IMPORTANT QUESTION: Um, Week 86 consists of Red XIII vs. Kimarhi. The next consecutive fight is then Week 89 with Galuf vs. Tellah. Are there two missing fights in there that I can't find or did someone accidentally skip 87 and 88? 8bit 03:27, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

No, TacticAngel screwed up and nobody caught it until now. I was thinking that it seemed a little early for Week 91... --BlueHighwind 03:32, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm gonna change it, Blue, unless you beat me to it. :p Drake Clawfang

Week 89: Reno v. Rude

Crisis-core-Reno
Winner!!
Crisis-core-Reno

Reno
45 to 27.5
Rude
These two are two of the funny guys of Final Fantasy, and are practically inseparable if you are to infer anything from the various video games and movies that have come out, but if it came to blows . . .

Votes for Reno

  1. I actually got Reno in a "Which FF character are you?" quiz. --Gamer2127

  9. CinnaMan Hands down in my opinion. Reno is the BEST!
  10. nikel728 Reno
  11. Lockhart - Gotta go with Reno. Even though Rude is awesome, Reno is the all-star Turk.
  12. I have to vote for Reno because he is made of awesome. Plus, in my opinion he would win in a fight, though I doubt there would be one.HolaRoRo
  13. I just like Reno more than Rude, and he makes me think to Axel from KH too… — Alarielle
  14. Yumino
  15. Reno is much much much much cuter than Rude! - SilverSummoner 00:58, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
  16. Krystal: Reno is cuter and funnier!
  17. User:Kjffwiki - I like his craziness
  18. Fyrmer - I like both of these guys a lot, but for me it really comes down to straight man versus comedian. Sure, I may be more of a taciturn quiet-type myself, but I've always liked the goofy funny-man.
  19. I don't care who's strong, I'll vote for characters that are clumsy and funny! Reno is FUNNY! Squallinoa 08 04:43, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
  20. Why not Reno? - Deadlyslashsword
  21. Dancing Daggers - Reno wasn't nearly as goofy in the original game as he was made out to be in all the other media... but the moment I first encountered him, I thought "this guy is cool... and incredibly sexy"
  22. Murasame77 - I like both of these guys but Reno just happens to be that little bit more awesome.
  23. KarhunkynsiWell, Reno is just awesome!
  24. Blykus: It's Reno. Need I say more?
  25. Real Genius I don't like his pyramids, (10 hp) but he is an awesome character.
  26. BlueHighwind: Bald isn't beautiful.
  27. ArableLadle : Yes! I have been waiting for this fight. Reno is coolest guy in Final Fantasy
  28. Ghulstruch: Well, Rude's pretty awesome, but Reno is probably one of the greatest FF characters in my opinion.
  29. Maverick Riot: This is hard! But I've made my decision...
  30. Ultima The High Seraph: Reno is just badass. Pure and simple
  31. Rydiaofmist: I'd tap that. Plus, he's entertaining and funny. My vote goes to Reno all the way.
  32. Tragedian: He's so beautiful. >.< I love Reno.
  33. User:Sailor Twilight: Do I seriously have to give my reason for voting Reno? Is he not cool enough for this to be self explanatory?
  34. Rihya: Reno is just too cool... Plus, I like his fighting style... And he made the best comment relating Cloud: "Just looking at your face is makin' me sober"...
  35. Sweet Nightmare~ My vote's for Reno, for having some of the best comedic lines and being completely fangirl-inducing. ^-^ Reno all the way!
  36. Hydrogene~ Just say the word. Reno wins.
  37. copycatloki :: I actually like'em both but I just love how Reno runs up walls like a spider in the movie. xD
  38. Master Conjurer: It's kicking a downed horse, but...
  39. Kuzlalala: Reno's the cooler one!!!
  40. Mr_Darkside~ Another vote for Reno. :p

  2. Red hair beats bald.
  3. Reno is cool.
  4. I love Reno and Rude as a team and separately. they both rock and live up to their names as Turks. However I like Reno more now and forever. Rude is big, bad, and bald but nothing can beat a cocky, wise-ass redhead like Reno. XD
  5. Reno has a metallic rod with a TASER. Rude does not. End of discussion.
  6. Reno's just SO cute1
  7. Altough I think, that they'd never fight with each other, I chose Reno.
  8. With hair beats no hair.
  9. Reno rules!!!
  10. He reminds me of Axel of Kingdom Hearts, so I vote for him

Votes for Rude

  1. WOOOT!! 1st vote!! This is like pitting Dante with red hair VS. Agent47+Kratos+MIB. Its ha hard call, but unless Reno have something of Vergil (He could, with a bit of serousness and skill...), he's screwed against Agent47+Kratos+MIB.Leon5550
  2. Because Firecrochets are pure evil --Maverick King 20:49, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
  3. OwlEye Baldies Unite
  4. Konira I'm going with Rude, the thing that spawned Axel must be stopped... And Rude is awesome!!
  5. Aleria While Reno is cool, Rude is cooler.
  6. I'm not sure why I'm voting for Rude. Must be the sunglasses. BlueLionheart 18:50, 11 October 2008 (UTC)BlueLionheart
  7. I loved them both in Advent Children, but Rude is just.... he's one of the only characters to not be either extremely annoying, extremely naive, or poutingly sullen. He's just Rude. 8bit 19:02, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
  8. "Because it's our job" ....Probably the best quote by any of the Turks. Reno's role in Advent Children also destroyed my former image of him. dudutsai
  9. Reno is my favorite Turk, but at the end he's most likely going to win. Rude is just equally as awesome, neither of then are as cool when they're seperate. This match should be dead even. --AnonyMan 20:35, 11 October 2008(UTC)
  10. Sinh 22:56, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
  11. I think I'll go with Ol'Cueball on this one.--Oranejo 23:51, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
  12. Rude is a harder fight ScatheMote
  13. Vin Diesel with shades and a goatee? Gotta go with that. RowdyCMoore
  14. Looks, strength, a decent backstory, and loves Tifa? Rude is just better all around! SilverMage
  15. Xadren I liked him in FF7
  16. MardukKurios Oh no thats a tough one! They are perfect Team and both are totally funny but Rude is more handsome~ In my eyes XD
  17. Aramis: Man, Rude has "Secret Services" written all over his face. If he doesn't look badass, then tell me what badass is.
  18. BritBoy: This is one of the toughest calls, since the Turks are the coolest group in FF, but I have to go with Rude, I find him cooler
  19. No contest. Both hotter and cooler.--High Summoner 18:01, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
  20. Pluto. Rude all the way!
  21. Ameria: <Insert reason for voting here.>
  22. EhRgEiZ Rude just needs more votes.
  23. ChiefKakashi: I don't want to see Rude lose by a landslide.
  24. Yzz: Same reason as ChiefKakashi. I love Reno, but Rude just can't get slaughtered by him!
  25. Nomura: I'll vote for Rude, though I like them both)))

  1. Cirrus: I vote for Rude! He is a much more interesting character than Reno, who just seems to be a goofy tag-along. Rude and his amusing silence but obvious intelligence in the original game wins my vote!
  2. I like both of them.. but I like this guy cause he likes Tifa, too. Good Choice!
  3. Ryo: agreed!XD
  4. Lorenzo: Rude is very underrated. A much better character with more potential. Reno looks like a clown.
  5. dunno know what it is that makes him so awesome. his pimpin shades, his crush on tifa, or his german suplex...

Peanut Gallery

Of course, lah. The rule clearly said Tifa cant ever lose here its draw if theres 10% involved somewhere. Leon5550

Oh, man, I don't think I've never had this much trouble in DNC before. Although Reno is my favorite Turk, you can't deny Rude is equally as cool. And Together...they're more super special Awesome together than seperately(made AC watchable). I've gottta ponder some more. --AnonyMan 16:11, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Just for the record, in a real battle, Reno would actually win. One word: "Pyramid". GG Rude. Drake Clawfang

That's why they made him forget that move, he'd be broken. He could anyone beat anyone in FFVII, provided it's one-on-one(or teammates don't think to help the one caught).

--AnonyMan oKAY, TOO MANY BATTLES WITH ffvii CHARACTERS. WE NEED A BREAK. - Zack fair 007

Seems a landslide for Reno already. Drake Clawfang

I don't think Reno could be Rude in a real battle. He's much too klutzy. BlueLionheart 18:50, 11 October 2008 (UTC)BlueLionheart

Um why is there a battle with two characters from the same FF?

Why not? 8bit 04:23, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Well hasn't there been to many ffvii characters here recently?

This is a tough choice. Both of these guys are badass and as a team, they're top-notch. I can't really decide, but I agree that there have been too many FFVII characters, though, I won't be bothered by that if the Barret/Ward match is coming soon.Free bird 02:17, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

I think the real question about this fight is (and let me say this slowly for all the FFVII fans who cant queit comprehend this thought) WHO GIVES A DAM ABOUT THESE DUMB SUPPORTING CHARACTERS, cause according to the votes this seems to be a modeling competition Eternal_Twilight

I'm having trouble on the "cant queit" part. Are those words? --BlueHighwind 13:36, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
You also spelt "Damn" wrong... unless you meant:

1. a barrier to obstruct the flow of water, esp. one of earth, masonry, etc., built across a stream or river. 2. a body of water confined by a dam. 3. any barrier resembling a dam. ...in which case your comment just doesn't make sense.

Unless he actually meant the giving of a dam. In which case I'd be interested to see who among us owns a dam to give. SilverMage

I've been to Hoover Dam... the place where the allspark is kept... that is, while they still gave tours before 911. I offer up that dam. ChaosEsperVII

Can we have characters from other FFs, please? Final Fantasy 7 gets all the love. There have been loads off FF7 battles recently... Terra_Homing

Lol...this is my first time in the peanut gallery so...anyways I just have to say this, but Reno reminds me of a particular student in school who has black spikey hair like him and with the same attitude on his face....like him =P Chocolancer 23:59, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Week 88: Tifa v. Setzer

Winner!!
DRAW
48½ to 46
Pull the lever, watch the reels and see which of these gamblers gets lucky! A barrage of Chocobos, a barrage of bombs, or a barrage of good old-fashioned fists and feet. But which of these slot-playing fan-favs truly has Lady Luck's ear?

Votes for Tifa Lockhart

  1. BlueHighwind I like Setzer, but I love Tifa. Kinda like my relationship to FFVI and FFVII. (Good to see that TacticAngel bothered to change the colors this time).
  2. Henryacores^ 16:05, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
  3. Ultima The High Seraph Her boobs are bigger than her head. If that doesn't get somebodies vote nothing will.
  4. Dark Raven

  6. Gamer2127:I don't like Setzer. Tifa's ok.
  7. ChiefKakashi: This is easy. Well, for me anyway.
  8. Tifa, hands down. --Tex HOWDY!!! 20:40, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
  9. I don't know Setzer real well, so I'll go with Tifa --UndyingvsSephiroth 00:08, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
  10. Tifa is the best girl character ever!. --TurboChase 02:58, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
  11. Karhunkynsi I wote for Tifa! The best FF character ever ´cause her boo... Wait! I mean...
  12. Hexed has his reasons. Hexed
  13. Way to go, Tifa! --SilverSummoner
  14. Dancing Daggers: Since I played VII first, Tifa's boobs hold a special place in my heart.
  15. Murasame77: I never much liked Setzer and there's something about someone that if they can lift up Emerald weapon and slam him into the ground with Meteodrive they're more than deserving of some respect, right...?
  16. Lockhart - Not even close for me, but I'm a Tifa fanboy. She's the best character from FFVII and it doesn't have to do with her chest.
  17. Mr_Darkside Tifa is just the best on whatever she does
  18. RowdyCMoore Tifa's the second best fighter in VII - I haven't played the game and still know that. I always keep Setzer on the airship for the whole game because he has almost no use.
  19. OnlyTwilight Well, my fav FF is VII and cosidering my fav character just happens to be Tifa, I will just have to vote for her!
  20. Skoot85 Tifa is awesome.
  21. OwlEye Do I Even Need A Real Reason
  22. SeKaLoYa: Tifa's too sexy, especially in the movie.
  23. Maverick Riot: I don't think anything has to be said in all honesty...
  24. Yzz: This was a really hard decision for me to make, especially since I was bothered by them not being the same category, but what it al comes down to is who I like more. Tifa was the first Final Fantasy character who became my favorite back when I first played the games. Today, she still is high up on my list, so even though Setzer is like, really really cool, Tifa gets my vote<3
  25. Blykus: I'm a fan of both characters, but my vote has to go to Tifa. After all the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII titles, she's just grown on me in a big way. I'm sure her rack also has something to do with it. Just saying.
  26. Krystal: Tifa is cool and kicks ass! Enough said.
  27. Draga: Can't...stop...staring!
  28. Tragedian: Tifa is one of the ultimate heroines in all of FF.
  29. Sinh: I love Tifa.
  30. Alarielle : I love Tifa and have only seen the Setzer from KH2 who really sucks, so I've chosen Tifa of course. Plus, she's a girl =p
  31. Kronos255 : I like Tifa and Setzer...Both look very cool and useful in the game, but my vote goes to Tifa.
  32. BigSlurp : I enjoyed having Tifa in my party because she kicked butt. I have never been much of a fan of Setzer in FF or KH, so I have no choice but to vote for Tifa.
  33. CinnaMan: FFVII started it all for me... I am playing FFVI all the way through for the first time, and I love it so far - already have the very cool Setzer in my party - but I can't just turn my back on one of the characters that got me hooked! I just can't!!
  34. ChaosEsper: She's Tifa.
  35. Meh, why not? Cloudofdarkness ^_^!
  36. Terra_Homing: I don't need a reason to vote for Tifa.
  37. Kuzlalala: Tifa is a cool monk girl, you know!
  38. Lvl50RedMage: Just because she's awesome. I mean, yeah, Setzer's awesome, too, but Tifa's just better.

  1. Setzer was ruined in Kingdom Hearts. Tifa was worthy of keeping her coolness in KH.
  2. Someone with her build and can still kick butt and not have back problems?!! She gets my vote for the physical strain she must go through.
  3. Yumiko: Hmm, I vote for Tifa because she is my favorite character. Setzer is awesome too but Tifa is losing right now. I'm sure she'll catch up when the fanboys come but whatever.
  4. Voting as a prelude to the fanboys. That, and Tifa is awesome so I can't stand to see her losing.
  5. FAnboy here. Go Tifa!
  6. This is a weird match, but Tifa is my favorite Final Fantasy character, so my vote goes to her.
  7. I don't use tifa much in FF7, let alone her limit. But I haven't playe FF6 yet to know how "good" or bad setzer is. All I know about him is in Kingdom hearts. To be honest, though, what captivated me was seeing tifa outside FF7 (Advent children and KH).
  8. Tifa is @w3$0m3!
  9. Tifa rocks!
  10. Tifa is probably my favorite character in FF. Don't know why. Probably because she is able to put up with Cloud's angst.
  11. Tifa is just awesome... nothing more needs to be said
  12. BOOBS!
  13. I don´t mind Setzer but Tifa is so awsome and one of the coolest and best charakters ever, go Tifa!
  14. It's Tifa. No contest.

Votes for Setzer Gabbiani

  1. Nomura I like Tifa as a character, but I don't like her as a party member. So my vote goes to... TA-DAH!!!... SETZER!!! He was one of my favourites in FFVI!
  2. Pablo618: Meh
  3. Tifas awesome but Setzer ends up coming out ahead, besides like Blue said the tifaboys are gonna give her all the votes she needs FinalFighterA+
  4. I like them both... Setzer is one of my favorite characters from VI and Tifa is definitelly my favorite character from VII... The reasons why I'm voting for Setzer are because Tifa's gonna get enough fanboyish votes already, and because when it comes to Gamblers no one can top Setzer... Rihya
  5. Because this fight should have been Setzer VS Selphie. But that's beside the point. More importantly, Setzer's life is but a chip in your pile. Time to ante up! - Deadlyslashword
  6. Masamune: I like them both, but Setzer's going to lose. I guess this boils down to a pity vote.
  7. Zack fair 007 This is not a pity vote. I vote setzer because his outfit looks awesome. I have never played ff6 before, but as of now... I AM A CLAWFANIST! YAY! just because there are better games than VII.
  8. Setzer actually fits the Gambler-type build. Also he's th much better character. But as a few have expressed already, Tifa's already going to get all the votes, if it weren't for the breasteses I bet more people woul realize Tifa's not that great a character dislike for FFVII aside. AnonyMan
  9. Setzer throws darts that can insta-kill. DARTS!!! 8bit 23:34, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
  10. Yo ho! Yo ho! A pirate's life for me! Maj. H
  11. BornfromDarkness: Suck it, Tifaboys. 23:37, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
  12. Pikmin Master: Last time I checked, Setzer had the airship. Both of them. Plus, if you can rearrange his clothes, he'll probably look like Sephiroth.
  13. Setzer's just better. ^^ Read above for reasons as to why this statement is true. ;D HolaRoRo
  14. Vermandois As someone who actually does have natural large lady endowments, I can tell you all from experience that it's not all that great. Boobs don't make character, personality does. And VI is the best game out of the series (besides Tactics)
  15. Squallinoa_08 Tifa, I love you, but Setzer is a much cooler character! And plus, he's from FF6. He's a gambler and owns his own cool tricked out airship. Sorry Tifa, but it's like what Barack Obama said, "It's Time For A Change!"
  16. Like both characters, but I like Setzer more.--Oranejo 05:45, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
  17. Yay! Finally a fight where I can express my immense hatred for an FF7 character. Setzer easily beats Tifa - she constantly relies on other people for support, while Setzer actually takes control of his own life! Go Setzer! Lord Eliwood
  18. Sora G. Strife: Tifa can never let go. X(
  19. ArableLadle :Have to go for Setzer cuz he reminds me of my realy good friend
  20. I despise Setzer -- as well as the majority of the FFVI cast. But for lolz. I Lion Heart I
  21. Khakishro: Been awhile since I voted...anyway unlike everyone here i truly appreciate Setzer. I used him as my main player character in FF VI. of course I hated his equipment so I used a Merit award so he could use the Zantetsuken. Tifa I NEVER used.
  22. --Maverick King 14:57, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
  23. 3155: Setzer is the best. I like how he uses dice and other things you wouldn't necicerily call weapons as weapons. Plus, you can't beat the fixed dice!
  24. He's the one who got me into playing Final Fantasy ! TKOTL
  25. Setzer gets my vote beyond the shadow of a doubt! He's the first and the best slot-user and he has a lot more class than most FF characters. Free bird 03:15, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
  26. Faethinverba volant : I like Tifa, she's a great character. But I'm voting for Setzer for the lolz.
  27. Rocking ChairThis is a hard one. Tifa is a great character and VII is the better game however Setzer is just too damn cool.
  28. Theentertainer: Setzer and his Casino in the sky. I love that kind of style.
  29. Yath: Setzer, for that fact he has two airships, is a gambler, and is much better and cooler than Tifa. What other character has cards, dice, and/or dart as his or her weapon type? Also add the fact that he has some of the coolest lines... 'Whenever you think you're right, you're wrong. And that is a deadly mistake.'
  30. Hyacynth: Sorry Tifa, Setzer is just one of the coolest FF characters ever. Also I like the free bad status lift from his rabbit thing.
  31. Aramis: Man, Being a gambler myself, I just have to vote the guy who has an airship called BLACKJACK (For god's sake, the best name for an airship ever).
  32. Dozmare: Gotta go with Setzer. seeing as he is my favorite Final Fantasy character EVER. Besides, Tifa isn't much of a gambler anyways.
  33. Ameria: Hey, I wouldn't mind being kidnapped by him. ;)
  34. Rydiaofmist: I like Tifa more as a character but since this is about who is the better gambler, I have to go with Setzer. Besides, despite Tifa's limit break, I always saw Cait Sith as the gambler from VII (yeah, I know most people hate him) and Tifa as the monk.
  35. RogueTomato: I'm voting for Setzer because one time the lagomorph saved the butts of everybody in my party.
  36. Sephiel: Setzer, one of my FFVI final teammates... And he has a cool theme !
  37. Sanctiel: Setzer all the way.
  38. Mangartist: Have to go with Setzer, the REAL Gambler, on this one. He's just plain awesome.
  39. Fyrmer: I liked Tifa well enough, and not really for her more obvious "assets," but Setzer's just way cooler.
  40. Arcanedude34: Yeah, I dunno. This was a tough one, but I think in the end I like Setzer better. He almost seems like a precursor to Balthier to me, with his spotlight-grabbing and memorable one-liners. Tifa had her moments, but I prefer Setzer.
  41. Deoxyribose: While his legendary gambler persona seemed a little trite, I found him to be more memorable than Tifa.
  42. Drake Clawfang Come ooooooon tie!
  43. Yumino
  44. Misruk As much as I like FF7 I believe most votes ppl see a FF7 character and say IM VOTING FOR HIM/HER, well forget that Setzer is decent and Tifa I never really used
  45. Dark Paladin Danny Definatly Setzer, Fixed Dice + Offering = Raep, plus he's hotter than Tifa
  46. Consular Revan: I don't know who this guy is, but I dislike Tifa because she is whored out by her fans. Plus, I kind of agree with Dark Paladin... ^o^

  1. I am going to vote for Sezter because 1. I like him better 2. He is broken (Fixed Dice + Master's Scroll = Devastation) 3. He is an accual gambler, Cait Sith is more of a gambler than Tifa who is a fighter, she does not even belong in this fight. Period.
  2. My life is in the chip pile, ante up!
  3. I got to go with Setzer on this. Tifa's good and all but Setzer is a better gambler simply because....he's a gambler. Also I actually like him as a character. I also like some of his lines, "I don't have anything to lose but my life. . .and I got that for free!" - Musashi
  4. One of the best characters in THE best Final Fantasy games, so of course Setzer has my vote, brains > boobies
  5. I just prefer Setzer

Sometimes I wish that people would just vote for whoever they like better. Just be real with it. --BlueHighwind 16:24, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I guess it all depends on the point of view... If this was a battle to decide who's the hottest of the two I'd definitelly vote for Tifa, but the factor for putting the two of them together was the slots and the whole gambler stuff... Tifa might be a kick ass monk, but she's no gambler... Rihya
Yeah BH, in a battle arena, the one who's more popular should win. I Lion Heart I 16:49, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Of course, haven't you seen the movies, the popular one always gets a last-minute burst of inspiration and wins against the otherwise superior opponent. this case, Setzer is that opponent, because he'll be hitting 4x Fixed Dice and likely dishing over 10k damage while Tifa sits there and waits for her Limit meter to charge. Drake Clawfang
...But the waiting is worth it. Get all "Yeah!"'s, and you can do enough damage to kill just about anything in one try. Even if you get only "Hit"'s, she'll do massive damage. Oh, and if you spend an insane amount of time training, you can do this. --<fontcolor="powderblue">ChiefKakashi 20:27, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, but here's the thing - By the time Tifa is hit enough that her Limit Bar is full, Setzer's Fixed Diced would have killed her. Even if she had Final Attack and Revive or something, her Limit Bar would be depleted since she died. Drake Clawfang
Don't forget Materia. Use Big Guard from the Enemy Skill Materia, Slow and Haste from the Time Materia, some healing magic and items, and bye-bye Setzer. That is, only if Tifa went first. --ChiefKakashi 20:43, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Um, no no no, no Materia. If Tifa gets Materia, Setzer gets Espers. So if Tifa gets the ES Materia, Setzer gets an Esper. Drake Clawfang
Too bad that Setzer would land on Mysidian Rabbit while Tifa busted his face in. And why are we even debating this question? This is a popularity contest, remember? --BlueHighwind 21:16, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah BH, in a battle arena, the one who's more popular should win. I Lion Heart I 21:46, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Exactly! You get it now: "this is a popularity contest". --BlueHighwind 21:48, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
I was quoting myself. So yeah I get it. I used doublesarcasm, in which I made a statement a lie, including sarcasm. Whereas sarcasm is usually just the oppisite of the truth. Saying this, some characters are more popular because of their battle skills. For example, Sage Tellah was beaten because of his "OMG, can't use Meteo" MP amount. Others, because they're in FFVII. And their boobs. I Lion Heart I 21:53, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I agree with ILHI. BlueLionheart 19:59, 4 October 2008 (UTC)BlueLionheart

I still don't get why this is a good fight. TIFA ISN'T A GAMBLER. Just because her Limit uses slots doesn't mean she's a gambler! Tifa is a straight up monk. To me, this just seems like a really random fight. I can't even decide who to vote for, since they're in two separate categories. I do kinda like Tifa more, though... Yzz 03:48, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Then vote for the sake of who's the better character Maj. H

OMG, could this be the battle that Tifa actually loses? (Well, despite the fact she loss to Vivi in the Magicite Madness). I don't hate Tifa, but I'm not that much of a freakish fanboy who will go to Hentai porn pages just to see Tifa naked. Squallinoa 08 04:47, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Why is Setzer getting pity votes? This reminds me of the Balthier/Vincent fight where people were giving Vincent pity votes out of the gate and he ended up winning by a pretty large margin....unless of course you pity voters are just lying and blaming it on the fanboys. :P --Oranejo 05:46, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Blaming fanboys is never a bad thing to do, lol! Rihya
"Sometimes I wish that people would just vote for whoever they like better. Just be real with it." Why do other people base their opinions on what other people think? That's giving in to peer pressure, you moron! Not in the normal sense, but you're still not saying what you think. Trust me, that's all that's ever going to matter in this world. --BlueHighwind 12:37, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Maybe Setzer's more popular than you thought, maye his popularity has risen in recent years. Maybe less people like Tifa(I can see that). What none of Setzers votes can be because people genuinely like him better? --AnonyMan 13:06, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Yup. Just like nobody can legitmately say that FFVI is any better than FFVII. I think jealousy is what drives most of those opinions. --BlueHighwind 15:09, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
VI is magnitudes better than VII. Learning abilities via Espers is quicker and more efficient than Materia. VI has a more elaborate plotline that makes more sense, and Kefka > Sephiroth. I would go so far as to say that I like VI's graphics more than I do VII's awkward polygon renders. This is not to say VII is a bad game; I will say that its musical track and character development are a bit better than VI's. 8bit 16:02, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
You see? Not a single true sentence in the bunch of reasons. Then again, I guess I would have to admit that FFXII is in every way better than FFVII if I'm going to say FFVII is in every way better than FFVI. But then again, FFXII ended too quickly, just when things were getting good with the war and all. So at least there's that. --BlueHighwind 17:10, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
I like how you dismiss all of my claims with no facts of your own, then return to your little spheal. The entire first disc of VII seems to be running around randomly looking for Sephiroth, then (SPOILER) Aeris dies, then there are two really short discs after that. Cyan and Umaro are nothing compared to the sheer annoyance of Yuffie and Cait Sith. 8bit"
Nail on head, disciple. Entire first disk of VII in seven words: "You run around randomly looking for Sephiroth". Drake Clawfang
Facts are pointless. But if I must indulge, here are all the ways FFVI is inferior: You can't even use Espers until the first third of the game has passed. Characters are given abilities, you can't really customize them beyond giving them spells, which they often do not need. Before then you have to focus on Terra and Celes for healing. God help you if the game decides you can't have them in your party - like during the entire Sabin adventure. That's another weakness: the first half is completely linear, as bad as FFIV in the beginning. FFVI's Limit Break system is a joke, I've seen two of the Desperation Attacks in all the times I've played the game. Two! Characterization is weak, with many party members completely forgotten. Mog doesn't even get a backstory. Umaro doesn't have a single intelligible line! Even the beloved Kefka does not get nearly the amount of focus as is given to Sephiroth. He's just evil, we're never told why or how. Other characters are usually given one emotion and stick with it. Terra can't feel love, Celes is in love with Locke, Edgar is a flirt. Nothing deep like Cloud's inner turmoil or even Barret's tough exterior compared to his love for his daughter. Graphically, the game's 2D graphics are too small for one to really see the characters well. And it lacks any of the powerful FMVs of FFVII. What attempts at FMV are commendable, but still don't make it. There is nothing in the game closely resembling the disaster of Aeris's death. And I hate how it makes you use every party member in those split-up dungeons. All I want to use are Celes, Terra, Setzer, and Sabin! Why should I be forced to use weaklings like Strago? The tone of the game is a half-hearted attempt at steam punk. It simply does not compare to the imaginative power of Midgar and the misery in the slums.
And for further reference, all those reasons are also why FFVI is a weaker game than FFIX, FFXII, and FFT. --BlueHighwind 19:13, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
As is typical with BlueHighwind, his problem with any game that's not VII, is that "it's not VII". Truly, is anyone surprised by this? Drake Clawfang
I said FFVII was the best (and kinda alluded that FFXII was about equal or better). Anything that doesn't do things as well as FFVII can't be better. FFT has a stronger battle system, but a weak character plot. FFIX's characters have stiff classes but there is enough customization for me (more than just spells). Yet its plot falls apart towards the end and there's too much dialog, it slows the game down. FFXII is almost perfect: perfect battle system, great characters (except Vaan), great story, but the storyline ends too quickly. And nothing really emotionally stirring happens. And anyway, we were talking about how FFVII is better than FFVI, remember? That's what needs to be compared. I didn't mention FFI for a reason. --BlueHighwind 19:26, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Well then, I consider VI better than VII, so allow me to close my eyes and refute every point you made.
"You can't even use Espers until the first third of the game has passed."
Because up until then you don't really need them, you have your abilities.
"Characters are given abilities, you can't really customize them beyond giving them spells, which they often do not need."
True, but you can customize your party which is basically the same thing. And if you're bitching about them not needing spells, then why are you complaining about them not getting Espers that quickly?
Before then you have to focus on Terra and Celes for healing. God help you if the game decides you can't have them in your party - like during the entire Sabin adventure."
Aw shit no, for half an hour you have to play without a healer! Give me a break. At *every* point up until Espers, Terra or Celes have to be in the party anyway, except for Sabin's scenario, so your point is hollow.
"That's another weakness: the first half is completely linear, as bad as FFIV in the beginning."
No more linear than VII's was: go to a place, buy equipment, find out where to go next and go there.
"FFVI's Limit Break system is a joke, I've seen two of the Desperation Attacks in all the times I've played the game."
It was the first game they were used in, excuse them for not getting it right the first time. I suppose you hate IV's ATB too?
"Characterization is weak, with many party members completely forgotten."
Like who? Every single party member got at least one or two subquests dedicated to their backstory.
"Mog doesn't even get a backstory. Umaro doesn't have a single intelligible line!"'
Umaro doesn't deserve an intelligible line. As for Mog, fine granted, one character with minimal backstory.
" Even the beloved Kefka does not get nearly the amount of focus as is given to Sephiroth. He's just evil, we're never told why or how."
In that case, sir Highwind, you must hate Heath Ledger's role as The Joker, right? He had no backstory or explanation for his evil, so you hate him too I assume. And Sephiroth's backstory was present, but lousy. "I'm the last of the Ancients!" Um, no you're not. "...Jenova is my mother!" No she's not. "....I'm going to destroy the world!" Why? "....." Sephiroth's backstory is all one big lie wrapped in misinformation wrapped in a messiah complex.
"Other characters are usually given one emotion and stick with it. Terra can't feel love, Celes is in love with Locke, Edgar is a flirt. Nothing deep like Cloud's inner turmoil or even Barret's tough exterior compared to his love for his daughter."
Personal opinion, nothing to say for that. Everyone has their preferred method of characterization.
"Graphically, the game's 2D graphics are too small for one to really see the characters well. And it lacks any of the powerful FMVs of FFVII."
It was the Super NES, what do you want? If they were making VI for the N64 or the PS I'm sure it would have had kick-ass FMVs and graphics, have you seen the Anthology FMVs?
"There is nothing in the game closely resembling the disaster of Aeris's death."
Get over it already and find a tissue. She died, sad, yes, moving on. That scene was iconic and sad, yes it was. But iconic enough for the entire game to revolve around it? Hardly.
"And I hate how it makes you use every party member in those split-up dungeons. All I want to use are Celes, Terra, Setzer, and Sabin! Why should I be forced to use weaklings like Strago?"
The split-up dungeons added a unique concept to the game by forcing teamwork and team planning.
"The tone of the game is a half-hearted attempt at steam punk. It simply does not compare to the imaginative power of Midgar and the misery in the slums."
Vector = Midgar. It's that simple. Drake Clawfang
See, this is why I never should have bothered in the first place. Its a waste of my time. When people start deconstructing my comments down sentence by sentence, I know I'm not talking with a reasonable fellow. That's was one of Hecko's favorite tricks against Crazyswords. And I'm sorry if graphical and technological limitations weakened FFVI, but handicaps don't make games any better to play. And I'm so glad you brought up the Joker! That's a bad move if you're trying to say that the the Joker Kefka is better than Sephiroth. --BlueHighwind 19:58, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I'm quite the reasonable fellow, I just deconstructed your comment because everything about it was erroneous. As usual, most of what you said makes sense only to you. As for Kefka and the Joker, it seems you do in fact hate the Joker, which only confirms you don't know what makes a good villain. Drake Clawfang
No. Its creepy. Its weird as Hell, man. I don't like people obsessing over me like that. --BlueHighwind 20:06, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
It's okay Blue, we all know you're right. You don't have to argue anymore. - Deadlyslashsword
I remember when this place was where people would talk about who would win in a fight...--Gamer2127 23:32, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Actually Good Drake, your deconstruction of Blue's comments made you seem desperate to be right. Also, about half your reasons seem like they're just there to prove Blue wrong. Saying that, I will say something in Kefka's defense: Does he really need a reason to be evil? That's part of why I like him. What you see is what you get.

@Gamer: You think this is bad? Just pray to God that we never, ever have Sephiroth vs. Kefka. Trust me. --ChiefKakashi 02:55, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
My reasons there are to prove Blue wrong. I just don't like how he touts VII as the best game, no discussion, like it's the long-lost 11th Commandment that Moses forgot on the mountain. Really, this is "Tifa vs Setzer", and Blue turned that into "VI vs VII". We can fill a page the size of a the fight archives with debates on which game is the best. VI and VII were both great games. IMO, they both had their faults and their pluses, but you simply can't compare them directly. They're on different platforms, for different companies, with different battle systems, characters, plotlines and story focuses, and were overseen by different people. I like them both, and so do plenty others. Why do we have to pit games against each other? I'd thought people (Blue included) had learned that lesson. Apparently I was mistaken. Drake Clawfang
Also, everyone is free to like games better over each other, but when you start having to compare games to each other to prove which is better, it falls apart. I mean, I could prove VIII is the best game of the series by comparing it to VII or VI, with enough effort. Hell, I could make Mystic Quest sound better than VI and VII! Drake Clawfang
EDIT CONFLICT: "Really, this is "Tifa vs Setzer", and Blue turned that into 'VI vs VII'".
Yes, and you could have ignored him instead of perpetuating the argument and making the page so long. --ChiefKakashi 03:05, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
I was largely content to do so until he had to post that list detailing why VII is better. Ignore that, no, I don't fly that way. Anyway, how about we call it quits now? Blue has, and I will to. Drake Clawfang

Why does everyone keep saying that KH ruined Setzer? I don't see it.Jupiterkai 18:35, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. Only FF character who was ruined in KH was Seifer. AnonyMan
Yeah but then again its not all that hard to imagine that Seifer was like that at that age. FinalFighterA+
Get your facts straight, you two fanboys. Decontruction, whatever the hell is, is not what one of you just did. You two amaze me sometimes, seriously. Faethinverba volant
Congratulations, you just made absolutely no sense. Use better grammar. - Deadlyslashsword
Are you talking to me? Because if you are, then be quiet, check your own user page, go read a book and stop talking about grammar. Faethinverba volant
That made even less senseJupiterkai 20:39, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Coming from the guy that needed to be told three times to stop wiki-dumping before he got a clue on what was going on, I'd say you fail to make your point valid. Faethinverba volant
I'm sorry you can't tell the difference between bad grammar and a typo in reference to my userpage. - Deadlyslashsword
Considering that you seem to think that a wording that actually has more than six words per sentence is bad grammar, yeah, be sorry. Faethinverba volant
I can't understand what you just said. It must be your bad sentence structure. - Deadlyslashsword
I'd feel rather inclined to think it's your lack of reading skills. But that's just me. Or not. Faethinverba volant
If I had a lack of reading skills, would I be arguing with you over grammar? - Deadlyslashsword
Sure. Being pretentious and knowing what grammar is are two very different things. Faethinverba volant

I can't seem to vote for these two as I really have no preference, but nice pictures of both! -dudutsai

Well, folks, as I type this, it appears that this fight is tied at 40-40 and this could be the closest fight that a character has come to beating Miss Lockheart in quite some time. Who will prevail when the bell tolls? Keep voting and let's find out! --Tex HOWDY!!! 22:53, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

At the moment, Tifa is barely winning due to the annoymous votes. It won't matter though, because the 10% rule will stop either side from getting a clear win. --BlueHighwind 15:08, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
I hate that 10% rule, I mean, why can't this be precise? Well, actually, I understand why it's there, but still... ~Go Tifa! :3 Yzz 14:16, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
43 to 44.5, ZOMG! Ha, I love being a swing vote! :p Drake Clawfang
The 10% rules is there for a reason. If I was someone here, anon vote. Sing up to wiki, user vote. Sign up to wiki on another account, two votes. In theory, a whole fight can turn-around by a multi-accounter. But there will be a point when it gets suspicious. 10% rule is to try to stop cheats. I Lion Heart I
I thought it was there so people wouldn't bitch on and on after their favorite character loses by one point. --ChiefKakashi 21:17, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Maybe it is. What I said is an educated guess. It's usually used just in case there is a miscount. But here we're dealing with not that many voters. But how do we know these voters are all different? I Lion Heart I
Well, with the score being 46.5 to 43 in favor of Setzer, this could fall under the 10% draw rule at this rate. Who will have the last hurrah? --Tex HOWDY!!! 21:52, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Week 87: Galuf v. Tellah

FFVAGalufmenu
Winner!!
FFVAGalufmenu

Galuf
40 to 25
Tellah menu
When these guys were your age, they fought dragons in the snow, up hill, both ways and they didn't have any new fangled PlayStations to do it on.

Votes for Galuf

  1. BornfromDarkness: Galuf is a half-decent fighter, Tellah only has 90 mp. 02:04, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  2. Rare time I will vote for an FFV main character. Galuf is useful while Tellah lost it fast. He is the weakest mage in FFIV, being even surpassed by Cecil at Troia. -Henryacores^ 02:08, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  3. The scene whar he fights Exdeath radiates badassery. Hexed
  4. Even without mention the most badass Scene in FF. Galuf is the Coolest Older guy main character in the series. WAAAAAAY Cooler than that loser Auron, WAAAAAAY Cooler than Cid and all those other dudes too. And he went out like a Super Champ, also his comrades are actually smart enough to try to cure him. What did Cloud and the other retards do when Aeris died? "She's dead, time to toss her in da lake." AnonyMan 02:15, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  5. Best quote ever^ rofl. Anyways, Galuf is the only FF character in recent memory to be able to continue to fight despite having zero HP. That's pretty damn impressive. - Deadlyslashsword
  6. I really like both... Tellah has some memorable quotes ("I am DOOM itself!" kicks ass!), but he's not such an useful party member... The whole amnesia thing about Galuf sucks, but later on his story becomes a great one... And his death was pretty awesome, I mean, he really went out like a fuckin' badass! And... Anyone who travels on a meteor is definetelly better than someone who dies summoning it... - Rihya
  7. I dont give a floating crap about both, but at least this one looks better and say something decent. Maj. H
  8. Master Conjurer: I know I'm not the first to say it, but a scholar should not be limited to 90 mp. Galuf could actually do what his jobs required, even with amnesia.
  9. Blykus: This was a tough choice to make, but I like Galuf as a character just that much more--even if Tellah did say one of the most iconic lines in Final Fantasy history.
  10. Cloudna: I'm gonna have to go with Galuf on this one. He's more versatile and his stats don't drop when leveling.
  11. Arcanedude34: Galuf had some of the funniest lines in FFV (next to Gilgamesh) and is the only old man in the series (okay okay, besides Auron) who can still swing a sword as good as his companions. He doesn't let his amnesia get in his way of being a useful party member. Tellah had a few memorable lines too ("You swindler! You Spoony Bard!") but was incredibly useless. This is one of the only times I'd ever vote for a FFV character over a IV character, but Galuf just wins.
  12. Pikmin Master: I like playing FFV and I still remember the scene with the Siren. Galuf beat the snot out of Bartz, Lenna, and Faris. And since I always put Galuf as a Monk,...you know. Sure, Tellah has his moments, but Galuf has his scenes. Much better than mere quotes.
  13. OwlEye: He's Just way Better
  14. Free bird 21:34, 27 September 2008 (UTC) : Galuf seems far superior to Tellah judging from what I've read in other media and their respective pages. I've never played either game in which these two appear in, but apparently, Tellah is loved for one phrase and sucks in battle compared to devout heroism and greatness associated with Galuf. Thus, add one more vote for the amnesiac!
  15. dudutsai Though Tellah does have one of the most amazing jobs in the game, Galuf's death scene is a lot better than those crappy FFIV pseudo-deaths. It was also one of better scenes in the whole series I'd say...
  16. PeanutLord 01:15, 28 September 2008 (UTC) Galuf was the single most badass character of Final Fantasy V. Tellah can't claim that same position in Final Fantasy IV. Plus, Metal Gear Galuf > Spoony Bard.
  17. Mr. Rojo: Like a lot more Galuf, he has a good history and is a great fighter. Tellah is goring, useless in battle and in my opinion one of the worst characters. Galuf is cool!
  18. Galuf was useful, that puts him ahead of Tellah. Cloudofdarkness ^_^
  19. Firionklauser: The less crappy of the two
  20. CinnaMan: I really like Tellah, but I can't deny that overall Galuf was much more helpful, and had a more interesting background story... I mean he came from another world with werewolves... totally cool... and he can learn anything and everything Tellah ever could do... plus he didn't just fall over and die when his time came.
  21. RedCap: Go Galuf not only is he an awesome king he went to another world and got back twice and eventually helping it get completely restoredto a fused world
  22. --Maverick King 18:09, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
  23. BlueHighwind Galuf has a sexy moustache.
  24. Masamune: This is about 17 votes closer than it should be.
  25. Rocking Chair Gotta agree with the sexy Moustache. Besides you can actually make Galuf half useful and i actually cared when he died whereas i laughed and bagged Tellah when he died.
  26. Vestras Dead men walking huh? Well, Gaulf wins, easy. Versatility is the name of the game, and he delivers punishment right until he dropped. While I sympathize with Tellah, he just can't win.
  27. EhRgEiZ - Galuf has got my vote, because he was actually a good party member. He could fight and use magic... Tellah only had 90 MP and his stats decreased as he leveled up, plus he was a pathetic excuse for a "powerful" sage until he remebered all his spells, but even then he still was unable to keep his MP, because it was so low. Galuf's death was heroic... Tellah killed himself using a spell he didn't have enough MP for. So Galuf is the better choice, even if he didn't have a "spoony bard" line.
  28. Daz: My stars and comets! He's a winner!
  29. Alarielle: I vote for this guy because Tellah sucks as a mage (especially when you look at the other ones in FFIV)
  30. yay for galuf Dark Raicus 18:44, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
  31. Dancin': Galuf is a badass. Hands down!
  32. Hydrogene: He literally survived about 180k worth of damage during his fight with exdeath.
  33. Twilight_rain: This guy you really want to fight with, because his stats don't decrease! And just like Hydrogene said, he survived tons of damage from Exdeath!
  34. Ultima The High Seraph I don't line any of them. Galuf is cooler though and he has a tashe. Tellahs' moustash is ruined by his beard. Although Tellah shouts 'YOU SPOONY BARD!', Galuf is fro a different world which is way cooler.
  35. This is the first thing ive voted and anyways Galuf is just awsomeMiller 420 19:19, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
  36. The coolest senior citizen Final Fantasy TKOTL
  37. Fyrmer: I'm not a huge fan of either of them, but I'm picking Galuf 'cause I actually spent a siginificant amount of time with him in my party. Tellah bought it rather shortly after he joined me, but he'd already been around long enought for me to realize that he was entirely useless.

  1. At least when this one levels up, his stats doesnt decrease
  2. I love more FF4 more so than 5, but I just think my vote should go to Galuf. He could actually go melee or magic, he was once a great Dawn Warrior, and he continued to fight past the point of death!Tellah...well he just summoned a meteor and died like an idiot, although his spoony bard quote was funny...
  3. Galuf died a manly death.
  4. When I first played through FF5, everything seemed to be getting more and more typical-RPGish... But Galuf's sacrifice was unexpected and kept me intrigued to conclude the plot. Galuf's death motivated me to complete the game, which eventually became a good game.
  5. Galuf is the one of few characters who I consider GAR (if you don't know this, it is a title for the manliest or awsomest of heroes) in any Final Fantasy game. He didn't HAVE to die, he chose to die to protect his allies and granddaughter. If that isn't guts, I don't know what it is. That, and add the fact that he was able to hold his own (for me, anyway) in ExDeath's castle and against Gilgy and ExDeath himself. Tellah's only single battle against a major villian? Kills himself.
  6. Galuf is just better by far.

Votes for Tellah

  1. ChiefKakashi: First vote!
  2. Never played V, but Telleh isn't all that great, and Galuf doesn't seem that interesting. I could just not vote, but...no.--Gamer2127
  3. YOU SPOONY BARD!!!!! Did Galuf say anything half as memorable? 8bit 02:21, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  4. BlueLionheart You Spoony Bard!!!
  5. It's the glasses. --Oranejo 03:26, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  6. Aleria: How could I not vote for the originator of "You Spoony Bard!!" ? I can't, and that's why my vote is for Tellah.
  7. Ameria You Spoony Bard!
  8. Dark Raven: Wow, don't you have other reasons than "You Spoony Bard"? Meteor wins.
  9. Mr_Darkside Just coz he needs more votes.
  10. Meteor FTW! Drake Clawfang
  11. Southgale "You Spoony Bard" that is the single best line in the game... that or mabye Edge hitting on Rydia. sence Edge is not here Telleh gets my vote. Meteo on you all who vote agenst Telleh
  12. Otens Eh, I'm going with Tellah.
  13. Jupiterkai Tellah rules.
  14. Konira *Puts Generic but awesome Spoony reason.* Tellah was a wondeful character, not to mention he was in four - the seven of the originals but 800% better. Tellah get's my vote.
  15. Sora G. Strife: The guy who can cast the most powerful magic and kick his own butt in the process gets my vote.
  16. Pablo618:Tellah may have had real shitty MP... and his stats might have decreased... but he was an awesome character, he gave us the "spoony bard" and whatnot and his death was such a sad moment!!
  17. Yzz You gotta be kidding me. Of course Tellah! He's like, 1337h@x0r. Even though that limited MP thing did piss me off, "YOU SPOONY BARD" makes up for that, and then some.
  18. DB: Meteor ftw.
  19. RogueTomato I always thought Tellah was kinda cool. Besides, he had an inner strength - he was able to continue on his journey even after seeing daughter die before his eyes.
  20. Gyromite: Tellah might have been a bit crazy, but he is probably the best character you have while hes with you. He only has 90 MP, but while hes in the party, he has the most out of them all for a long time, plus he knows all the magic in the game. And i never found Galuf to be very interesting either.
  21. Rydiaofmist: Meh. I like them both but Tellah has fewer votes.
  22. DrakemasterDrake
  23. Karhunkynsi Whoa..
  24. Seymour: Since someone so kindly deleted my previous vote for Tellah. I shall once again vote for Tellah..

Galuf is the epitome and paragon of "Badass Old Man Strenff." It needs to be said. Anony What did Cloud and the other retards do when Aeris died? "She's dead, time to toss her in da lake." Lol, funniest comment so far! Rihya

AnonyMan is always taking shots at VII, even when it has nothing to do with the topic at hand. =O --Oranejo 03:25, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Maybe the guys didn't try to use restoring items on Aeris because Sephiroth disemboweled her...I doubt a potion would mend that, don't you think? - Henryacores^ 23:06, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
"Disemboweled"? Anyway, overplaying that death aside, who cares how fatal the injury was? Point is it never occured to them to at least try. Whereas Galuf defeintly had it worse and his friends desperately attempted to save him at least.AnonyMan
Maybe they knew she was dead by the way she keeled over after getting stabbed through the back. I do not think a cure spell would have saved her after being impaled. It would be like taking a squirrel that got run over by a truck to the Vet, I mean, what would be the point?--Oranejo 03:06, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Maybe they did, while simultaneously forgetting that there are spells and items that can resurrect as it were. There's more than just Cure. AnonyMan
Master Conjurer: Phoenix Down and Life ironically only cure KO, not actual death. It's not like they were in the world of FFI.
Then they need to stop calling them Phoenix Downs/Life and whatnot and call them what they really are...Smelling Salts. The Undead got gyped. Ah, well, not like I like Aeris enough to care when she died, less crap to a craptastic roster I say. AnonyMan
Master Conjurer: Am I the only one around who has enjoyed every FF played?
OwlEye: No, I'm with you there
ChaosEsperVII: Me 3.
Deadlyslashsword - I also.
No. Final Fantasy currently has a 90% record with me. So far: FFVIII, Revenant Wings, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus have ruined what would otherwise have been a perfect record. --BlueHighwind 20:28, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

It feels good to vote for one of these fights for the first time after reading through the archives. Granted I've never played neither FFIV nor V, but the next time Tellah is involved in a Collosseum struggle, it should be a "catch-phrase" fight! Free bird 21:38, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Wow, TacticAngel got lazy on this one. He just re-used last fight's color scheme. --BlueHighwind 19:40, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

I did re-use it, though there is probably some question about whether it was lazy or if I couldn't come up with a better one. T·A·C·T·I·C·A·N·G·E·L
Or you could have just used Yellow for Galuf and Pink for Tellah, since those are the main colors on their artwork. --BlueHighwind 12:10, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
