Week 339: Ghost Week: Aerith vs. Galuf[]
VICTOR Aerith 11-9 |
These two both died at a major part of the story only to continue to help the party in some form, despite the handicap of no longer having a body. Or maybe that's an advantage.
...In fact, I think one of these two was eliminated in Last Man Standing a month ago, and he's still back for more! I guess that proves it, ghosts are the true master race. (Please note: No members of the Ghostbusters are allowed in the DNC during this fight.) |

So on this side, we have a rock. Not sure what kind of rock but it's being thrown at something, so I guess it's good for that.
On the other side, an Edea. Not sure which Edea, I wrote this a week in advance. But either way they have a very stunning fashion sense. I'm not putting more effort into this. Go vote.

Okay, let me try and explain this. ... Okay, deep breaths. Breathe in. Breathe out. Okay. You see... *snrrrrrk* oh God, this is hard. Um.
Right. So, our noble hero, king of Bal, Galuf, has defeated every opponent we've set against him so far in a display of unparalleled brutality. The gore was too much. So in response, we've pitted him against a common rock. Because, you see... you can't get blood from a stone. YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH

Week 335: Throw the White Mage a Bone Week: Rosa vs. a Rock[]
VICTOR A Rock 12½ to 10 |
I was looking through the nominations archive and noticed a pattern with nominations involving Rosa. You see, the wiki's biggest Rosa fanboy would always vote against the fights, because he was so convinced Rosa would lose he could only express his pre-emptive disappointment in the form of rejection votes and text walls.
So I thought we should try to have a fight that Rosa would win. After a long, hard session of inward reflection, I figured the only thing with less character than Rosa is an inanimate rock. So, we're going to pit Rosa against one and finally give her the victory she deserves! Right? ...riiiiight? *sigh* You're all going to vote for the rock, aren't you? |

AnonyMan (talk) 03:36, January 26, 2015 (UTC) So question, if the rock wins in this fight will the rock be fighting in LMS? Could have a corny fight description "will he rock galuf or will galuf leave no stone unturned?" --Ffgamesftw (talk) 02:38, January 30, 2015 (UTC)
my god, what is everyone's problem with Rosa? So there wasn't much character development, most of the other characters didn't get much either. Pzykosiz (talk) 01:37, February 2, 2015 (UTC) |

So this week we let our victor from last week, Catuse, choose who he wanted to see take on the Warrior of Dawn, and he selected the leader of the Circle of Knowing. And there's a lot of similarities between the two. They're both old, seem to have a penchant for gold lining on their armor, and both went out in a pretty awesome blaze of glory. And now they're here, fighting, because, well, why not.

Week 333: Tentacle Appreciation Week: Ultros![]
VICTOR Ultros (And Catuse167, but mostly Ultros) |
Today's DNC is a very special week. Indeed, instead of having a fight (because there has been one nomination in three months and I, while amazing, beautiful, and brilliant, cannot continue spit out interesting fights every two weeks; seriously, go nominate new fights for me to do), we shall have a different kind of DNC this week. I ask but one simple task: please write me either evocative poetry or prose about the handsomeness of Ultros. Indeed, this week you are competing the DNC for a super special fabulous prize (judged by my compatriot in madness Jimcloud). This is a limited time to win both honor and fantastic riches, so you'd better deliver.
So evoke some tentacles with the beauty of your words! Also please nominate some fights while you're at it. |
VICTOR Ultros (And Catuse167, but mostly Ultros)
Evocative Ultros Poetry or Prose Below[]I'm not sure if this counts as poetry (it would be iambic pentameter, since that's the only common poetic form I know that isn't a haiku, if I could be bothered to figure out stressing, so I guess it's just ... decameter?), but here's mine:
C A T U S E 05:24, January 12, 2015 (UTC) So I'm trash at poetry, and all I can come with is haiku >>; This is for everyone who, like me, has failed miserably at the Dragon's Neck in FFXIV too many times...

If anyone's bored, I've compiled a list of all the old nominations. There's possibly something usable in there. It's not sorted in any way though, I may go through it later - https://www.dropbox.com/s/wqnz2ief8n1uwkv/DNC%20Suggestions.txt?dl=0 Pzykosiz (talk) 07:34, January 17, 2015 (UTC) By the way, the prize is probably going to be (assuming we don't come up with a better idea) deciding who's the next LMS challenger, so people who aren't IRC regulars should probably note who they want to nominate somewhere. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 21:31, January 12, 2015 (UTC) |

Sometimes in life, you come across decisions. Very important, life-changing ones. Decisions like "should I update the DNC today, or should I put it off and forget for two days?" But that's not what we're here to talk about today. What we're talking about is when life thrusts decisions on you without your consent. Like when the random number generator 'randomly' generates the same competitor for the second LMS slot twice in a row. But what are you going to do, right? That's life.
...What I am trying to say is that I absolutely have no idea how these two competitors go together. I tried my best, guys. But one of these two will rise to take the coveted defending champion spot away! Will it be the noble King of Bal, or the feral child from the Veldt? Who will be the Last Man Standing?

Okay, it's story time, guys, so sit down. So I'm all ready to make Edward vs. Snow, and I go to check on our new challenger. The thing is, it's possible I may have been dipping in the Secret Admin Hot Springs an hour prior, and as such, she attempted to murder me on sight. So we had to make an emergency change to our roster. So I was scoping out potential replacements, but this was one of the few who seemed excited at the prospect of beating Edgeward in a fight. His exact words at the idea were "Aw yeah!" ... On mulling it over, it might have been "Gau yeah!", but I'm going with the first one.
Anyways. Our two seasoned, veteran competitors from the golden SNES era of Final Fantasy will be duking it out for your enjoyment in this matchup of the second (or perhaps third) billing protagonists. Who will be the victor in this contest of mild mediocrity? Who will be the Last Man Standing?
