Week 319: Late 19th Century Fashion Week: Ramuh vs. Cid Pollendina[]

FFXIV Ramuh
DNC Versus
After Cid
VICTOR
Ramuh
14½ to 4
For those who are unaware, growing a beard is a bit like growing a plant: you need to care for it every day, give it lots of care, water it every two days, put it in the sun, and talk to it often. Unfortunately, I've been following these steps to the letter and I still haven't created a beard large enough to be a sentient creature that could consume a small African nation. However, these two do.

So let the fight begin! Who will be the last beard growing? Whatever the result, I'm sure it will be…Ramuhsing.

For his fourth fight in Last Man Standing, that Bartz guy we found makes a habit of fighting things he's already beaten before. This time he faces Bahamut, lord of dragons, who has equally proven his might in the category of necks. Espying Bartz leveraging his titles to earn votes, Bahamut has ensured that he will be likewise garbed. Between these two strange competitors, who will be the victor? Who will be the Last Man Standing?

Look, I think we can all agree that Bartz is the biggest pimp in the series. But really, when the choices are stage dancer harem, and princesses, the latter just sounds more impressive.
The point I'm getting at is that there should be a sequel where Bartz takes advantage of that and becomes Pimp King of Tycoon. Sounds like a more interesting story than Legend of the Crystals, at least. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 01:28, October 2, 2014 (UTC)

Okay, so today we have a duel between a duality of deadly dragons. You'd think that you might want to compare their strengths, their appearances, or their different powers when making your choice. You'd be wrong.

No, what you should be doing is comparing their necks. Yes, their necks. What do you think this colosseum is for? Do you prefer the long slender neck of Shinryu or the short sturdy neck of Bahamut? Which will be the last neck standing?

However, he didn't realize that he would come across someone with as lavishly styled hair as he! What a calamity! Indeed, one could not judge whose hair, Bartz or Carbuncles, was more flammable from the amount of product placed in it nor could one accurately judge the pounds upon pounds of broken combs that must have ensued from all the morning hairy activities.

Who will be the last man/green thing standing with the most fashionable hair?

This week's update was brought to you by your favorite ScatheMote, who is updating in lieu of Jimcloud, as she, set awash on the open sea, is torn and twisted by the winds of fortune throughout the world to tear through the channels of Scylla and Charybdis, perhaps one day settling with the Cattle of the Sun (which, as we know, must not be eaten; that would be rude). ScatheMote 02:44, September 15, 2014 (UTC)

We need six volunteers to get eaten so that Jimcloud can get past Scylla. I will do the honorable thing, the selfless thing, the heroic thing, and volunteer Scathe. --BlueHighwind 02:49, September 15, 2014 (UTC)

So this week is Peace Week in the DNC (stands for Do No Conflict). Today, we decide whose warm and kind hugs we would appreciate more. Would you rather have the gentle caress of the dread emperor Vayne, whose long flowing hair brushes softly across your face as he embraces you, or the furry hug of Carbuncle, whose cuddle is interrupted only by a sudden flash that will blind you for the remainder of your life?

Who will be the last hugger standing?

Bartz's fight description was intended to be as generic as possible to set up for the punchline that was Sabin's. I'm going to let you in on a little secret: as many times as we update the DNC, do you think we can come up with good commentary without venturing into comedy territory sooner or later? Or, well, all the time? It's hard, it's so hard. Jimcloud 00:33, August 27, 2014 (UTC)

@Technobliterator & Balthierfan : To be perfectly fair to Eiko, you need to remember that's she's (apparently) only 6 years old. And unlike Hope, she both only had one game of screen time, and was raised by Moogles, not actual parents. The fact that she is alive and well is amazing. Chocobos know color coordination. Where Sabin has yellow, yellow, and yellow (belt? What belt?), the Chocobo has a respectable quantity of orange/black in the legs and orange in the beak. It's less blinding. Jimcloud 22:28, August 18, 2014 (UTC)

Votes for Firion[]

  1. For the sake of the fight comment, Firion is the TRUE Weaponmaster, able to wield any and all weapons in the game, and use whatever spells his little heart desires. Although 2 and 5 were neither of my favorite games I will cast my vote here. 2 had a good cast of characters but lackluster story and gameplay, while 5 had good gameplay but lackluster story and characters. It's definitely the best of the classic Final Fantasy games. Perhaps the best of them all, but that is an arguement I will NOT bring to this Peanut Gallery. You hear me?! Oh the horror that would cause... Still, you should give it a try at your earliest convenience, you may really enjoy it. King of Noobs 19:43, August 6, 2014 (UTC)

Meh. I agree it is worth the time to give it a try, though. The hell with Suplex...Sabin can't even headbutt. I demand a 3rd Person FF6 Spin-off beat em up starring him where he rectifies this grave error. --AnonyMan (talk) 22:29, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
