Uwee hee hee hee! Welcome, editors, to the Dragon's Neck Colosseum! My name is Ultros the receptionist, and each week I'm taking bets as to who will win in a tussle between two characters from the Final Fantasy series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll, really. The Colosseum owner stuck me on this duty after Kefka was defeated, but I need the money! So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

The Rules, Briefly

Functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that week. You may vote only once. If you are a user, please include your vote in the user section. If you are not a user, please include your vote in the anonymous section. It is important to do this because user and anonymous votes carry different weight. Votes put in the wrong section will be deleted. Users who do not log in when they vote will be considered anonymous IPs, and their votes also will be deleted. When a new fight is created, generally once per week, the previous fight's votes will be totaled and its winner decided. Ties may be called if the victor won by a margin of 10% or less.

Week 90: Tifa v. Setzer

Winner!!
undecided
Pull the lever, watch the reels and see which of these gamblers gets lucky! A barrage of Chocobos, a barrage of bombs, or a barrage of good old-fashioned fists and feet. But which of these slot-playing fan-favs truly has Lady Luck's ear?

Votes for Tifa Lockhart

  1. BlueHighwind I like Setzer, but I love Tifa. Kinda like my relationship to FFVI and FFVII. (Good to see that TacticAngel bothered to change the colors this time).
  2. Henryacores^ 16:05, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
  3. Ultima The High Seraph Her boobs are bigger than her head. If that doesn't get somebodies vote nothing will.
  4. Dark Raven
  5. Tifa rocks!!! BlueLionheart 19:59, 4 October 2008 (UTC)BlueLionheart
  6. Gamer2127:I don't like Setzer. Tifa's ok.
  7. ChiefKakashi: This is easy. Well, for me anyway.
  8. Tifa, hands down. --Tex HOWDY!!! 20:40, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

  1. Setzer was ruined in Kingdom Hearts. Tifa was worthy of keeping her coolness in KH.

Votes for Setzer Gabbiani

  1. Why are we using KH images, especially for Setzer? Well, I like Tifa more, but I'll vote for him because Tifa's fanboys will give her all the votes she needs with me. Drake Clawfang
  2. Pablo618: Meh
  3. Tifas awesome but Setzer ends up coming out ahead, besides like Blue said the tifaboys are gonna give her all the votes she needs FinalFighterA+
  4. I like them both... Setzer is one of my favorite characters from VI and Tifa is definitelly my favorite character from VII... The reasons why I'm voting for Setzer are because Tifa's gonna get enough fanboyish votes already, and because when it comes to Gamblers no one can top Setzer... Rihya
  5. Because this fight should have been Setzer VS Selphie. But that's beside the point. More importantly, Setzer's life is but a chip in your pile. Time to ante up! - Deadlyslashword

Anonymous Votes

  1. I am going to vote for Sezter because 1. I like him better 2. He is broken (Fixed Dice + Master's Scroll = Devastation) 3. He is an accual gambler, Cait Sith is more of a gambler than Tifa who is a fighter, she does not even belong in this fight. Period.

Peanut Gallery

Sometimes I wish that people would just vote for whoever they like better. Just be real with it. --BlueHighwind 16:24, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I guess it all depends on the point of view... If this was a battle to decide who's the hottest of the two I'd definitelly vote for Tifa, but the factor for putting the two of them together was the slots and the whole gambler stuff... Tifa might be a kick ass monk, but she's no gambler... Rihya
Yeah BH, in a battle arena, the one who's more popular should win. I Lion Heart I 16:49, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Of course, haven't you seen the movies, the popular one always gets a last-minute burst of inspiration and wins against the otherwise superior opponent. this case, Setzer is that opponent, because he'll be hitting 4x Fixed Dice and likely dishing over 10k damage while Tifa sits there and waits for her Limit meter to charge. Drake Clawfang
...But the waiting is worth it. Get all "Yeah!"'s, and you can do enough damage to kill just about anything in one try. Even if you get only "Hit"'s, she'll do massive damage. Oh, and if you spend an insane amount of time training, you can do this. --ChiefKakashi 20:27, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, but here's the thing - By the time Tifa is hit enough that her Limit Bar is full, Setzer's Fixed Diced would have killed her. Even if she had Final Attack and Revive or something, her Limit Bar would be depleted since she died. Drake Clawfang

I agree with ILHI. BlueLionheart 19:59, 4 October 2008 (UTC)BlueLionheart

Week 89: Galuf v. Tellah

FFVAGalufmenu
Winner!!
FFVAGalufmenu

Galuf
40 to 25
Tellah menu
When these guys were your age, they fought dragons in the snow, up hill, both ways and they didn't have any new fangled PlayStations to do it on.

Votes for Galuf

  1. BornfromDarkness: Galuf is a half-decent fighter, Tellah only has 90 mp. 02:04, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  2. Rare time I will vote for an FFV main character. Galuf is useful while Tellah lost it fast. He is the weakest mage in FFIV, being even surpassed by Cecil at Troia. -Henryacores^ 02:08, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  3. The scene whar he fights Exdeath radiates badassery. Hexed
  4. Even without mention the most badass Scene in FF. Galuf is the Coolest Older guy main character in the series. WAAAAAAY Cooler than that loser Auron, WAAAAAAY Cooler than Cid and all those other dudes too. And he went out like a Super Champ, also his comrades are actually smart enough to try to cure him. What did Cloud and the other retards do when Aeris died? "She's dead, time to toss her in da lake." AnonyMan 02:15, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  5. Best quote ever^ rofl. Anyways, Galuf is the only FF character in recent memory to be able to continue to fight despite having zero HP. That's pretty damn impressive. - Deadlyslashsword
  6. I really like both... Tellah has some memorable quotes ("I am DOOM itself!" kicks ass!), but he's not such an useful party member... The whole amnesia thing about Galuf sucks, but later on his story becomes a great one... And his death was pretty awesome, I mean, he really went out like a fuckin' badass! And... Anyone who travels on a meteor is definetelly better than someone who dies summoning it... - Rihya
  7. I dont give a floating crap about both, but at least this one looks better and say something decent. Maj. H
  8. Master Conjurer: I know I'm not the first to say it, but a scholar should not be limited to 90 mp. Galuf could actually do what his jobs required, even with amnesia.
  9. Blykus: This was a tough choice to make, but I like Galuf as a character just that much more--even if Tellah did say one of the most iconic lines in Final Fantasy history.
  10. Cloudna: I'm gonna have to go with Galuf on this one. He's more versatile and his stats don't drop when leveling.
  11. Arcanedude34: Galuf had some of the funniest lines in FFV (next to Gilgamesh) and is the only old man in the series (okay okay, besides Auron) who can still swing a sword as good as his companions. He doesn't let his amnesia get in his way of being a useful party member. Tellah had a few memorable lines too ("You swindler! You Spoony Bard!") but was incredibly useless. This is one of the only times I'd ever vote for a FFV character over a IV character, but Galuf just wins.
  12. Pikmin Master: I like playing FFV and I still remember the scene with the Siren. Galuf beat the snot out of Bartz, Lenna, and Faris. And since I always put Galuf as a Monk,...you know. Sure, Tellah has his moments, but Galuf has his scenes. Much better than mere quotes.
  13. OwlEye: He's Just way Better
  14. Free bird 21:34, 27 September 2008 (UTC) : Galuf seems far superior to Tellah judging from what I've read in other media and their respective pages. I've never played either game in which these two appear in, but apparently, Tellah is loved for one phrase and sucks in battle compared to devout heroism and greatness associated with Galuf. Thus, add one more vote for the amnesiac!
  15. dudutsai Though Tellah does have one of the most amazing jobs in the game, Galuf's death scene is a lot better than those crappy FFIV pseudo-deaths. It was also one of better scenes in the whole series I'd say...
  16. PeanutLord 01:15, 28 September 2008 (UTC) Galuf was the single most badass character of Final Fantasy V. Tellah can't claim that same position in Final Fantasy IV. Plus, Metal Gear Galuf > Spoony Bard.
  17. Mr. Rojo: Like a lot more Galuf, he has a good history and is a great fighter. Tellah is goring, useless in battle and in my opinion one of the worst characters. Galuf is cool!
  18. Galuf was useful, that puts him ahead of Tellah. Cloudofdarkness ^_^
  19. Firionklauser: The less crappy of the two
  20. CinnaMan: I really like Tellah, but I can't deny that overall Galuf was much more helpful, and had a more interesting background story... I mean he came from another world with werewolves... totally cool... and he can learn anything and everything Tellah ever could do... plus he didn't just fall over and die when his time came.
  21. RedCap: Go Galuf not only is he an awesome king he went to another world and got back twice and eventually helping it get completely restoredto a fused world
  22. --Maverick King 18:09, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
  23. BlueHighwind Galuf has a sexy moustache.
  24. Masamune: This is about 17 votes closer than it should be.
  25. Rocking Chair Gotta agree with the sexy Moustache. Besides you can actually make Galuf half useful and i actually cared when he died whereas i laughed and bagged Tellah when he died.
  26. Vestras Dead men walking huh? Well, Gaulf wins, easy. Versatility is the name of the game, and he delivers punishment right until he dropped. While I sympathize with Tellah, he just can't win.
  27. EhRgEiZ - Galuf has got my vote, because he was actually a good party member. He could fight and use magic... Tellah only had 90 MP and his stats decreased as he leveled up, plus he was a pathetic excuse for a "powerful" sage until he remebered all his spells, but even then he still was unable to keep his MP, because it was so low. Galuf's death was heroic... Tellah killed himself using a spell he didn't have enough MP for. So Galuf is the better choice, even if he didn't have a "spoony bard" line.
  28. Daz: My stars and comets! He's a winner!
  29. Alarielle: I vote for this guy because Tellah sucks as a mage (especially when you look at the other ones in FFIV)
  30. yay for galuf Dark Raicus 18:44, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
  31. Dancin': Galuf is a badass. Hands down!
  32. Hydrogene: He literally survived about 180k worth of damage during his fight with exdeath.
  33. Twilight_rain: This guy you really want to fight with, because his stats don't decrease! And just like Hydrogene said, he survived tons of damage from Exdeath!
  34. Ultima The High Seraph I don't line any of them. Galuf is cooler though and he has a tashe. Tellahs' moustash is ruined by his beard. Although Tellah shouts 'YOU SPOONY BARD!', Galuf is fro a different world which is way cooler.
  35. This is the first thing ive voted and anyways Galuf is just awsomeMiller 420 19:19, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
  36. The coolest senior citizen Final Fantasy TKOTL
  37. Fyrmer: I'm not a huge fan of either of them, but I'm picking Galuf 'cause I actually spent a siginificant amount of time with him in my party. Tellah bought it rather shortly after he joined me, but he'd already been around long enought for me to realize that he was entirely useless.

Anonymous Votes

  1. At least when this one levels up, his stats doesnt decrease
  2. I love more FF4 more so than 5, but I just think my vote should go to Galuf. He could actually go melee or magic, he was once a great Dawn Warrior, and he continued to fight past the point of death!Tellah...well he just summoned a meteor and died like an idiot, although his spoony bard quote was funny...
  3. Galuf died a manly death.
  4. When I first played through FF5, everything seemed to be getting more and more typical-RPGish... But Galuf's sacrifice was unexpected and kept me intrigued to conclude the plot. Galuf's death motivated me to complete the game, which eventually became a good game.
  5. Galuf is the one of few characters who I consider GAR (if you don't know this, it is a title for the manliest or awsomest of heroes) in any Final Fantasy game. He didn't HAVE to die, he chose to die to protect his allies and granddaughter. If that isn't guts, I don't know what it is. That, and add the fact that he was able to hold his own (for me, anyway) in ExDeath's castle and against Gilgy and ExDeath himself. Tellah's only single battle against a major villian? Kills himself.
  6. Galuf is just better by far.

Votes for Tellah

  1. ChiefKakashi: First vote!
  2. Never played V, but Telleh isn't all that great, and Galuf doesn't seem that interesting. I could just not vote, but...no.--Gamer2127
  3. YOU SPOONY BARD!!!!! Did Galuf say anything half as memorable? 8bit 02:21, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  4. BlueLionheart You Spoony Bard!!!
  5. It's the glasses. --Oranejo 03:26, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  6. Aleria: How could I not vote for the originator of "You Spoony Bard!!" ? I can't, and that's why my vote is for Tellah.
  7. Ameria You Spoony Bard!
  8. Dark Raven: Wow, don't you have other reasons than "You Spoony Bard"? Meteor wins.
  9. Mr_Darkside Just coz he needs more votes.
  10. Meteor FTW! Drake Clawfang
  11. Southgale "You Spoony Bard" that is the single best line in the game... that or mabye Edge hitting on Rydia. sence Edge is not here Telleh gets my vote. Meteo on you all who vote agenst Telleh
  12. Otens Eh, I'm going with Tellah.
  13. Jupiterkai Tellah rules.
  14. Konira *Puts Generic but awesome Spoony reason.* Tellah was a wondeful character, not to mention he was in four - the seven of the originals but 800% better. Tellah get's my vote.
  15. Sora G. Strife: The guy who can cast the most powerful magic and kick his own butt in the process gets my vote.
  16. Pablo618:Tellah may have had real shitty MP... and his stats might have decreased... but he was an awesome character, he gave us the "spoony bard" and whatnot and his death was such a sad moment!!
  17. Yzz You gotta be kidding me. Of course Tellah! He's like, 1337h@x0r. Even though that limited MP thing did piss me off, "YOU SPOONY BARD" makes up for that, and then some.
  18. DB: Meteor ftw.
  19. RogueTomato I always thought Tellah was kinda cool. Besides, he had an inner strength - he was able to continue on his journey even after seeing daughter die before his eyes.
  20. Gyromite: Tellah might have been a bit crazy, but he is probably the best character you have while hes with you. He only has 90 MP, but while hes in the party, he has the most out of them all for a long time, plus he knows all the magic in the game. And i never found Galuf to be very interesting either.
  21. Rydiaofmist: Meh. I like them both but Tellah has fewer votes.
  22. DrakemasterDrake
  23. Karhunkynsi Whoa..
  24. Seymour: Since someone so kindly deleted my previous vote for Tellah. I shall once again vote for Tellah..

Galuf is the epitome and paragon of "Badass Old Man Strenff." It needs to be said. Anony What did Cloud and the other retards do when Aeris died? "She's dead, time to toss her in da lake." Lol, funniest comment so far! Rihya

AnonyMan is always taking shots at VII, even when it has nothing to do with the topic at hand. =O --Oranejo 03:25, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Maybe the guys didn't try to use restoring items on Aeris because Sephiroth disemboweled her...I doubt a potion would mend that, don't you think? - Henryacores^ 23:06, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
"Disemboweled"? Anyway, overplaying that death aside, who cares how fatal the injury was? Point is it never occured to them to at least try. Whereas Galuf defeintly had it worse and his friends desperately attempted to save him at least.AnonyMan
Maybe they knew she was dead by the way she keeled over after getting stabbed through the back. I do not think a cure spell would have saved her after being impaled. It would be like taking a squirrel that got run over by a truck to the Vet, I mean, what would be the point?--Oranejo 03:06, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Maybe they did, while simultaneously forgetting that there are spells and items that can resurrect as it were. There's more than just Cure. AnonyMan
Master Conjurer: Phoenix Down and Life ironically only cure KO, not actual death. It's not like they were in the world of FFI.
Then they need to stop calling them Phoenix Downs/Life and whatnot and call them what they really are...Smelling Salts. The Undead got gyped. Ah, well, not like I like Aeris enough to care when she died, less crap to a craptastic roster I say. AnonyMan
Master Conjurer: Am I the only one around who has enjoyed every FF played?
OwlEye: No, I'm with you there
ChaosEsperVII: Me 3.
Deadlyslashsword - I also.
No. Final Fantasy currently has a 90% record with me. So far: FFVIII, Revenant Wings, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus have ruined what would otherwise have been a perfect record. --BlueHighwind 20:28, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

It feels good to vote for one of these fights for the first time after reading through the archives. Granted I've never played neither FFIV nor V, but the next time Tellah is involved in a Collosseum struggle, it should be a "catch-phrase" fight! Free bird 21:38, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Wow, TacticAngel got lazy on this one. He just re-used last fight's color scheme. --BlueHighwind 19:40, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

I did re-use it, though there is probably some question about whether it was lazy or if I couldn't come up with a better one. T·A·C·T·I·C·A·N·G·E·L
Or you could have just used Yellow for Galuf and Pink for Tellah, since those are the main colors on their artwork. --BlueHighwind 12:10, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Week 86: Red XIII v. Kimahri Ronso

Winner!!
Red XIII
58 to 28

The cat who acts like a man versus the man who looks like a cat! . . . with a horn. . .

Votes for Red XIII

  1. Blue': Red, easy day. Better character from a better game.
  2. BlueHighwind: Red XIII wins because he is the intellectual superior.
  3. What BH said. Plus, Red>Blue. --Gamer2127
  4. RED XIII!!!!! I think that's the least coherent DNC vote I've ever made. 8bit 22:29, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
  5. I'm voting for him even though I also like Kimahri. BlueLionheart 23:01, 18 September 2008 (UTC)BlueLionheart
  6. Yumino
  7. RogueTomato My vote is for Red XIII. He's one of my favorite characters.
  8. Lockhart - Woo! My second suggestion that made it to the DNC! Woo! Anyways, gotta go with Nanaki.
  9. Red XIII kicks all kinds of ass.--Oranejo 00:32, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
  10. Red XIII isn't a cat, but he is bad-ass. Drake Clawfang
  11. Vermandois Red was one of the few characters I could stand in 7. Plus, he just looks awesome.
  12. Real Genius. Red is much, much smarter than Kimahri and has better limits. Kimahri has to Overdrive just to use blue magic.
  13. Faethinverba volant :Nanaki was the most interesting character in FFVII.
  14. Duh (5) --SCM
  15. Nanaki, hands down. He's my best character in FFVII. --Tex HOWDY!!! 04:08, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
  16. Tragedian Red XIII is definitely the coolest feline in all the FF series.
  17. Fuck Kimhari! Tidus and the others should of listened to Seymour and killed Kimhari to save their asses. Because of that, we all have to fight Seymour Flux. Stupid bastard! Red XIII is AWESOME! Squallinoa 08 04:23, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
  18. ChaosEsperVII Red because although he got no love in AC or DC, he is smarter and can maul you to pieces. Plus 500 yrs later, he does not look like something you want to mess with.
  19. Dark Raven: Kimahri sucks.
  20. Skoot85 Nanaki. Although it was weird when they were explaining that Nanaki's real name was Nanaki but wtv.
  21. RIhya - That was an easy choice... Red is one of the coolest characters in FFVII, has some great Limit Breaks, and a cool background story... Plus, as someone said already, 500 years later he looks fuckin' badass!
  22. Ameria My Vote Goes Here.
  23. Yzz Definitely Nanaki, completely hands down on this one. He has a much better story than Kimarhi, and I personally think he's more useful/fun in battle. Plus, dude, it's like... RED XIII!
  24. Dancing Daggers Unlike Kimahri, Red XIII was NOT a completely useless party member.
  25. Kami strife I'm sorry, Kimahri, but I gotta side with Nanaki on this one. Kimahri's cool, but Nanaki's just badass.
  26. OwlEye Smart animals beat stupid people
  27. ChiefKakashi: Because Red's just better.
  28. Red XIII was my first favorite character in the whole series. He's amazing, and plus he almost was subject to tran-species-reproduction... I think we ought to give him a hand! CinnaMan
  29. RedCapGo Red XIII He is awesome
  30. Chocobo Knight: I like both, but I like Red more. End of. And also, I'm annoyed Red hasn't didn't get more of a speaking role in AC and DoC.
  31. dudutsai: Kimarhi was so useless.... and Red XIII was cool
  32. UVS: Let me see here: one of the few animal characters in the history of the series, looks cool and Kimhari doesn't sound too much of a dragoon and looks too mystic even for me. So my vote goes to Red XIII
  33. DB
  34. Murasame77:I like 'em both but Nanaki always was and still is one of my favourite fighters.
  35. Maverick Riot: I like both too, but just Red a little bit more. If they were to take Red out of FFVII, and Kimahri out of FFX, I'd miss Red XIII a lot, lot more.
  36. BritBoy: I also like both but Red was my fav FFVII character, he was the oldest and smartest member of the group and he was a voice of reason, plus Cosmo Memory was an awesome Limit Break, plus he had a British voice actor in AC (even though he had like one line - wtf?!)
  37. Terra_Homing: He was in my original ff7 party and his limit was the one that killed Safer Sephiroth, of course I'm going to vote for Nanaki!
  38. Ultima The High Seraph Red XII alll the way
  39. Goldberry2000: The game may be over-fanboyed, but this is one character that makes the game. The backstory for XIII was brilliant and he was one of those characters that I always regretted not keeping in my party, but that ultimately got replaced by Cid once he became available. No cheap FFX character was ever going to win against him.
  40. Rocking Chair I used Red XIII more then once
  41. Sora G. Strife: Nanaki rocks.
  42. MardukKurios: Right after you get him his is my second Party member until the end of the game. He is strong in Attack and Magic and something special! x3
  43. AvaGirl: Kimahri SUCKS. :P
  44. Blykus: I like both characters, but my vote goes to Red XIII for nostalgia's sake.
  45. Masamune: The easiest decision I've made all day. Yes, deciding to have Coke or water with lunch was harder than this. (I went with water, by the way. It's healthier.)
  46. Theentertainer: This is so one sided I'm surprised this made it through the suggestion filter. NANAKI RULES!!
  47. Mr_Darkside:Red wins hands down!
  48. SilverSummoner: Red XIII got more IQ and Vocabulary than Kimahri...

  1. RedXIII isn't particularly my favorite character, but I do love FFVII. Also, Kimahri fails at whatever he chooses to be compared to the original counterpart (like Tidus' or Lulu's part of the sphere grid). I would have chosen kimahri if would be more like a red mage of the FFX party (having all of their skills available to him). ^-^
  2. Well, Nanaki gets my vote. I find his problem with his father very interesting, and to learn the truth after going through the cave, I really liked it. And besides, I like the Cosmo Canyon song and its variations, Great Warrior and Red XIII's Theme.
  3. I like Nanaki. He is like we never had seen in any other Final Fantasy. Also he is very kind and relieable. And Im always thinking that it must be tough for him, surviving all of his friends and comrades...;.;
  4. I love FVII so i love Red XIII. I like also FFX but Kimahri SUCKS!!!
  5. I´m like in love with FFVII, and Nanaki(red XII)is so awsome but i like kimahri too but Nanaki his cooler in some ways xD
  6. Nanaki kicks all non Moggle playable animal characters.
  7. It's cat. That can talk. And anything else that any human can do. Or more. Need I say more?
  8. my favourite line after the intense retelling of cloud's 'past' while everyone leaves kalm all disturbed and stressed 'what a nice story' :P oh and the bit where he found seto's statue in the cave made me cry a little so he wins
  9. He's the only non-human character (besides Vivi of course) that has managed to make me weep. Infact his story was one of the most emotionally affecting of FF7. Kimhari was... just a bit dull to be honest, he spends most of the game with a frown on his face whilst Red manages to express character and you actually care about what happened to him in his past. Red may not be the most human looking of the two, but his emotions and character development make Kimhari look as human as a potato
  10. As if anyone from FFX matters. 65.189.222.216 00:24, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
  11. Kimhari is the most useless blue mage ever. So my vote goes to Nanaki.
  12. I'm tied of everyone saying Kimhari is a great blue mage, okay maybe, but this is FFVII anyone can be what ever you want the to be. Add enemy skill materia to Red XIII and there he's a blue mage and a far better one too. Besides Red rocks :)

Votes for Kimahri

  1. Henryacores^ - Me like Kimahri. Kimhari no cub. Kimhari strong.
  2. Aleria I'm voting for Kimahri partially because I feel bad for him 'cause everyone's going to vote for Nanaki/Red XIII... and partially because I'm finally playing FFX.
  3. Arcanedude34 I used Kimahri more... Red XII shone when he was first introduced and in Cosmo Canyon... then forgotten for the rest of the game almost... At least Kimahri had a purpose to be in the group besides his grandfather telling him to...
  4. Deadlyslashsword: Let the rage of the Ronso guide Kimahri's spear.
  5. Aruki I'm gonna have to side with Kimahri on this one.
  6. Unlike Red XIII, Kimahri was NOT a completely useless party member.--Zephyrus11 05:10, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
  7. --AnonyMan 04:10, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
  8. DVardonir: I'm voting for Kimhari because I'm not voting for Anakin, I mean Nanaki.
  9. Duh Steve C // talk // email // 11:01, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
  10. HELLO! WHITE WIND! MIGHTY GUARD! BAD BREATH!!!!! I know Red can use these but so can anyone in FF7. Kimahri is INVALUABLE! Lord Eliwood 17:54, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
  11. Pikmin Master: Who needs to get hit with Blue Magic if you can just steal it using a draining move? Kimahri is thus better than someone who needs a sphere to end up getting hit for Blue Magic, err...Enemy Skills.
  12. Charles-leonhart: Kimahri would definitely win. He has posable thumbs. He is also blue and that is my favorite color. but putting that aside I believe He is way more useful than red XIII.
  13. -Alarielle-: Kimahri juste is cooler, more useful than red XIII. At least he has useful special abilities (blue magic…)
  14. -CosmicWizardAshley-: I like Kimahri more. He isn't useless in battle like Red's voters say, and its because of the versatility of the sphere grid system which means kimahri will only suck if you make him sucky. Plus, Nova is a pretty awesome thing to learn xD
  15. Mr. Rojo: well i like both, both are powerfull and useful if you work them. But since Kimahri is losing i will go with him.
  16. Krystal: Kimahri rules! Enough said.
  17. I feel that Kimahri had better character development. I became more concerned with Kimahri than I did with XIII's character. Deoxyribose
  18. Red and Kimari are my favorite characters in the series and its tough choosing between them, but seeing as kimari is losing im gonna give him a hand, and all the people calling kimari dumb, um how many of you have helped save the world from a giant flying whale whos your friends dad, please speak up....oh none of you...i mean i can wait if someones mouth is full...still none okay, so shut up okay Eternal Twilight
  19. Vestras - Kimahri gets my vote only because I actually found him useful in battle. It's not much, but it's enough of an edge.
  20. Rydiaofmist: I like Kimahri. He was extremely devoted to Yuna. Also, I have a soft spot for victims of bullying. And for the record, I don't think that Kimahri was stupid at all. He just came from a different race that had a different way of speaking.
  21. FinalAnnihilator: I loved FFX more than anything, even though FFVII was, even the best of Square's games, so my vote goes to Kimahri Ronso! Kimahri is also pretty "cool" even though he's a Ronso, and my favourite quote is: "Save some for Kimahri!" before you fight Seymour in Gagazet!!
  22. CidTheFirst: If you know how to guide him on a sphere grid he can tear it up.
  23. Master Conjurer: Pitiful Red XIII! Howl alone! Howl alone!

  1. I think Kimahri would win hands down. Because anything Red XIII can do Kimahri can do as well, not to mention all of Kimahri's powers he has anyway, Kimahri would easily win.... as long as he doesn't use self-destruct
  2. I like Nanaki, but Kimahri just had more use in battle for me. Besides, I love Blue Mages for the challenge of getting all their techniques. :)
  3. A pity vote plain and simple even though FFVII is going to run away with another colosseum fight for no reason.
  4. This is basically a matter of FF7 vs FF10. FF7 wins. Always will. Poor Blue Cat thing.
  5. Gotta go with Kimarhi on this one. Red man have been the original kickass cat-thing, but nothing he just doesn't carry the same weigh in fighting to me as Kimarhi did, especially the fight against Biran and Yenke. - Musashi
  6. Kimahri speak funny. 'Nuff said.
  7. His overdrives can be spammed actually. With the right combination , kimahri can actually spam nova each random encounter eviscerating every enemy with 99999 damage for easy training. Kimahri no useless. lolz.
  8. Kimahri is pretty awesome ^^ Nothing against red, but the boy in blue wins hands down.
  9. Kimahri may no speak well but he's not an idiot, and he's certain one of the only bearable(and coolest) characters in FFX. Plus he's got Blue Magic that's awesome. Also you can't deny that his personal event on Gagazet or whatever wasn't badass.
  10. I like Khimari although he didn't have a big role in FFX.

Why was the last fight a draw? Agrias clearly won, even if it is by only one vote. BlueLionheart 23:01, 18 September 2008 (UTC)BlueLionheart

Ties may be called if the victor won by a margin of 10% or less. 8bit 23:19, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
I'm getting sick of these ties. If this fight ends in a tie, next weak TacticAngel should put a fight between Vivi and Umaro to break this ugly streak. --BlueHighwind 23:25, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
Third time's the charm? Someone will actually win one day. --Gamer2127 23:34, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
Heh, Balthier V. Vaan Cloudofdarkness ^_^
Those are the rules, much as I would prefer Agrias to have won, again. As for the rule, as stated previously, it is in the community's best interest. -- T·A·C·T·I·C·A·N·G·E·L
This one will be a landslide anyway. --SCM 03:59, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Just wanna say, Red XIII - I firmly believe he's a reference to Japanese "yokai". You don't believe me, read up on Wikipedia and tell me, especially considering how anime portrays yokai - humanoid animals, sentient, supernatural, long-lived, etc. Drake Clawfang

I'm gonna have to hold off on voting for now. This is definitely a tough call. Deoxyribose

Ugh... this fight sucks. Red XIII is clearly much better than Kimahri, but then, everyone else is clearly much better than Red XIII. What I'm saying is that this fight is kinda low-brow when compared to some of the other colosseum fights. Dancing Daggers

Not necessarily. Kimahri was trained as a warrior. Red XIII rams your face. It seems even, seeing as Red XIII probably learned fighting from his father as a pup or something. Or are you just saying this because you just don't like Kimarhi? Otens
Hardly anyone consider's the DNC to be a real fight. --Gamer2127 01:04, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
I don't like Red,but I like Kimahri even less. Ergo my opinion is that Red is the better of the two. I just think that neither character has much going for them; it's not an interesting fight, unlike the Black Mage-White Mage fight a couple of weeks ago. Dancing Daggers

P.S. This is a "colosseum", therefore I consider the poll to be a "fight".

charles-leonhart I hate that so many people vote for a character just because they were in final fantasy 7.

Rocking Chair I actually have nothing to vot3ew either of them on. I couldnt really care about either of them. Both have worse then them (Rikku and Cait Sith) but both never really had much going for them.

Deadlyslashsword I wish people would stop calling Kimahri dumb just because he doesn't speak in complete sentences. HE'S NOT HUMAN, OKAY? His speaking is not going to be perfect. Besides, he's smart enough to learn blue magic, isn't he?

No. Chewbacca is not stupid because he can't speak English. He's a Wookie, and is physically incapable of speaking human languages. Kimahri on the other hand is perfectly capable of proper speech, but is too stupid to learn how. Maester Kelk Ronso can talk like an intelligent creature, why can't Kimahri? Because Kimahri is an idiot, that's why. --BlueHighwind 01:40, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
Kelk is an exception. I'm pretty sure all the other Ronso but him speak like Kimahri does. That doesn't prove he's stupid, and he's never shown as being stupid either. Given Kimahri's character why would he bother with speaking properly. You no need speak good to be cool as hell, look at Quina. AnonyMan
I don't think using Quina as an example is going to help prove your point. I liked Quina, but judging by other people's user pages he/she/it is probably one of the most hated characters in the series. --Oranejo 02:50, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
I know, it sucks. There are people out there who are enlightened and respect Quina, though...just not alot. AnonyMan
Yet Quina is an idiot as well. But he's/she's a member of a species of evil greedy freaks with the brain capacity of a 2-year-old. So it isn't Quina's fault that he/she is a fucking dunce. It is Kimahri's fault though. --BlueHighwind 13:11, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
Quina's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she'll school you in the Culinary arts. Stop acting like Ronso are a super advance race, they aren't that different from Qu's actually, except differing values. Since all the other ronso talk like Kimahri they all must be idiots too, huh? AnonyMan
Apparantly not: Kelk Ronso, for example. Most Ronso may be genetically inclined towards being idiots, but they are not all stupid. Kimahri happens to be a member of the low end of a low species. --BlueHighwind 20:40, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
And yet Auron entrusts Yuna to him? Sorry but I'm going to have to side with Auron on this one. I'm pretty sure he knew what he was doing. Not to mention- The ability to learn blue magic = Not dumb. - Deadlyslashsword
I don't think Kimahri's speech is indicative of stupidity. It's just the manner in which Ronso speak. Kelk is the exception as he is a Maester, and is likely obligated to speak in a more formal manner. Deoxyribose
Oh come on. Kimahri isnt stupid. He plays the quiet aggressive looking character. Kinda like batman. but more animalistic.Charles-leonhart
Although I don't like Kimahri, Yoda doesn't speak in complete sentences. End of Conversation. And Red XIII shouldn't be capable of talking yet he does. But the ronsos aren't stupid they're just primitive. But Red XIII is smarter than any Ronso. And yes this is a matter between ff7 and ffx because cast of main game FFVII>insert name. ChaosEsperVII
1. The ability to learn Blue Magic does not equate to intelligence (Quina, Yuffie, Cait Sith, Bartz). 2. Auron most likely entrusted Yuna to Kimahri not for the Wookie's smarts, but for the fact that he's a six foot beast man. Would you fuck with a six foot beast man? I would, but that doesn't really prove anything. 3. Yoda speaks in completely sentences, just insideout. --BlueHighwind 12:11, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
That is true, therefore ronsos= not too bright. ChaosEsperVII
1. Yeah, 'cause learning something doesn't take any ability whatsoever. Plus, Bartz wasn't dumb, just naive (And no, they're not the same thing). Oh, and I see you didn't include Quistis on your list? End of argument. 2. Brain over brawn, as the saying goes. 'Nuff said. Try basing your arguments on anything other than speculation next time. 3. I'll agree with you on this one. Still, not being able to talk correctly has no direct correlation to your intelligence. If Albert Einstein had a major speech impediment, would you call him dumb? According to what I've seen here, you would. - Deadlyslashsword
Kimahri's smart enough to have a method of obtaining Blue Magic without getting his ass hit with the first. And I think you're confusing Ignorance and plain stupidity or just hate Kimahri so much you don't want to say anything nice about him. Anyway point is, you can't guage someone's intelligence on how they speak. AnonyMan
Guys, Kimahri is smart but he wasn't taught 'language' he was taught how to fight and survive(Also, Ronso history but does that matter really?) Do you guys really enjoy arguing to make a meaningless point about a character? Otens
No, we argue because we all think we're right. Just like any other fucking argument. - Deadlyslashsword
I know for a fact that I'm wrong. But I just like bashing Kimahri. --BlueHighwind 00:30, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Acquiring abilities does not equate to intellect either. Kimahri is just whatever. I'm bashing him so we can have stupid arguments again. Plan worked. The 7th Chaos Esper pwns. ChaosEsperVII
Good enough for me.Enjoy// Otens
For the record, I don't like Kimahri either, but if you two seriously enjoy antagonizing us for the sake of arguing...whatever. Nothing I say is going to stop you from doing it. Just don't mess with me. Then I'll have a problem. - Deadlyslashsword
Newb. ChaosEsperVII
Not in the slightest. - Deadlyslashsword
Belly button picker. ChaosEsperVII
Oh, real mature. How old are you, five? - Deadlyslashsword

Red XIII's an Idiot because he follows someone like Cloud Strife around. The rest of the VII cast must not be too bright either since they do so too and let him lead. Haha! Anony

Don't forget that Barret often complains about that. He wanted to be the leader. And Tifa and Aeris are apparently blinded by love, so they aren't thinking too clearly. Red XIII may be 48, but he's the equivalent of a 15 or 16 year old, so the judgment part of his brain hasn't developed yet. Vincent is too into himself to care. Cid...Wait, why doesn't Cid take charge? Huh...Anyway, Cait Sith and Yuffie are just too stupid too live. --ChiefKakashi 21:30, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
I see. Yeah, I agree. FFVII's crew for the most part blows huge chunks. AnonyMan
And we are hating the FFVII party why? Because you guys probably don't use them properly? Maybe if the remake comes out they won't be as dumb? Or maybe you guys need to look up the plotline a little more carefully? Krystal Tomlin
That argument makes no sense, as FFVII's characters are nearly identical in terms of function in battle. The same does not apply in FFX until the end of the game. In any case, being an FFVII anti-fanboy is just as annoying as being an FFVII fanboy. Deoxyribose
Hey, I said for the most part, there's a small number of good characters same with X's party. Not everyone dislikes FFVII for the sake of disliking FFVII I like it more than FFX. AnonyMan
the only good characters are Auron, Tidus, and Yuna. And Wakka and rikku are only useful for overdrives, but wakka is annoying so i used rikku more. In the beginning, everyone has their uses, but towards the end the first three are the best. In VII, all the fighters are balanced except Cloud, Tifa, Vincent, and Aeris. Cid is the epitome of balanced. the rest are still useful anyways: Barret for power, tanking, and limits; Yuffie for power and magic; Red XIII for power and magic; and Cait Sith for tanking, power, and magic. I'd say VII and VIII's casts are the most useable. I guess XII's as well because they are all the same. ChaosEsperVII
Hey, don't get me wrong, I love the FFVII party! (Especially Tifa) That's why I'm making excuses for them. :P --ChiefKakashi 21:16, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
I'm looking forward to XIII's party, from the looks of it, XIII and Versus could have one of the better casts of characters. ChaosEsperVII
FFXIII's definitely going to be a kick ass cast. Just look at Lightning in the trailers! I really want to see the rest of the cast, though. So far we only have three :( I hope there's more! I don't like it when there's only a few main characters, like the early games <.< Yzz 15:48, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Smae here, especially if the few characters suck. I hope there's more characters, Lightning and the other 2 are pretty lame to me. Then again I stopped having high hopes for casts after FFX(XII surprised me), who knows though, maybe XIII could have my second favorite FF cast. AnonyMan

The score's 56 to 28, it's obvious who's gonna win, can we end this yet? --SCM 22:27, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
