Uwee hee hee hee! Welcome, editors, to the Dragon's Neck Colosseum! My name is Ultros the receptionist, and each week I'm taking bets as to who will win in a tussle between two characters from the Final Fantasy series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll, really. The Colosseum owner stuck me on this duty after Kefka was defeated, but I need the money! So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

The Rules, Briefly

Functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or whom you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that week. Failure to comply with these rules will likely result in your vote being removed up to being banned from participating in future fights.

  • You may vote only once.
  • If you are a user, please include your vote in the user section. If you are not logged in when you vote as a user, your vote will be removed.
  • If you are not a user, please include your vote in the anonymous section.
  • To vote, type the following "#~~~~", afterward including any reasons for voting you may wish to include. You are required to leave this whether you are logged in or anonymous. If you do not sign and timestamp your vote, it will be removed.

  15. Laguna and friends are superior to the other group. squall would not exist without Laguna, and time would be compressed. The SeeDs would be stuck in the d-district prison without Ward. Laguna might have been killed by a Ruby Dragon without Kiros. Plus Laguna is the president of the most technologically advanced nation in ff8. So he could easily best the spirans, with his resources. Furthermore, all three members of the other group end up dead at some point. Also, Jecht defects to the chaos side in the 13th cycle of dissidia, due to the emperor's manipulations,in the 12th cycle. A traitor, a failed warrior monk, and a summoner who gave up his own life do not make for a good group. Clearly, Laguna Kiros and Ward are far better, and benefited their world more than the other group, who simply brought and received death.   16. Gotta go with these guys. Braska's crew is cool for sure and a shame they weren't playable FFX doesn't have any cool playable characters(Old Auron's lame, Yeah,what?!). I thought these guys had a great dynamic, and you learn so much more about them than just ambiguous snippets like with the Auron, Jecht and Braska group. Laguna grew to be quite annoying when I went back and played this game when I got older, but his getting lost remained hilarious "The unfamiliar always happens, didn't your grandparents tell you that?" It just occurred to me, after this fight has been up for a couple of weeks, this could have easily been subtitled "Battle of the cool old dudes." King of Noobs 14:53, November 19, 2011 (UTC)

Here's how I'd imagine the fight: Ranged+Support!Laguna, Physical+Speed!Kiros, and Physical!Ward VS Physical+Defense!Auron, Defense+Support!Jecht, and Mage!Braska. I cannot decide the winner due to the moveset options of both games. Pikmin Master 17:55, December 7, 2011 (UTC)

  7. zell is funny, and has one of the best limit breaks in the game. give him max strength and use his basic inputs (booyah and punch rush) combined with meltdowneffect to do 9999 each hit, hitting 5 times per second if you're really good... do that for 5 seconds, that's 25 hits of 9999 dmg....he hits more then anybody else in ff8 (or any of the other ff-games, i believe). he wants to grow up to be just like his grandfather. hyyperactiveness ftw.   20. Zell has a more fun personality and is a great character to play. I find Snow to be a worthless egomaniac and an unneeded character since Fang is better than Snow in so many ways.
