Sigh...this one is not even close to being a fair contest at this point in time. Hopefully the next fight will be more debatable and not a blowout. --[[User:JARIITX|<font color="#0000FF">'''Tex'''</font>]] [[User Talk: JARIITX|<font color="#000000">'''Howdy!'''</font>]] 19:52, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Uwee hee hee hee! Welcome, editors, to the Dragon's Neck Colosseum! My name is Ultros the receptionist, and each week I'm taking bets as to who will win in a tussle between two characters from the Final Fantasy series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll, really. The Colosseum owner stuck me on this duty after Kefka was defeated, but I need the money! So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

The Rules, Briefly

Functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that week. You may vote only once. If you are a user, please include your vote in the user section. If you are not a user, please include your vote in the anonymous section. It is important to do this because user and anonymous votes carry different weight. Votes put in the wrong section will be deleted. Users who do not log in when they vote will be considered anonymous IPs, and their votes also will be deleted. When a new fight is created, generally once per week, the previous fight's votes will be totaled and its winner decided. Ties may be called if the victor won by a margin of 10% or less.

Week 96: Gau v. Red XIII

Winner!!
undecided
Cloud & Red XIII 2
I guess you could call it the man who thinks he's a beast versus the beast who thinks he's a man. Thats the theme, right?

Votes for Gau

  1. Aw, poor Gau. I too think Red XIII is the best character in VII, and I too like him a bit more than Gau, but I think Gau's going to be crushed in this one. I may change my vote if things change though ^^ 8bit 03:54, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
  2. Is this the fight of those whom have no job class? Anyways, Gau's story is way more heartwrenching than Nanaki's. Plus, Red XIII hardly appears in any of Compilation. What, did SE forget about him? - DeadlySlashSword 05:13, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
  3. I changed side since Gau's loosing and I like them both the same. Gau's pretty powerful if you know how Rage works. Leon5550
  4. While Red/Nanaki is one of the few good characters that make up VII's abyssmal main party. He can't hold a candle to Gau, who's just that much cooler and interesting, Rage is pretty fun too. And he's very funny, he may look a bit weird but hey, that's how most Wild children look. AnonyMan 06:07, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
  5. Gau for sure. I've never played FFVII, but I've heard that Red is an interesting character. But that dosn't make any difference to me. I think Gau's story is better than a lot of other characters in the series. 3155
  6. Khakishro I am voting for Gau. The possiablities for him are endless. I like Red XII but I never used him as much.

Votes for Red XIII

  1. Nanaki is the best character of VII. Faethinverba volant
  2. I'd rather have a controlable beast than a man that acts like a beast...now seriously, Rage is a pain in the ass to master. - Henryacores^ 03:48, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
  3. Always liked Red XIII, thought he was pretty cool. Gau...eh...Meh.--Otherarrow 03:49, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
  4. Ouch Blue, bitchslapped. Red XIII is far superior, I hate broken English. Red can speak in complete sentences, which Gau cannot. Drake Clawfang
  5. LadyLeonhart
  6. SilverSummoner
  7. Squallinoa_08 - No no no FF users, Mr. Thou is over here! Gau's no Mr. Thou!
  8. Lookit that shirt! Gau's such a slut. At least Red XIII, being an actual animal, has an excuse for his nakedness. Plus, people only like Gau for his huge knockers anyway. Arcanedude34
  9. ChiefKakashi: I like Nanaki.
  10. CinnaMan I vote for the one Professer Hojo was going to try to mate the last remaining Ancient with.
  11. RowdyCMoore Gau is bleeping worthless.
  12. Ultima The High Seraph FFTA-ultima: Do I need a reason to vote against that monster.
  13. Copycatloki :: Red XIII gets my vote. He'll shred the fake-beast to pieces.
  14. Mr_Darkside Red is soooooooo gonna win this fight
  15. Jeppo: Only because I haven't heard of the other one.
  16. Bleh. I don't feel motivated to vote for one or the other. Flipped a coin, Red XIII won. ScatheMote
  17. Dark Raven
  18. Lockhart - Nanaki > Gau
  19. Nanaki was a great character and was actually easy to use in the game, compared to Rage. Xlatinsorax 17:20, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
  20. Chocobo Knight 18:03, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
  21. AvaGirl: Personally, I usually don't like characters who speak in broken English... (Why I also hate Kimahri, for instance.) Plus, I'm partial to FFVII, because I've never played FFVI. ^^;
  22. I never really liked Gau... On the other hand, nanaki was one of my favorite VII characters... Rihya
  23. Nanaki, hands down. --Tex Howdy! 19:48, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, so do we just leave Garnet vs. Yuna in the rubbish pile? Does it still count as "used" and not viable for a future fight? Maybe we could have both fights at once? 8bit 03:54, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

I, too, am eager to find out which among the two of them will get called a slut both the most often and the most unashamedly. PaladinCecil 04:25, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
We may get to it sometime, but someone jumped the gun and I do not approve. T·A·C·T·I·C·A·N·G·E·L
And I don't approve of your usual sloth and incompetence. Tell me, next time you want to actually work consistantly. --BlueHighwind 05:23, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Well that was uncalled for, Blue. TA's work is perfectly consistent in that it's usually inconsistent. Drake Clawfang
Who gives a fuck whether you approve BH? You aren't in-charge and TA is.  I Lion Heart I 14:24, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

PaladinCecil, if you can't get over what happenned a few weeks ago, I suggest you do not hang around here. You know well enough neither Gau nor Red XIII will be called a slut by someone who actually means it. - DeadlySlashSword 05:07, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Allow me to elaborate, please - get the hell over it already. Drake Clawfang 05:09, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Much appreciated. - DeadlySlashSword 05:15, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
1) I was referring to Garnet vs. Yuna. 2) You don't like me expressing my thoughts. I don't like that Rosa never gets a fair shake and never will. We're all disappointed in never getting what we want. PaladinCecil 05:19, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, but you're the only one who makes a point of bitching about it. Drake Clawfang 05:20, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm stating simple facts. If I were bitching about it, you'd get the lovely sight of several long paragraphs, every week. What I love is if multiple people say things that get on my nerves repeatedly, I'm expected to be quiet and accept it because it's their opinion, but I say one line in a general sense three weeks later and I'm expected to shut my mouth and keep it to myself like those people couldn't do, for the EXACT same reason. PaladinCecil 05:31, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Looks like its time to put the "don't reply" rule back. Just let him talk himself to sleep guys, he gets tired easily. Drake Clawfang
Yes, that would be a good idea. You have me on the verge of a rant as it is through these kind of double standards. Which I would be doing, but EXACTLY like last time, I'm trying to hold back that drive, despite how keeping it in check to 1-3 sentences is STILL seen as inconsequential and worth blasting me as a horrible person. PaladinCecil 05:43, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Check the bottom of the list of suggested fights. That is for you. - DeadlySlashSword 05:48, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for telling me about it. PaladinCecil 05:52, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Couldn't we have used the Nomura art for Red XIII? *gets ready to dodge incoming projectiles* I love Amano's art, but seriously, his version of Red XIII just looks terrible...Arcanedude34

Unfortunately, I agree. - DeadlySlashSword 05:53, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Hmm...I've never notice before but Amano's Red is way cooler than Nomura's, esepcially considering all of the other Amano VII characters suck pretty bad. --AnonyMan 06:10, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Is it just me or was there a red XIII not the long ago againt Khimari? Ultima The High Seraph FFTA-ultima 09:49, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Votes for Blue Mage

  1. Go Blue Mages! They're useful in IX, TA and TA2, anyway. And who wouldn't vote for the job class that includes Quina? Hmm....? You have problem? 8bit 02:19, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  2. Blue Magic is just...better. Cluna 06 02:25, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  3. Let's see... B of...Bad Breath! L of...Level 5 Death! U of...Unction! E of...Exploder! M of...Mighty Guard! A of...Aqua Breath! G of...Goblin Punch! E of...Earth Shake! Goooo Blue Mage! - Henryacores^ 02:28, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  4. While both takes a great while before they could be use, Blue Mage learns abilities along the way as you progress. When you obtain Mimes, it's usually a good 99% close to the end of the game. Bluer 02:33, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  5. Blue Magic is essentially the ability to mimic some of your opponents' moves. Take that! - Deadlyslashsword
  6. What better way is there to defeat a monster than imitating a monster? --SCM
  7. I never liked Mimes. Just like in real life, I think it's annoying when somebody copies someone else. Though it can be useful at times, I prefer variety and can't stand doing the same things multiple times at once in a same battle round. Variety is the best and it is what they excel at! Free bird 02:53, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  8. My favorite color mage!!! BlueLionheart Cloudy Wolf (T/C) 03:22, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  9. Pikmin Master: The first time I played FFV, I rushed to get the Blue Mage costume. The suit is awesome. With or without the mask which makes me looks like Robin.
  10. Blue Mages always come in handy. Mimes, not so much outside of FFV. Gotta go with Blue Mages this time. --Tex Howdy! 03:31, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  11. Blue Magic is more fun. Plus there are more/cooler Blue Mage character than there are Mimes, like Quina. Learning enemy skills>copying something once. AnonyMan 05:44, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  12. Never really used mimic yet and i played with a play mage on both fftas so my vote goes 2 the blue mage Lost-myth
  13. Well, I've never did use a mime before, so I can't tell how good they are. May as well vote for the one I do know. Silber 6
  14. Although the majority of blue magic was useless, in every game's list is a select few which one can easily rely on. Mighty Guard, White Wind, Level 5 Death, and other attacks which come in handy early in the game. If one uses a Mime on the other hand, the battle must be planned out to be able to use its full extent. If you ask me, if you're using a Mime to copy an allies ability, it'd be easier just to turn that character into the same class that you're copying instead. JohnnyC
  15. ArableLadle : Mighty guard has saved me so many times so realy have to go for Blue Mage
  16. Copycatloki :: I never used the Mime. Ever. The Blue Mage on the other hand was at least partially useful.
  17. MTC: The Blue Mage appears in more games than the Mime does.
  18. I actually think mimes can be more powerful and even more useful than Blue Mages, but they're less funny to play with... Is there a better way to destroy an enemy than using his own attack? Plus, Mighty Guard and White Wind by themselves make Blue Magic worth it.. Rihya
  19. SilverSummoner Blue Magic rules! especially Mighty Guard...
  20. CidTheFirst: Blue Mages can be the ace up your sleave if you use them right: they're good at magic with offensive, defensive and just plain crazy spells.
  21. Dark Raven 14:55, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  22. Aleria Come on, just think of all the awesome Blue Mages!
  23. Terra_Homing "I do what I want, you got problem?"
  24. Rydiaofmist: I don't like losing control of my characters so I rarely used the mime.
  25. Marduk KuriosI like the Abilities the Blue Mage can learn - they're effective and cool. The Mime can only Mime everything but he can't learn anything! But I like Dissidia Mime Butz anyway! =D
  26. Karhunkynsi Mages kick ass! GO QUINA!
  27. Yath Blue Mage! Much better than Mime: Able to use Monster skills whenever they want once learned! Mimes only use the last action used... Meaning it sucks in the wrong situation. Though Blue Magic's a b***h to learn, the results are totally worth it in the end. *spams Grand Delta and White Wind, Followed by Mighty Guard*
  28. Pluto. Anyone who thinks Strago or Quina suck in battle, doesn't know how to play FF6 or 9. Blue Mage all the way. And Kimahri is great too.
  29. Red Ronso Blue Mage is superior.
  30. RedMage I like blue
  31. ChiefKakashi: Because they can learn 1,000 NEEDLES. What more needs to be said?
  32. Mighty guard rules, along with death claw, and that level five death thing Exdeath64 00:26, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
  33. Lockhart - Yep.
  34. Theentertainer - Hurray! Mighty Guard, White Wind, Bad Breath, Khimari HURRAY!!!! HUERAY!!!!!!
  35. recino As much as I can see the advatige of the mime (Go Gogo!) I love blue mages more (yet so usless/non existent in FFXII)
  36. I love Blue Mages. Its almost like having Kirby in your party. Well, except for the fact that the Kirb eats foes to learn their powers. But I suspect everyone's favorite Blue Mage, Quina, would try that anyway. Signed, Dougar
  37. Billylemmon the Blue Mage Fanatic - I'll obviously be voting for the Blue Mage, as they are by far the best class. Ever. That includes over dragoons. Especially ones named Highwind.
Anywho; mimes suck because they have to wait for someone else to do something, then mimic it. Blue mages can just straight out do it. There should be more blue mages. More more more. Who do we have? Shitty Quina fatty Quen. Although I did use her, a lot. Other than her Kimahri... Great. A good character stuck in a crap game.
    I've been waffling.
    I vote blue.
  38. Mr. Rojo: I like a lot more Blue Mages.
  39. Blue mages are awesome. Plus, is there anything that ISN'T better than Mime?--Zephyrus11 00:35, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
  40. Ameria: My vote goes here.
  41. Jeppo: Mimes are a pain to use so Blue Mages all the way!

Anonymous Votes

  1. Easy, I'ld go with the blue mage. Miming and Blue magic aren't all that different, but their limitations set them apart. The biggest one for mimes is that they almost always have no control over it (FFT for instance). Blue Mages copy also but they have to be hit and they can't copy everything. It's a good thing that Blue magic sometimes copy the good ones like mighty guard, plus they can do it anytime they want as long as its learned. Most of the time, besides the stats, they can be treated like normal characters.
  2. Blue Magic is awesome!
  3. Admittedly Mimes and their abilities can be abused in the game-mechanics of most FF's including them but I've always found Blue Magic to be fun even if it isn't as effective or consistent as the mainstream magic varieties. Blue magic isn't simply acquired by monotonously pumping your levels up etc.; you have to actively pursue it and undergo certain methods of acquiring it which gets a certain level of cool over mimes that honestly gain little to nothing in terms of skills as they develop. Besides, the likes of Quina get a lot more hate than they deserve.
  4. Mimics are unoriginal, no matter how retarded Qustis' Blue Magic was.
  5. Mimics are unoriginal, no matter how retared Quistis' Blue Magic was. !See it's so lame to copy people.
  6. Blue mages all the way, I mean seriously, I have had my team saved many a time by my blue mage on v, by my gun mage on x2, and any other game that I have come across a blue mage sans quistis or quina (I didn't like either). All in all they have become my most used and preferred class in final fantasy.
  7. I just absolutely love this class. In every final fantasy I play it becomes one of the classes I use most. I used it a lot in X-2, where I managed to get all the blue magic spells. Just great.
  8. They both basically copy moves, so obviously choose the one that less...erm...copy-ish...? Uhhh GO BLUE THINGS!
  9. Mimes are creepy in real life...Regardless Blue Mages are the best!
  10. Having Played and enjoyed the Blue Mage from FF5 and Strago from FF6 it was nice to see some additional spells along side the Blue Magic staples in FFVII (Magic Breath, Trine, Aqua Lung etc.). Sadly these didn't carry over very well into later installments (sad to admit that FFXI did do right by the Blue Mage Class in a big way). Making gathering the Blue spells more of a chore rather than something you can do on the way right up until FFX where Khimari was able to learn his abilities on the fly but couldn't utilize them as freely as past Blue Mages. With all the nerfing this class has received in subsequent games after FFVII (Not counting FFTA)I'd still take this over Mime because of the incredible usefulness and Red Mage like variety of spells for Attack, Healing and Buffs.

Votes for Mime

  1. BlueHighwind This fight could be better known as "the battle between two superfluous Job Classes". Things were far better in FFVII when they were nothing but Materia. I vote Mime because they were at least useful in FFV. Blue Mages have never been characters worth anything.
  2. Agreed, Blue. FF6, 8 and 9 all had horrible Blue Magic systems, while FF7 had an awesome Blue Magic system. On the other hand, the ability to Mimic others has always been highly powerful, especially for spamming summons in FF6. Drake Clawfang
  3. Nothing's better than doing the same mess twice... for free no less! Leon5550
  4. Uhhh... Two classes I don't use... At all. But I have to say Coping the moves of others sounds better than risking death by getting hit with a spell. That's just not smart. EmptySky
  5. I hate Quina. LadyLeonhart
  6. Mimicing an ally's attack seems more appealing to me than having to take a blow from the enemy. Also, I find their outfits more interesting.--Otherarrow 03:02, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  7. Mimes are pretty awesome. Blue Mages are alright but I never really use them.--Oranejo 03:08, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  8. i always liked copying stuff. AtmaCrisis 05:09, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  9. After watchin Bartz wielded a Buster Sword and a Gunblade, I'M STARTIN TO LIKE THE MIME! Squallinoa 08 06:10, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
  10. Tzui20: Bartz is the best example therefore that mimes can ROCK!!!, GO ON MIME ^^
  11. I never used any of them as they are both bad, but mime is slightly cooler. Ultima The High Seraph FFTA-ultima 12:19, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
  12. Dancing Daggers: I like Blue Mages, their status attacks are the best, and I have a master Blue Mage in FFTA. Angel Ring + Self Destruct is always a lot of fun, but if you want a character to be doing serious consistent damage they're not much use. Mimes are cooler, and I love the costumes, so they win it for me.
  13. Alarielle Because copying a Ultima Doublecast-ed fom 28MP instead of 198 in X is obviously more than useful.
  14. From the images, Mime looks cooler. ^_^    I Lion Heart I
  15. Only because of Famed Mimic Gogo. I like both classes but they're not executed particularly well. Especially Stragus, who only gets Lores from a handful of enemies, none of which are useful either. - RadLink5
  16. ChaosEsperVII: blue magic was only good in 7.
  17. Template:BfDsig
  18. Gamer2127
  19. Masamune: Imagine that you're walking down the street and a bolt of lightning flies past your head. Thinking quickly, you allow yourself to get hit in the face with the assassin's next attempt, cleverly learning the attack and simultaneously dying a horrible pain-filled death. Now imagine the same situation, but instead of happily and moronically volunteering yourself for target practice, you can just electrocute that sumbitch right off the bat.
  20. I was gonna vote Blue Mage, but then I thought "Wait, the blue mages have Quina. No way." ScatheMote
  21. The over-powered FFV class demands it :P — YuanSaluto!Acta
  22. Sora G. Strife: Yeah, mimes piss people off in the streets. Blue mages? Don't exist.
  23. Yzz At first, I was really confused on who I was going to vote for. I always had fun with Blue Mages, I just think it's a fun job class. Mimes, however, I never got much experience with because you usually get them towards the end of the game, but I do really like Mimes! They're fun, too! So, I was undecided, until I read Masamune's vote, though, and it completely convinced me. I mean, it really is true.
  24. Fyrmer: I actually like both classes, But I'm voting mime 'casue it seem to be losing at the moment.
  25. WTF why isn't mime winning?Phade Paradox 18:14, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
  26. The Mine class is cool, a mine could learn Blue magic as well as other abilities making it better. Myself 123 23:22, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

  1. Hmmm...the most powerful class in FFV, the most versitile in FFVI, a powerful materia in FFVII and a fun class to play in FFT...nope Blue Mages cant claim any of that. Looks like Mimes get the nod. A-A-A-Quina Sucks-choo...wow must be alergic to pathetic FFIX characters.
  2. I've never seen the usefulness of Blue Mages. But I have however, seen the usefulness of Mime. And plus, Mimicking the ultimate spell or technique is quite awesome.
  3. Mime can be all in one!
  4. Mimes are better, since they can mimic the most powerfull attack or spell at no MP cost.
  5. I don't like either really, but in the long run of it Mime is the better of the two IMO.
  6. What kind of idiot wants to get hit by an attack to learn it? A good fighter can copy an attack by just seeing it.

Peanut Gallery

The biggest plus about Blue Magic is also its biggest detractor. Unlike other magic systems where you have to worry about equipping the right Esper/Materia/Whatever to learn good spells, Blue Magic just learns itself as you travel around. But that's the problem, the get the good spells you have to travel around to find the right enemies to teach you those spells. A major pain in FF9, especially since the Blue Magic there sucked in the first place. Drake Clawfang

Follow up explanation for my disciple on how FF9's magic system sucked. First, when I cast a spell, I want it to connect, so chuck out spells with "success rates", and I want that spell to actually do damage, so chuck out spells that deal with "random" stuff, along with the LV spells and status ailment spells. What's left?
  • Goblin Punch - sucks
  • Doom - sucks
  • Mighty Guard - good
  • Limit Glove - sucks
  • 1000 Needles - sucks
  • Pumpkin Head - decent
  • Earth Shake - dunno
  • Angel's Snack - good
  • Frog Drop - sucks because frog catching is tedious
  • White Wind - sucks
  • Vanish - dunno
  • Auto-Life - good
  • Quina - sucks

Oops, that slipped out. Drake Clawfang

Blue Magic is consistent throughout the series in that there are always a myriad of useless spells. Thus, your list is somewhat accurate. However, White Wind, 1000 Needles, Frog Drop, and Vanish are all useful abilities in addition to those spells marked posivitely by you. Those spells are all Quina needs. And I don't understand why Quina is hated. S/he's a better character than both Eiko and Amarant. And Forks are awesome items! I loved petrifying enemies with my Needle Fork :) Drake, perhaps you need succulent frog. 8bit 02:38, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm bored, so I'm gonna copy by Quina rant from my FF9 review. Drake Clawfang
"Enter Quina Quen. Quina, you are so lucky I've played Mystic Quest. Looking at your art I knew you wouldn't be ranking high on my character list, and after playing the game you've nose-dived down the list ever more. You've passed Cyan, Yuffie, Zell, Palom and Porom on your way to the bottom, and after hearing you talk about food even in the last dungeon, you shot right past Irvine and Selphie to rest just above the MQ cast. Congrats on becoming my second-most hated character. Quina has no backstory, no personality - she's a glutton, all she ever does, talk about or think about, is food. And the Blue Magic in this game is really watered down, her magic was weak. Plus, her weapon does random damage. Quina as a character is annoying, and as a party member is unreliable and next to useless."
I have a hunch this will turn out to be a Quina hate-ranting session. Bluer 02:41, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Not that Quina doesn't deserve it. But Blue Magic was only useful in FFVII. Mostly because all the good spells are available right by the time you get the Buggy. --BlueHighwind 02:43, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
To be fair, my disciple speaks true - half the learnable Blue Magic spells are overall lousy, especially the LV and Doom ones. But in FF9, I found it exceptionally lousy because all the spells did random damage, or damage depending on a variable of some kind - I appreciate consistency, and Quina's magic were not. Plus, you have to Eat enemies to learn the spells, it wasn't enough to just find them and get them to cast the Blue Magic on you. Drake Clawfang
As long we don't get into any of the catfights of the past two contests. I was honestly extremely relieved when I saw a job class battle. And if Quina is made the new punching doll, I shall defend him/her. On a side note, I think it's cool that Bluer's voting in the DNC. It's probably because this particular matchup is fanboy-repellant. 8bit 02:47, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Hey, just had a thought. Blue Mages cast enemy spells, right? What if a Mime mimics the casting of that spell back at the Blue Mage? Can a Blue Mage learn its own spell? Can a Mime mimic the spell being cast at it that was originally something the Mime mimiced? Drake Clawfang

Well, in FFT you can have Ramza learn "Ultima" spell by having Luso cast it on him...I wonder if you can have a Mime use that spell on Ramza...or have Ramza change to Mime class...hm...

I think Mimes are pretty neat. Even if they are excruceadingly difficult to control. (And I like Quina!!!) BlueLionheart Cloudy Wolf (T/C) 03:22, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Mimes are good in FFV, but outside of that game and with Gogo notwithstanding, there aren't many noteworthy Mimes I use. Blue Mages, I have a use for, specifically Strago, Quistis, Quina, and Yuna as a Gun Mage. Bottom line, learning enemy skills like White Wind and Bad Breath can do good when used right. Mimicry I find difficult. --Tex Howdy! 03:36, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

How long do you guys think this one will go before people start calling Mime a slut (and meaning it)? PaladinCecil 10:27, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Nah... you just started it... =D SilverSummoner j/k
Ultima The High Seraph: Nobody will do that as a mime can be ethier a man or a woman.
Yeah, you're right. Anyway, I think Mime will lose because (and simply because) recent games (after nes/nes-era) have almost no mime in them, but have blue magic/blue mage. Though I think it's more useful to be able to copy one of your powerful allies than one of your stupid, weak enemies. But that's my way of seeing things. Of course, facing a weapon in VII, blue magic would become useful, but in many case like that one, you can't learn the attacks to get them as blue magics… So it's useless. Alarielle
Red Ronso Red Ronso's Talk Page: Excuse me but there is one thing I believe to be fully true.

While it's true Quina shall forever be hated by many (once again Drake. Once again.), he/she is actually useful at times. Like in the battle with Lich, he/she has that water Blue Magic (I forgot at the moment) and truly decimates him, so it's a huge help. Also, yes, he/she thinks about food, but you gotta give it credit at the very least for originality. Characters that only think about food is as rare as an unopened Final Fantasy VII copy. Sure, no story for Quina, but he/she was at least... unique. I found Quina useful at the very least through Disc One and about halfway to disc 2 when the party was completed. Eh.

i think the originality of introducing Quina into the series was truly a profound one, fair enough Quina's character development was a bit lax but fair to say the ATEs were a wonderful distraction from game play and a nice touch, it was really nice to see Quina running around looking for food during some of the less interesting parts of gameplay :P plus everything about Quina was entertaining, his blue magic was humorous and useful at some points, it was good to have him casting white wind in my later battles in the game saving Dagger for eidolon pummelling ^___^ don't knock him!
Good to see FF Fans who like Quina, she never deserved all the hate. With just a little effort can become one of the best and most versatile memebers of the party. And that scene in Madain Sari when she schooled Eiko and the moogles on Cooking, is one of her most awesome moments.AnonyMan 17:59, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Jammi568:And anyway, no game can be constantly depressing and serious, as that would just suck balls. Hense Kirle, Relm, Cait Sith/Yuffie, Zell/Selphie, Quina, Rikku, all protagonists of XII.
I don't know. Even without Quina IX is still fairly more light-hearted than most, IMO. However when it got serious it did it really well. So's V, all of the characters are funny. Just not very deep and interesting.AnonyMan 19:28, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
And you wonder why not too many FF fans like FFV... - Deadlyslashsword
That's becuase it's story and character(aside from a few exceptions) just plain suck for the most part. Eveyone knows the Gameplay was FV's Main appeal. AnonyMan 07:22, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Hey! I liked V's characters and story! - Deadlyslashsword

It seems Mr. Lost Hero is an Anon. It forces me to delete his vote. ScatheMote

Quina is Kirby in disguise...

Quina would eat Kirby....and learn how to fly by inflating himself. Fyrmer
