Rules

  • Place new suggestions at The bottom of page. If you place them at the top, they will be lost when we archive the page. You have been warned.
  • TacticAngel has final say over all of the fights.
  • Please do not use talk templates here, as it really slows down the loading times.
  • Check this list for dups before suggesting a new one. Hint: Use the "find" feature to quickly search for names.
  • Only fights between Final Fantasy characters are allowed. Other mediums like Kingdom Hearts, Super Mario RPG, 8-Bit Theater and Chrono Trigger will not be allowed to compete.

Queued

The following were archived and will probably eventually be put up as actual fights some week. They appear in no particular order.

  • Balthier v. Zack
  • Aerith v. Rydia
  • Terra v. Cloud
  • Squall vs. Zidane
  • Zidane v. Balthier
  • Golbez v. Kuja
  • Sephiroth v. Kuja
  • Sabin v. Yang
  • Griever v. Silver Dragon
  • Darkness v. Silence
  • Bahamut SIN v. SIN

Bahamut vs. Tiamat

  6. Mr_Darkside This is too much of a one-sided battle.
  7. Maybe if you had Yiazmat...Judge Balthier 17:28, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
  8. Ayakil - Came, saw, didn't quite conquer. 05:17, 14 March 2009 (UTC) This would be a one way flood for Bahamut. Would have been better using something like Yiazmat as Judge Balthier said.
  9. Sadly, this will be a evident brutal win for Bahamut. Tiamat (Final Fantasy VIII) is the female Bahamut. She appears in various games, usually as a multi-headed dragon boss. I like her "story" in FFVIII. She took the opposite path than Bahamut, voluntary G.F., but joined Ultimecia. Rai Balmung, the gargoyle 00:21, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

  10. Meta-ZWhile I have to admit that the concept is funny, I honestly don't see how Excalipur would win. It does exactly 1 damage, so I don't think Excalibur would lose unless Excalipur got a pre-emptive strike and Excalibur only had 1 HP.

Comment

The difference between Excalipur and Gilgamesh is that Gilgamesh is at least funny whereas Excalipur is simply a useless weapon.AJ Werefang 21:25, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

  11. TheBlueDragoon Its a good matchup. Rosa is one of my favorite characters in the series, and so is Maria.

Reject

  1. Terra_Homing
  2. PaladinCecil 07:31, 28 January 2009 (UTC) Same reason as always; Rosa very likely will not win. People simply do not like her. Plus like last time, I'm not eager to see people who hate her vote for Maria then throw the word "whore" around about Rosa despite how that's the exact opposite of everything the character is like or about.

Comments

PaladinCecil: Stop stirring the goddamn pot and support your favorite character already. This is how debacles like the last one get started. - DeadlySlashSword 17:41, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

I support my favorite character in all things. I do not support situations that will undoubtedly lead to re-stating the obvious (that people don't like her) with some smearing of what she's like thrown in for flavor. PaladinCecil 23:21, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Do you seriously think that she'll lose against any character in the DNC? - DeadlySlashSword 23:32, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
She might have a chance against something people care about even less than her, though I can't think of anything where it wouldn't turn into a case of "LOL let's vote for the Elder Treant because it would be funny to see her lose to a random monster." PaladinCecil 00:04, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
You have to keep in mind that this is a wiki and not just another fansite. People here actually have common sense, and I highly doubt anything like that would happen. You have to learn to trust people more. No person who has actually contributed a fair amount to this wiki wouldn't stoop that low and actually mean it.- DeadlySlashSword 02:23, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Read what people said about Rosa in old DNC matches. These matches are biased. All about favoritism, which is governed by how much characters have been overhyped or slandered since they were created. Rosa will lose. It would be nice to be able to trust people. I've only been given reason not to. I'm tired of seeing how much people hate this character because she's "cliche," or "clingy," or "dresses like a super slut," or whatever else about her gets twisted into negatives. Tired of people acting like she doesn't matter and shouldn't have been created. I'm tired of seeing it, so I'm not supporting another chance for people to take potshots. Done. PaladinCecil 02:40, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Rosa didn't have a chance against Lulu. Against Maria, however, I truly believe that Rosa will win. If this fight makes it to the DNC, you will see for yourself that this is a fair fight. But I know how this will end. If Rosa does win, you'll complain that it was a meaningless victory over a character no one cares about. What you desire can never be obtained. That's why we all want this to be settled once and for all with this fight, and hope that you can be satisfied with that. But deep down, we know you never will, and the eternal struggle will continue. - DeadlySlashSword 03:46, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
What I desire is Rosa not being in the DNC again at all, and instead given a shot at being on the main page in some way that isn't going to be synonymous with "hey, come check out how we all think this other character's a million times better than Rosa." And you're right. The only section that could accomplish that is Featured Articles, and her article will never be one. What I desire can never be obtained. PaladinCecil 03:51, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

I have tried FFIV lots of times and I only get up to the spoony bard each time and then give up because I don't like the game but from what I remember of Rosa in those 1 or two hours she seems really useless being in bed all the time. I don't like this game.--BigCubby 15:52, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Up to "spoony bard" isn't enough time to see all of what she's like, and it takes more than merely watching events unfold to see what Rosa offers to the game. Much of what makes her so special and meaningful is subtle and in the gaps of the game, as opposed to more popular characters where their influence is shoved front and center. PaladinCecil 16:35, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

ROSA WOULD BEAT MARIA DEPENDING ON WHAT SPELLS YOU GIVE MARIA ROSA USES SHELL PROTECT REFLECT WALL BLINK YOU NAME IT AND THEN MARIA CAN'T TOUCH HER WITH ANYTHING THEN ROSA JUST CASTS HOLY THE REST OF THE TIME.

TA, if you're reading this, don't let these comments influence your decision. We can be mature, you know. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 03:58, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Meta-Z: I would vote for Rosa. In fact, I'd vote for just about anybody. The only people I would never vote for are Sphiroth and Cloud, simply because I think those two are highly overrated.

She was bad because she used to be a Gestahlian General - you even see her alongside Gestahl in Terra's memories early in the game. That's why Kefka suggests she was a double-agent in the Magitek factory and why he offers to take her back on the Floating Continent. RowdyCMoore

I wouldn't really consider that bad. Just a different side.--BigCubby 19:32, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Fair enough, but you can say the same about Cecil. Ultimately, they're both commanders with good hearts forced to do bad things by their rulers (Cecil invades Mysidia, Celes torches Maranda), and their guilt drives them to rebel against those rulers. That's probably a better way to describe these two. Rowdy

@Alarielle: Nah, he (spoilers ahead) is just a human experiment who went mad and burned a city down to ashes, killed a man who standed by there, and then almost killed his comrade. Later he just took control over the most destructive alien organism the multiverse had ever known, absorbed all its powers and used them to make it his puppet. With it he killed the president of the organisation that ruled the world. He impaled a giant serpent with this puppet and then he attracted all the alien cells that were scattered all around the world to the place where he was crystalized (that means he did this all without even moving), not to mention he killed a main protagonist. Later gained control over the protagonist's mind so he would give him an artifact to destroy the entire world. Inmediatly after he summoned a giant meteorite to gain even more power and be what normal people calls "god", thus awakening some organisms that could blow the planet away if they tried, and he didn't die even when the protagonist sliced him to death. You're right, that's nothing to be fond of. --- User: Zak Undersn --- 16:12, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

And yet Auron resisted both death and the fate of the undead in exactly the same manner as his game's greatest and second-greatest villains, while using the most destructive force in two or more universes as a mode of travel. And all of that was AFTER he crawled all the way up and all the way down a mountain with a fatal would and was still intelligible enough to convince a less-than-fluent-in-Spiran and extremely stubborn Ronso with childhood issues to change his entire life goal to protecting some toddler all the way across the world. Face it. This is a battle between the hero and villain versions of cool. MasterConjurer 02:07, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, whatever, but he's from FFX. Even though Auron might be the character I consider less scum-y from FFX. In fact, when i said "c) It's Auron" I was thinking in "c) It's FFX" --- User: Zak Undersn --- 18:12, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Did you ever beat FFX? MasterConjurer 22:51, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Should I? I mean, I watched the whole "final dungeon" (Sin), the lamest final battle ever, the ending and those things. If I stopped playing when Sin used Ultramegadupersupergravija and killed all my party because his e-penis was too big to fit into the game was because I already knew what was going to happen after that and I loved (and still love) too much my eyes and mind to destroy them like that by watching it happen again. Anyway, if I didn't, how would that help? --- User: Zak Undersn --- 22:13, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
So you didn't finish it because you hate it for beating you?! That is the lamest, saddest, most emo thing I have ever heard! You, sir (or madam), are quite literally (that is, by definition) a loser! Not to mention that I and many, many others won that battle on the first try.
First: sign your edits. Second: I like Sin, I don't want to kill it. He's maybe the most charismatic character on the game. Third: I don't care losing, but if I lose only because the enemy had the caprice of using an attack that would kill me even if I had max HP, I just think the game is even more poor than I thought. Fourth: FFX is lame in almost every way (exclude battle and Aeon systems and the rest is just... amazingly boring). Fifth: Can you read my last edit? I already knew what was going to happen, and I thought that my mind was having enough trouble just accepting Seymour as a character. FFX's ending is just a failure of epic proportions, why would someone want to watch it twice? Why would I bother trying to beat Sin if I just didn't wanted to see again what was going to happen? FFX just doesn't deserve it.
You are entitled to your own opinion. That just doesn't change the fact that Final Fantasy X is—and always will be—the greatest game conceived by a human being. MasterConjurer 20:18, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
You liked FFX-2 (and what is worse: you enjoyed it), that means your criteria is pretty messed up. And, anyway, did you hear that? It was me loling.--- User: Zak Undersn --- 23:29, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
I've had the rare treat of enjoying every one of the games. There are others here who have, as well. Here's a hint at how to do it: don't cheat by looking up the endings before you've proven yourself worthy. Also, stop jacking off to long haired men in leather. MasterConjurer 23:51, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
What are you, some kind of awareness knight of ye olde times? I didn't watched it because I wanted to, you know. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, two years after FFX was released, everyone knew the FFX ending, and a friend just beat the final dungeon to show me how lame Yu Yevon was. And, in fact, he is, like the entire game. --- User: Zak Undersn --- 00:25, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Yu Yevon was easy for a reason. It occurs right after a harder battle after which you can't save. I don't even consider it the practical end boss. Also, the ending story was awesome. When it was first reached in my neighborhood, weeping was involved. (There were many people in the room, and of both genders.) It is a more touching scene than any movie ever created could match, and Nobuo Uematsu's favorite ever (He said so). That's actually why people play X (and don't make fun of this reason). It's because it has the best story, supported by the best technology to bring out the story. MasterConjurer 00:43, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
I don't even know where should I start laughing. --- User: Zak Undersn --- 00:51, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
I started laughing way up there. Were you taking this conversation seriously? I only wanted to humorously mirror your comment above, but you kept replying. To be perfectly honest, I don't really know you well enough to insult you, in my opionion. MasterConjurer 00:54, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
I never take anything seriously. And less on internet. But boy, if you really believe all those things you said you should look for professional help. And I say this seriously indeed. FFX's story is about a boy who's a dream and whose name isn't even mentioned during the game, a girly who summons things, Booby McBreasts the gothic guardian who gets married with a orange-haired freak, an animal thing without horn, a stupid girl who steals, a dead bodyguard and a gay enemy who looks like a collage of all other FF villains on an emo rage. How would that be good, and how can that be touching? You must be kidding, I refuse to believe someone could take that seriously. The game was entertaining thanks to the ability and battle systems, I dont hate it, it's just the story is awful. I left it unfinished because I didn't have any reason to beat it. And I've been laughing since the first post, why wouldn't I? --- User: Zak Undersn --- 01:08, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Although I was exaggerating some info about it, I did enjoy the game. Please don't let your disliking of it intrude too far upon my liking of it. MasterConjurer 01:40, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Sin vs. The Undying

The two most powerful villains from the latest Final Fantasy game. I think this'll be a good fight. Sin's raw power against the more calculated destructive power of The Undying.

  1. I say why not. But they aren't the most powerful, trust me. Sin's last form usually survives for 1 turn. The second one, he dies. -Alarielle- 20:53, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

By two most powerful i just meant that they were the final bosses/main villains. but thanks, do i put my bit in support too even though i suggested it?

Yes, you can support your own suggestions. By the way, Sin is neither the main villain (Seymour) nor the final boss (Yu Yevon) of its game. MasterConjurer 20:39, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

i'd have said that seymour was a main villain, but Sin was the main villain. Sin is the thing that the entire world of spira and the plot revolves around. he's the cause of seymour's villainy etc... that to me makes him more of a villain. and he's done far more harm to the world than seymour did, even in the course of the game. more damage to the characters even. and yu yevon doesn't really count as a final boss to me either, even though he technically is, because it's impossible to lose, and BFA isn't as powerful as Sin. I'm actually not even talking about the boss fights, i dunno why i'm rambling on. I meant more like just the movies etc. Like at operation mi'hen for sin, when he beats all the machina and kills all the crusaders, or the bit when vayne becomes the undying, and he destroys an airship easily, but completely by accident. sorry... went on a bit there. lol.

Yuna VS Kaze

Hmm I don't know if this was already done but I think this will be fine. Yuna was a summoner turned gunner; Kaze is summoner who use guns. (Magun)(he uses the SCT to summon) see who will win.

  • Ok just to make it clear Kaze was a character from FF-UNLIMITED anime
    • And just to get away from the headaches of VII VS VIII fights
      • SCT= Soil Charge Triad

They don't have to be related. Yiazmat is THE superboss to own all other superbosses, IMHO. He is in FFXII I did this because they're both dragons and Bahamut needs a real challenge. Judge Balthier 19:29, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Bahamut will need a real challenge for a long time to come. That challenge is not coming from XII, and I doubt it's coming from XIII. //masterConjurer (Talk) 00:43, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

You can vote for the one you like more, the point is that Rinoa fans claim Rinoa has it the worst. I was thinking of weird DNC fights to propose and these were the craziest hair styles that I knew of. I see your point though, let me know if you have a replacement for Cloud's hair. SilverDragon28 21:48, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

All I did to get this list was go through the 3-D games' lists of characters and I think that these might work. You can chose:
  • Reno might be recognised, but the chances of people voting for him just for his character are very slim.
  • Zack Fair has a very good chance of being recognised and might have the same problem as Cloud, but not as bad.
  • Zidane Tribal also might be recognised, but his hair is too crazy to pass up.
  • Kuja is a definite option, especially in his tranced form.
  • Amarant Coral also has crazy hair.
I hope you can choose from those. - Ninja of Wind Ninja of Wind2- 00:35, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
I choose Amarant, am I allowed to just change this fight, or do I have to make a new one? SilverDragon28 20:54, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
I think it would be best to make a new one and attach a "see below" thing onto this one. I guess you could change this one, but that would mean errassing what people have already wrote. That's either against the rules, or just annoying having to vote a second time. - Ninja of Wind Ninja of Wind2- 23:36, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Fencer vs Paladin

Fast and evasive against slow and powerful. (Too bad FF doesn't have Mammoth Tanks.)

Support

Reject

  1. I see where your comming from with this, but there isn't much of a gap between characters' evasion in FF gameplay, so in that respect this battle would be based on brute strength only and Paladin would win before the fight started. In a popularity contest, you have another problem. There arn't many fencers out there. Just the ones from FFT and FFTA where the characters literally have no personality, so paladin would win again just based on that some have some depth as characters. - Ninja of Wind Ninja of Wind2- 23:26, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
  2. People are gonna see this as Fencer vs Cecil. It's a good idea in the head, but the DNC would make it stupid quick. //masterConjurer (Talk)_ 04:45, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Comments

Point taken on lack of Fencer characters. I suggested this fight and can only think of one actual character whose native job is a Fencer. But "Ninja" just wouldn't work. That's not evasiveness, its stealth. (If you aim your attack at the wrong spot, that doesn't make the intended target evasive, it makes you incompetent.) And although this part is totally pointless, because people would go for the characters anyway, the idea was a random-unit Paladin fighting a random-unit Fencer.

I wasn't suggesting "ninja", its just part of my user name. See? - Ninja of Wind Ninja of Wind2- 00:40, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Isn't it nice to have everyone know your favorite job? (Check my name out →) //masterConjurer (Talk)_ 04:45, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
I didn't mean to imply that you were suggesting "ninja." There are just only two real jobs that have high Evasion. (Assassin is really just a copy of being a Ninja that can't get Doublesword in Tactics Advance and is therefore useless.) And this was supposed to be an "evasion vs power" type fight. Also, maybe I should have come up with a different way of saying that, possibly "Skill vs brute force" or something.

Assassin is not the same as ninja. Ninja just gets to throw(and a few elemental magic; that's useless). Assassin can instant KO. Also fencer never seemed that fast to me. AJ Werefang 18:03, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Really? Maybe the units I was using as Fencers just happened to have a really high innate Speed stat, or had Big Boss's genes, or something. (And to those who didn't get the Metal Gear reference, sorry. But I won't explain because it will take too long.) Also, Instant KO in FFTA takes 3 turns, which makes it as annoyingly stupid as "Jump" in some of the numbered games, because by the time it kicks in, the target's already gone down.
I disagree with much of that. 1.Since this is basically FFTA we are talking about here, the ninja's elemental attacks are a lot more useful than the other games they appeared in because of the status effect bonus. Status effects can save your life in that game because of their unusually high hit rate. 2.Speed isn't what we should be talking about here. Speed only defines when each character will attack and that's it. Evasiveness is the real issue, where the fencer can learn the reaction ability Reflex to block all standard "fight" moves. Unfortunately for this conversation, paladins can learn Reflex as well. 3.The thing about the time it takes to instant KO, well that doesn't matter. The assassin is one of the best status effect users in the game, so weakening the opponents is the main goal. There are several moves that will cause an instant KO. You were talking about the effect called Doom when you said 3 turns, but that ability also inflicts sleep which will basically kill them before they can move again. You have to use the status effects in combos to get the full effect of the assassin. - Ninja of Wind Ninja of Wind2- 00:06, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Am I the only one here who remembers Last Breath(at least I think that's the name). I wasn't refering to Doom; I actually meant KO. Werefang 04:36, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

The fact that NO ONE has suggested any characters from lower FFs is kinda disappointing, but I am also getting sick of seeing VI thru X characters. The end. Also, an abnormal chick fight with rare characters would probably appeal to a good few.*Cloud Strife 14:04, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

This already happened(Week 50 for reference). Also, there's nothing wrong with Vaan, stupid people just hate him because he's not the main focus(Yes, plot relevance always determines how good a character is). Now Tidus, is a different case, though he's not as bad as I remember either. AnonyMan

Sorry, I didn't know it was done.
Just so everyone knows, Balthier is useless too because he is just around as a mercenary. I'm not doing this because they are bad; I suggested it because they are both observers of the plot and unlike previous heroes, the succeed in not overshadowing the story. AJ Werefang 21:25, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

I get ya'. I think we can all agree that XII's whole Main cast was pretty underwhelming, even the more important ones. They're as memorable as FFV's cast, but at least they did stuff. Anony

Actually, Balthier, Ashe and Basch are pretty important to the story. Ashe is one of the main reasons Dalmasca was won back. Basch protects Ashe. Balthier's there because he knows Ashe is a princess, who has money. That's good enough reason for me why this party exists the way it does and I'm sure somebody else would agree with me. Judge Balthier 13:56, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Vaan is in FFXII for the same reason that John McClane is in Die Hard. There, I said it. AJ Werefang 00:03, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Please tell me you did not just insult McClane! lol! BTW "Just so everbody knows Balthiers' useless too." It felt like you were targeting a certain someone

No I was not insulting McClane; I'm simply stating that Vaan (and Tidus if you think about it) is "in the wrong place at the wrong time." As for Balthier, I was simply pointing out that he functions as a mercenary and is not the "leading man" everyone says he is. Werefang 18:32, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Umm...They can be used on the soldiers? There. Judge Balthier 14:03, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

1) You could use the Mako Cannon/Sister Ray to blow a bunch of MagiTek armor or MagiTek knights to bits. 2) You could use MagiTek armor, or MT Knights, to go kill all the Shinra security around a Mako Reactor and blow it up. 3) Mako energy can be used to power things like factories, producing weapons and stuff, while MagiTek can be used to make weapons and stuff (like MagiTek Armor suits) work. You get the idea yet? In case not, 4) Early experiments with the use of both Mako and Jenova cells resulted in a certain Masamune-wielding, Nibelhiem-burning villain, while early experiments in the use of MagiTek on humans resulted in an insane, laughing villain named Kefka. (Not that this is a Kefka-vs-Sephiroth fight; it isn't supposed to be. I'm not voting on this since it was my idea, but I don't think we ever had a "weird weapon" battle so I've picked out two of the strangest weapons. You can also have Cards or Dictionaries if you don't like these. Jeppo 01:13, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

The Bell's got both weapons beat as far as Bizarre go. AnonyMan

Bells are a bizarre choice of weapon, but really weird thing is that instead of using their superpowered terrain effects that cost no MP or have any other limitation, geomancers choose to attack with these bells. It gets even weirder from there. At least in FF3, the weakest bells you can get are the strongest weapons at that point in the game. They would beat paintbrushes and megaphones hands down. - Ninja of Wind Ninja of Wind2- 01:16, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Also, "Bells" are not really that much of a unique weapon class; though TA2 disagrees with me, a "bell" is a type of percussion-based musical instrument, like drums. Also, the Megaphone, while creative as a weapon, is possible (and I mean other than by smacking people with it.) There are things called "resonant frequencies," and sound, combined with light, is used in many non-lethal weapon systems. Similarly, if the target is ugly enough (ie, Ultros) a painting of it is an effective weapon (though a mirror might be faster, Ultros would have broken one.) Beyond hitting people with a bell, (which could hurt, though it likely wouldn't hurt much if you can hold the bell with your hands,) I can't figure out how a bell is actually a weapon. So for "bizarre," maybe, but "creative" or "imaginative," no. The.Dreadnought just wanted to throw that out there, at 23:00, 12 April 2009 (UTC).
From what I can gather from FFVII, Cait Sith uses its megaphone to tell the Mog underneath to run to the target and smack it on its head, and better megaphones makes the mog hit harder, somehow. While Bells are creative, I've only seen them used as a normal weapon i.e. bonk the enemies on the head with it. I don't know about the Paintbrush, because I have to admit I don't have the game, but whoever this Relm is, she must be mad going into battle armed with nothing more that a small wooden stick with bristles at one end! Jeppo 02:13, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
The point holds. I didn't specify Cait Sith's megaphone. I can use a megaphone as a weapon too. By smacking you in the head with it. So can anyone with really annoying music, but that is a different way to do so. As for Relm, well, the "Sketch" command is what the Paintbrush is really for, she's better off in the Back Row with some big Espers and magic, and she can (and should) have a Rod equipped, because they're better for stats. Also, Relm happens to be a 10-year-old girl, so, seeing as how little kids aren't likely to be lifting the Buster Sword or anything like that... And you don't really need the game. Click this link. Forks can impail people. Have you ever tried impailing someone with a paintbrush? No? Didn't think so. - Ninja of Wind Ninja of Wind2- 18:15, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Not to mention that in MGS3, Snake uses a fork to, among other things, fight off an undead, invincible boss who sends the people he's killed after him, also as undead, invincible annoyances. Forks are good weapons; the ancient world knew that when they came up with tridents (which are super-sized forks on a spear shaft.) So did Snake when he got captured, and they took away his weapons and Survival Knife. He used the fork for eating, too (I think he cleaned it first...) The.DreadnoughT 22:34, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Didn't the question of who should rule Figaro kinda get answered already, when Sabin and Edgar flipped the coin? The.DreadnoughT 20:32, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

It was doubly answered when Edgar rigged the coin-toss so that Sabin couldn't "win", thereby preventing him from taking up that kind of responsibility and making sure FF has its paragon Martial Artist. So yeah, you have a point. Anony
They fliped to see who would be king. There can still be a hidden advisor controling the king and the kingdom through him. Sabin still has a fighting chance to win that place after loosing the position of king. Also, don't try to make too much sence out of these fights or you will come up with something as ridiculous as what I just said.- Ninja of Wind Ninja of Wind2- 00:36, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Pretty Self-explanatory, battle of the Blue Mages.

  2. Nokareon: Well, I'm obviously voting for my own suggestion... I really liked Quina in IX, even if I didn't fight much with him. He added a good amount of humor to the game, and was honestly one of the most creative characters in the entire series, in my opinion. I wanted to see him in a fight, and Kimahri was the only other obvious pick for a named Blue Mage (Strago or Gau from VI or Quistis from VIII would be the other ones who could qualify as Blue Mages, but I'm pretty sure any of them would destroy Quina).
  3. Template:BfDsig

  1. Not really much of a fight. Quina is not exactly well liked by people and Kimahri is basicaly unknown. He is probably the least memorable character in FFX even when their are characters far worse. (That's probably why he's unknown: he's not the best, not the worst, he doesn't contribute much to the plot because he rarely speaks) - Ninja of Wind Ninja of Wind2- 01:31, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

  4. I don't hate Quina so much as find it a pointless character, but still the food jokes got old fast; and it was useless to me in battle. Dealing Damage...in FFIX. Every character can dish out quad-9s very easily(especially the ones people hate most). Eiko's Summons are more versatile; some do damage(and simultaneously revive), some cast buffs, and some just are awesome. She's just a better game play choice once she shows up. Anony

Nothing special? You've gotta be kidding me! With how much people bitch about the same old characters (Cloud, Squall, Sephiroth, Auron, etc.) being submitted, someone (that'd be me) decides, "Hey, white mages, heroines, debatably more influential than the main characters, messiah-like, staff chicks, this seems pretty unique," and you honestly think it ISN'T? I also want to see Genesis in a fight, but there's like 3 submissions with him, I don't have an idea for his equal in another game, and I was honestly pretty proud of this idea....Neo Bahamut 20:27, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

When you put it that way, it is pretty original compared to some of the other suggestions, but white mages just don't seem like they can duke it out as well as other characters. It's also because Yuna is kind of pushed out of the way in the plot in the middle of the game. It also happens to Aerith in the form of her being killed, but that actually adds some depth to her story. - Ninja of Wind Ninja of Wind2- 17:53, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Dark Knight vs Paladin

I know this battle was made before, but I want to make a hue. This is not a dark versus light battle. This is not a black magic versus white magic. This is a battle between two life styles, two ways of protect someone. Dark Knight, the sword, who never hesitates to sacriface himself in a kamikaze battle, destroying himself with the enemies, giving no time for them to damage his allies. Paladin, the shield, who never hesitates to sacriface himself taking all the damage from the enemies and giving no chance for them to damage his allies. "You'll die with me" versus "over my corpse!". "The best defense is a great attack" versus "the best attack is a great defense".
