Uwee hee hee hee! Welcome, editors, to the Dragon's Neck Colosseum! My name is Ultros the receptionist, and each week I'm taking bets as to who will win in a tussle between two characters from the Final Fantasy series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll, really. The Colosseum owner stuck me on this duty after Kefka was defeated, but I need the money! So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

While I like both, my vote goes for Cecil.CecilAxel 18:22, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
They're both good characters, but Cecil is far more outrageous~~ ZaFlareStar 20:32, 2nd February 2012, (GMT+2)
Such a hard choice! Both amazing characters but I like Cecil a bit more and I definitively prefer FF4 to FF8, but I still like FF8.Kaintheflaminglancer 21:35, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
Don't really mind Squall. He's not very cool until later in the game and he doesn't become that much better. Cecil's the same except he was okay from the start. I'll go with C-Man, 4's story wasn't all over the place and it doesn't have a shoddily developed romance.AnonyMan 22:46, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
Cecil hands down.Dissidian 23:00, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
Squall might be better in battle, but Cecil has by far the better personality. And not anywhere near as much Twilightesque romantic drivel. CATUSE 00:01, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
I don't understand the hate for Cecil. The fact that he can maintain his cool through betrayals and repeatedly forgive the actions of others (some in Mysidia never forgave him) makes him a strong character. On top of that, for combat purposes, Cecil is capable of taking on Odin alone and winning, when Odin fights back. (I've done it.) Finally, paladin into porn. Amusing and a nice twist to his otherwise holy character.Dogurasu 01:06, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
The half-lunarian paladin versus the guy with a gunblade who I must admit I know nothing about, outside of Dissidia? I would say Cecil would win. He seems to be far more powerful, and looks cooler. He also appears in the superior game series. Shade.Usher 01:53, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
Cecil easily. Also TAY didn't SPIT on his redemption, spoilers. The creator brought back his darkness, he already overcame and defeated it, how is that an "apiphany" that he shouldn't have let it go?? Another thing is that people say that Cecil gets no more development after Mt. Ordeals. WRONG. PLAY THE GAME. He gets development in the form of Golbez, FuSoYa and his heritage ALL the way to the end of the game with his farewell to Golbez. So that's crap when people say that he only develops during the first half of the game.Tinks1 02:14, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

Cecil would win hands down. You can't compare game mechanics from VIII with IV. Also for the person who said that Cecil gets more and more pathetic as IV goes on. I'd like to see you beat FFIV WITHOUT Cecil. Sure you could with Kain, Rydia, Rosa and Edge but when it comes down to it Cecil is BY FAR the best character overall to have in battle. You can't beat Zeromus with three characters at around level 60 unless Cecil and Rosa were in it. Also around level 70 Cecil and Rosa could take on Zeromus with just them two. Like I said beat IV with a three man group without Cecil and then we'll talk. Cecil is not only the best character from the game plot-wise but also best character in battle. Tl;dr, Cecil would wipe the floor with Squall's lame emo ass.22.214.171.124 23:10, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
While FAR from a FFVIII fanboy (in fact, it's one of my least favorite games of the series,) props must be given to the man who does his best for everyone while trying to do it alone. Also props for managing to remain sane while "traveling" with Bartz and Zidane. Plus, he has a cool father. King of Noobs 14:23, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
Well this has more to deal with 1. In battle Cecil is the most pathetic and often completely useless character, Squall remains balanced throughout the game where Cecil becomes more and more pathetic as the game progresses (due to his lack of any strength, defense or useful abilities). Two; while Cecil has the better personality, Squall has Laguna...nuff said User:Sutebenukun/Sutebenukun 10:27, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
Cecil would get his pansy ass kicked so ridiculously fast. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 18:14, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
Squall is easily the best fighter in ff8; especially considering the damage potential of Renzokuken: Lionheart. Squall is also a very dynamic character who undergoes great change throughout the story of ff8. Cecil changes symbolically by becoming a Paladin; but his attitude is essentially the same from the beginning. Also, Cecil may have saved the blue planet and the moon(s), but Squall saved Earth for his time period; and for THE FUTURE. --Time Master 21:19, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
FFVIII is entirely built around the development of Squall. Discs 1-3 are a character examination, and it works. Cecil, meanwhile, only gets development in the first arc. Squall is a far more interesting character. ClixPsi 22:08, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
Many people give Squall flak for being whiny and misuse of the "e-word", but he's a far deeper, better developed and more interesting character than people realize, as well as being a strong fighter. Cecil is also a strong fighter, but his path of personal redemption is heavily simplified and entirely forgotten once he becomes a Paladin, and The After Years further kinda spits on his redemption with the apiphany that he was wrong to cast off his darkness. So Squall gets my vote. Drake Clawfang (talk) 00:48, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
Squall is badass with a badass weapon. Although I like Cecil, Squall would have the upper hand in a fight. Vercery 01:36, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
Very tough choice. But I think I'll give Squall my vote. 05:25, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
Cecil Harvey, Dark Knight turned Paladin, faces off against one of the only other Paladins in Final Fantasy to ever score a victory in the DNC, Agrias Oaks, hero of the War of the Lions!
VICTOR CECIL Harvey FINAL FANTASY IV
Votes for Cecil
Cecil redeemed himself from being a Dark Knight, he makes becomeing a Paladin that much better. The Nemesisx 00:41, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Lord Cecil Harvey went from Dark Knight to Paladin, forsaking his bloodstained past. He endured the betrayal of his closest friend and managed in the end to forgive his brother. He led his party throughout an epic quest to save his world from genocide. Agrias is skilled, but she just doesn't stand a chance Dogurasu 01:02, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Once again, Cecil is by far the better choice. Whoever Agrias is can't come close to Cecil's achievements. Not only did he save the world and the moon once, he did it again with his son almost two decades later. Only a true Paladin can accomplish those feats.--Time Master 03:21, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Cecil may have been a great dark knight, but we can all tell that the paladin was a better path for him, he is kind, forgiving, brave, noble, but most of all loving, the true qualities of a paladin. Kaintheflaminglancer 16:20, January 20, 2012 (UTC)
Partially a pity vote because nobody here plays Tactics for some reason, partially because if they had the same damage limit Agrias would beat Cecil every time.CATUSE00:39, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Easily one of the best characters in FFT. She's not much of a character, but neither is Cecil. ...Yeah. ClixPsi 01:48, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Agrias beat Sephiroth. I am of the opinion that if Agrias loses to Cecil, then by that implication, Cecil is better than Sephiroth. This eventuality simply cannot be. Jimcloud 03:21, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Agrias is more awesome. ----BlueHighwindツ 04:44, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
I really can't decide. Free bird 08:59, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Came from a better game. LC 09:29, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
I like Cecil and his abilities, but I just find Agrias better. Pikmin Master 22:29, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
My vote comes for the one that was a Holy Knight since the beginning.Tacticsforever 12:57, January 24, 2012 (UTC)
I agree with Catuse, if we fixed the damage limit, Cecil would be dead, for sure. Ananonperson 10:16, January 27, 2012 (UTC)
Agrias is the most useful character in Tactics until Orlandeau is in the team. Her abilities and motive to follow Ramza in her journey are enough and cover all the personality issue. The only thing that makes Cecil more known is that his game is in the main series and he is the protagonist of FF IV, because if he was a secondary character like Agrias, almost nobody would ever remember him. The True Paladin 11:45, January 28, 2012 (UTC)
Let's think about this for a moment; Cecil as a Paladin can do what? Barely protect someone due to his lack of any defense and use rather rudimentary healing and supportive abilities. What can Agrias do? Now let's look, she can stop people with an ice blade attack, instantly kill someone with divine wrath, silence her loud mouthed enemies with the bolt of Heaven, cause someone to want to repent their sins by dying with her sword of penance (split punch) and oh yeah, reign down the wrath of the Gods upon her enemies...no contest here Sutebenukun 12:00, January 28, 2012 (UTC)
Warning: if you don't vote for her, she will destroy your mind with Divine Ruination!! Tidyunauron 00:50, January 30, 2012 (UTC)
I'm voting to show my love for Tactics.--126.96.36.199 03:29, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
While she gets very little character development, she's still a more versatile Paladin than Cecil, and Tactics was a great game to boot. 188.8.131.52 04:42, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
184.108.40.206 16:33, January 16, 2012 (UTC) Agrias may not have been as central to the plot of Tactics, after Delita takes Ovelia, but she definitly kicks butt. I'm voting for her because the Lucavi are a heck of a lot scarier than Zeromus. All Hail ULTIMA! MUJAJAJA
220.127.116.11 17:02, January 18, 2012 (UTC) I like them both but I'll go for the one I like a bit more.
192.168.7.1 10:10, January 20, 2012 (UTC) Agrias should be on Dissidia 012 too, as well as Ramza should have been called to the original Dissidia.
Love Agrias. Wonderful character. 18.104.22.168 14:37, January 20, 2012 (UTC)
192.168.25.1 19:14, January 20, 2012 (UTC) Gotta vote for the best Final Fantasy ever!
10.1.1.1 9:44, January 21, 2012 (UTC) GO,go,go,Agrias!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
22.214.171.124 10:08, January 27, 2012 (UTC) If Agrias were as powerful as Orlandu, she would resemble Beatrix, and I love her so much!!!
126.96.36.199 02:39, January 28, 2012 (UTC) Tactics is one of my favorite games.
188.8.131.52 12:00, January 28, 2012 (UTC) I think Cecil should have stayed as a Dark Knight.:)
@Dogu: Nah, she doesn't stand a chance because people never played Tactics. Oh, and sign your votes this time, all ye anonymous users! :DCATUSE01:05, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
I always felt like...Agrias has just hardly any personality. Her whole character is that she is a female knight, which is just a bit more novel than having a male knight. If she was a male knight and still said and did all the same things, no one would remember this character.Keltainentoukokuu 03:36, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Now, let's be fair here, that's sort of calling the kettle black. Cecil's personality is basically the same as Agrias's, in that it is transparent and vaguely knightly. The only difference is that he happens to be the protagonist of his story, and he kind of has to be redeemed before he can parade around with the same attitude as her. Also, Agrias's personality is kind of novel in FFT, where she is one of like 10 named characters who will not betray or attack you in pursuit of their own goals. Jimcloud 03:49, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
I guess when I said personality I didn't mean the person's actual personality. More like when you say that...house has personality or something. I don't have any strong feelings toward Cecil, but he's alright. He's the typical knight archetype but they add some conflict in his story to bring out different sides of him.Keltainentoukokuu 03:58, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
So I was wrong. Agrias is winning after all.CATUSE17:06, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Ditto, I expected Cecil to dominate like he did in the last round, but its good to see that I'm one of many Agrias fans! Must there be a winner in these Last Man Standing duels? What would happen in case of a tie? Free bird 20:46, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Probably it can only tie if the two have an exact equal amount of points in the end, and that isn't gonna happen.CATUSE22:15, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
This is the biggest Peanut Gallery I've never seen. So I'm one of the main culprits at making it so big, but...CATUSE22:15, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Now that's just depressing. The DNC used to be better than this. Armageddon11! 23:15, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, there was one bigger back at the top of Archive XVIII (Which, curiously, is not on the template at the bottom, no idea why), which was, what, last August? And one that trounces both of them from back in April. Jimcloud 23:25, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Ooooooh it's a tie at the moment, i was expecting this to be a landslide in Cecil's favour, well i guess it just goes to show that he was more bad arse as a Dark Knight XD.The Nemesisx 13:37, January 17, 2012 (UTC)
Scratch that, the tie has been broken, Cecil is winning once again. The Nemesisx 14:06, January 17, 2012 (UTC)
If I did my DNC math correct, it's Cecil:27 to Agrias:25. I'm amazed she's doing so well, to be perfectly honest. The Tactics series isn't as well liked as some others. King of Noobs 14:15, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
Its actually tied once again, if you count all the signed anon votes both of them come up as 29 each way, damn it people, vote for Cecil XD.TheNemesisx 14:18, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
Actually, the anonymous votes each count as one-half a vote (last I checked); thus, Cecil is in the lead by two. Dogurasu 16:09, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
They're pretty close together, so I think they're tied by the 10% clause. CATUSE 23:08, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
Now they're both at 28. I wonder how this'll end, since this is a "Last 'Man' Standing" contest. King of Noobs 14:12, January 24, 2012 (UTC)
(TA will probably get ticked that I'm writing this, but to be frank, I'm gonna bet anons have no idea what are going on): The DNC is currently in a state of flux, without all its ducks in a row as far as management and the like is. So if you see the DNC changing from one fight to another, that's why. CATUSE 00:33, January 25, 2012 (UTC)
So much back-and-forth in this fight. One moment, Cecil has the lead. Next time I check, Agrias has taken control. Next moment, it's back to Cecil. Good fight, we could do with more of these than the one-sided ones. King of Noobs 05:42, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
Methinks more than a few of these last voters are socks. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 06:16, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
It would only make sense that the first two combatants would be the first two from the DNC's original format: Leon and Cecil Harvey, two early Dark Knights from the series. Who will prevail to fight on in Round 2!

I have played to the end both Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy II, and I can say for sure, Cecil has more integrity, is more honorable, has better values, and more loyal to his friends and family than Leon.CecilAxel 21:28, January 1, 2012 (UTC)
Cecil easy. Though all the 4th party members in FFII were much cooler than the main 3, Leon wasn't since he's the original real 4th and thus, just as boring as Firion, Maria and Guy.AnonyMan 04:15, January 2, 2012 (UTC)
