DEFENDING CHAMPION RINGABEL BRAVELY DEFAULT DEFEAT 17½ to 15½
LAST MAN STANDING
CHALLENGER SABIN RENE FIGARO FINAL FANTASY VI VICTORY 17½ to 15½
Ringabel's third fight in Last Man Standing pits him against the fan favorite Monk, Sabin. Will the job master win an Invigorating victory, or will the Monk by trade Rise like a Phoenix and become the new champion? Who will be the Last Man Standing?
Today, two hot, sweat, burly, buff, shirtless men wrestle in the sand pits of the Dragon Neck's Colosseum. One is known for being the quote-on-quote "best there ever was," but the other can suplex a train, although his ability to stay alive in in battle may leave something to be desired. Who will win the brawl of the century?
Tough one, but I don't remember Jecht suplexing a train... Zhor7 (talk) 18:48, July 14, 2014 (UTC)
Jecht was alright but he came across as rather arrogant. Sabin may not have been the smartest character around (jumping off a waterfall). But he was a beast without bragging about it. --Ffgamesftw (talk) 22:25, July 14, 2014 (UTC)
Because there are people actually questioning the greatness of suplexing a train. Who gives a shit if the train can be killed with a phoenix down? Nobody, because you just fucking grabbed it and jumped into low earth orbit. -- SomeColorMage ~ (Talk) 10:56, July 16, 2014 (UTC)
This battle has been deadlocked (or close to) for several days now. And I'm not helping by tying it up.--Kierandell1409 (talk) 23:58, July 16, 2014 (UTC)
Back when being likeable and friendly was still considered cool FëasindëPeth 02:06, July 17, 2014 (UTC)
Hard choice. Jecht is cool, but Sabin is more characterized than him. GoldenChocobo 13:59, July 19, 2014 (UTC)
Was going to vote for Jecht, but the vote number 9 above me just brought my vote to this side. JC Holy Knight (talk) 01:31, July 20, 2014 (UTC)
Just watch, if Final Fantasy VI is ever released in 3D, Sabin won't be able to Suplex the train because of some strange "re-balancing." King of Noobs 23:40, July 14, 2014 (UTC)
It'd be retconned out. Sabin's like a comic book superhero, very inconsistent ability. He suplexs a train but stuggles to support a house roof. Sabin is FF's Superman.AnonyMan (talk) 03:11, July 18, 2014 (UTC)
DEFENDING CHAMPION RINGABEL BRAVELY DEFAULT VICTOR 16 to 15
LAST MAN STANDING
CHALLENGER LIGHTNING FINAL FANTASY XIII DEFEAT 16 to 15
And in our third fight where both contenders' names begin with an R, Ringabel will this time defend his title against Raitoningu-okay, no.
That being said, these two have a little more in common than you may notice at first glance. Both of them have taken on aliases, though one of them not by choice, and both of them are very dedicated to protecting the person who matters most to them. It's just that one person shares a fraternal relationship with them, and the other one... less so.
Anyways! Will the Job Master hold the Ramparts against his first challenger? Or will the Savior claim another soul? Who will be the Last Man Standing?
My opinion on her jumps around a lot but eh she's alrightTechnobliteratorTC 17:16, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
I can see her punching Mr. Smug right in the face when they first meet. King of Noobs 23:36, July 8, 2014 (UTC)

Voting poorly based on the vote above which actually is a paraphrase of what the character on the left said. ;P —Kaimi(999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 21:12, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
Before you internet attack me blue I'll explain my vote on this side. I have never played Bravely Default and when voting between characters I know and ones I don't know or know little about I vote for the other guy if I hate them or vote for them if they are ok or better. Lightning isn't my favorite character but she's OK so better than knowing nothing about. --Ffgamesftw (talk) 23:48, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
Right. So let me explain. All of yesterday, the internet here was out. I couldn't get on anything to even ask Scathe to update for me. So that's why this update was not had yesterday. As to why I didn't do it on the day it was supposed to be done, well, that was just laziness. (and the internet cutting out when I was planning to do it, namely a couple of hours before midnight, but that doesn't really excuse the previous 22 hours) But we have an update now! So there! eSports and CoD terms, so that depends on your opinion of eSports and CoD (disclaimer: I do NOT play CoD). 6k mmr = 6,000 matchmaking rating (elo system used in League, DotA, and probably CoD), 360 noscope = I'm an idiot 12 year old CoD fanboy who think's he's pro, mlg = Major League Gaming (I think this is CoD...?), fite me ill rek u = "Fight me! I'll wreck you!" CATUSE 19:01, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
MLG is also an eSports term. And I don't play CoD either. I don't even know what 360 noscope is, I just know you're apparently cool if you can do it.--TechnobliteratorTC 19:12, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
Keep your filthy "MLG" away from League, like 95% of what they do is CoD.
Also, this video 360 noscope is: A 360 noscope is giving people epilepsy and flashing random pictures of Dyrone. In the League community we have 420 blaze it no scopes, which is something you spam in the Twitch chat to get yourself banned. Is that close enough? CATUSE 19:19, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
Tis true. But they're pretty good to the Dota community.
Ah, got ya. Yup, it's probably close enough. Don't think we have an equivalent in Dota 2.--TechnobliteratorTC 21:10, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

@Kierandell: I don't know exactly why Ringabel keeps winning, but perhaps there's an off chance that maybe he's actually a good character? Jimcloud 02:40, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
I'm not saying he isn't. It's the fact that he's a non-main series character holding his own against much more well known characters. I didn't think that was even possible.--Kierandell1409 (talk) 03:11, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
The last time it happened was over two years ago but we've had almost no side characters since then, other than the occasional terrible VII spin off. Bravely Default and Tactics usually win fights that they're actually in. CATUSE 04:06, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

DEFENDING CHAMPION REDDAS FINAL FANTASY XII DEFEAT 13½ to 12½
LAST MAN STANDING
CHALLENGER RINGABEL BRAVELY DEFAULT VICTORY 13½ to 12½
In this riveting redo of resounding R-themed names, returning champion Reddas rises to receive newcomer Ringabel's attack. Will the rogue Sky Pirate rekindle the roaring fires of victory? Or will the ravishing Asterisk master reach the heights of championship? Who's really ready to be the Last Man Standing?
Anyone else think FFXII playing as all the guests characters would make a cooler lineup than the actual cast? I mean think of it 2 of the "guest" characters were the better main characters Basch and Ashe only missing out on Balthier. Then you have all the sweet guest characters of Vossler, Reddas, and Larsa. You'd get to miss all the bad characters this way excluding Vaan, Penelo, and Fran. Now if only AL-Cid was a guest character... --Ffgamesftw (talk) 01:14, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
Hmm. He lacks sideburns, huge no-no. But he is in the game with the more engaging story. But...no 'burns. He is kinda cool, but his absence of sideburns. Y-yeah, I'll go with Sans Sideburns here. Sorry, Red.--AnonyMan (talk) 21:51, June 22, 2014 (UTC)

Let's see here.. Ringabel is easily the winner here, as he is the comedic relief with Edea and Sage Yulyanna. Although, I must say.. "Rgh! It's hard and massive! How am I supposed to take it out?!" wins with the best line in the game. User:Sora199597 15:23, June 28, 2014 (UTC)
Gotta love Ringabel ^^ --Sencilia (talk) 02:45, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
In one corner, we have who might be the smuggest looking character ever. In the other corner, we have everyone's favorite cowboy hat wearing superstar named for a city in California. But these two have several similarities. Indeed, Irvine scours the earth looking for love and fails. However, he does eventually find in the party member he had been traveling with this entire time, Selphie. Does this story ring a bell for you when it comes to Ringabel's plot?
Ringabel is amazing. Love's Vagrant, need I say more? Jimcloud 19:54, June 16, 2014 (UTC)

@Anon Irvine Vote- So they could try again to do better. And they did, Ziddy's the Gold Standard for rakish likeable rogues.--AnonyMan (talk) 03:10, June 18, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah I honestly can't even really compare Irvine with Zidane as I find their characters quite different. I'd say they are more the "Ladies man that really isn't" archetype than anything else. Which in that contest Zidane would come in 2nd behind Edgar imo. --Ffgamesftw (talk) 07:05, June 18, 2014 (UTC)
They are not comparable at all. Irvine was trash, "hurr durr im gonna act like i can shoot but actually im a pussy really lol". At least Squall's douchebaggery had a tiny bit of an explanation, Irvine was just "let's throw this in so we have even MORE emos! YAAAAAAAAAAAY". Zidane is just a total boss who is a cool-headed ladies man done right. Irvine is a trash pussy who had the potential to be this game's only good character and failed.--TechnobliteratorTC 15:48, June 18, 2014 (UTC)
I think you have misunderstood VIII, because that's totally not what happened. JBed (talk) 16:14, June 18, 2014 (UTC)
Perhaps. But I do not consider a game where I have to look deeply into it to understand why something is supposed to be enjoyed a good game. Not that I don't like character development and only like things straight forward, because I do like how, for instance, Yuna felt like she grew as a character and began to stand up for herself. But Irvine sucked from the outset and didn't redeem himself by the time I'd already stopped playing.--TechnobliteratorTC 16:19, June 18, 2014 (UTC)
Wow. Did Irvine personally steal your lover and poop in your cereal. Gotta love these outrageous rants some people have for characters who are pretty decent people but never for the true a-hole ones. Also, did you stop playing right after the assassination attempt?--AnonyMan (talk) 22:41, June 18, 2014
...I would reply, but your comment is full of ad hominems and nothing to support your case (as well as an assumption that I only like a-hole characters), so there is not a lot I can really reply of value. I am 99% sure the Peanut Gallery is not the place go discuss this either. CHALLENGER ROSA JOANNA FARRELL FINAL FANTASY IV DEFEAT 12 to 10½
LAST MAN STANDING
CHALLENGER REDDAS FINAL FANTASY XII VICTORY 12 to 10½
We here at the Dragon's Neck Colosseum Committee would like to assure you once again that these fights are entirely randomly generated and are in no way influenced by our fair members. That being said, this alliterative fight pits the White Mage and eventual Queen of Baron, Rosa, against the Judge-turned-Sky Pirate, Reddas. Who will triumph in the end, the Sky Pirate who wears pink pants, or the White Mage who wears no pants? Who will be the Last Man Standing?
As a loyal supporter of not wearing pants Pzykosiz (talk) 02:42, June 9, 2014 (UTC)
No rant this week :) Just wanted to even the playing field and whilst Rosa seems like a flat character now, at the time when FFIV was released, I guess her having a personality was like a revolution. (That doesn't make sense...ah well) TMG- Why? (talk) 06:07, June 9, 2014 (UTC)

How can I not vote for Reddas? He shall summon victory with the power of his sideburns.Squallisnotemo (talk) 09:03, June 9, 2014 (UTC)
I have great memories of him when I played the game, both in gameplay and story/character development. As you all know, the past can bind a man as surely as irons (also, he is voiced by the same guy that voiced Ramza, this most be a good sign). JC Holy Knight (talk) 03:18, June 15, 2014 (UTC)
Stockings are not pants! Do not even start with me on this. As for the fight, well, I don't really know what to say about this one. It's kind of bizarre, huh? Here's what Scathe and I had to say about it.
[21:43:06] <Scathe> Jimcloud: What hast thou wrought?

Ramza is the kind of character that can always surprise you ;). JC Holy Knight (talk) 00:45, June 16, 2014 (UTC)
Now, you may be wondering, "Scathe, why did you decide to put the most popular character from the Final Fantasy series against some random Easter egg (get it?) from one of the lesser known Final Fantasy games?"
First of all, that picture is amazing of Eggman and I really wanted him in an DNC fight. Secondly, I needed a non-character fight since LMS is on an off week.
Thirdly, and most importantly, we can finally answer the age old question: which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Anonther reason why FFV is the best Final Fantasy title. Also, the hell with Lightning Returns, gimme an action RPG staring That Scarf wearing badass. It wouldn't be hard to make it more endearing a character.--AnonyMan (talk) 11:48, June 3, 2014 (UTC)

Minor rant warning- Chocobos are a more practical species than Eggmen- being able to be used for transport, or entertainment, and the feathers can be used for clothes etc. Etc. What can an Eggmen do? Sit on a wall? Humpty Dumpty would disagree with that. Anyways, not only that Chocobos could easily use Chocobo kick to smash the Eggmen's shells, automatically winning any fight, making the hypothetical Chocobo vs Eggmen fight end with a decisive victory for the Chocobo. Finally....Chocobos would be definatly nicer to eat (even though I would never do so, as they are too awesome for that!) than the Eggmen. Overall- Chocobo > Eggmen. Rant over. TMG- Why? Alright, so I was looking at the list of old DNC fights, thinking "what can I use, what can I use... Zidane v. Tidus would be laughable, Vivi v. Aerith would be horrible, Cloud of Darkness v. Exdeath?" And then it hit me. Agrias v. Beatrix. Both of them are surprisingly popular minor characters from the series' popular dark horse entries, and the original fight ended in a very inconclusive tie. So let's do it again! Don't muck it up this time, people!
People only like Bee because she's an unwinnable boss fight a few times. Okay, her themes are very good and she's a decent character herself....aside from getting off like scot free for the crap she committed. Agrias is cooler just by personality shame Cid had to be playable in FFT and outclass all the knights.--AnonyMan (talk) 20:05, May 18, 2014 (UTC)
I need to vote in here, as FFT is such an underrated game. I think Beatrix is a wonderful character, but Agrias shows us what a Paladin really is (in the little time she is relevant to the plot). Her sense of knight loyalty is just amazing. JC Holy Knight (talk) 01:42, May 19, 2014 (UTC)

Haven't played Tactics, but I want to, and a character who acts like a bitch before FINALLY realizing they were wrong is just...well, how could anyone like Beatrix after that? From the cutscenes I've seen, Agrias is loyal from the beginning, and I like her. Also, in Theatrhythm, Agrias wields Beatrix's Save the Queen, so the answer to the superior Holy Knight is obvious. So, for this, the celebration of the DNC's three hundredth week, I picked an old fight and Scathe picked an old fight, and now we have those happening again. And then there were two more fights that were not "picked" so much as sprung from the ether, freshly-made and begging to be used. They're down there. Jimcloud 17:46, May 18, 2014 (UTC)

Look, the chaos is right here, see? *shows chaos* Can we see an update now, pretty please? King of Noobs 23:44, June 2, 2014 (UTC)
So I was really tempted to not do a serious fight for week 300, i.e. I was totally going to choose Garnet's Hair v. Terra's Hair or just repick Pig v. Toad again. But then I remembered this fight and how supercool it was. It was also the last normal fight before Last Man Standing starting, so that's also pretty neato. But yeah, who knew I could avoid the temptation to put up a silly fight?
Anyway, which group of three that really should have been the made stars of each respective game do you vote for?
I like both groups as a group. But I like Laguna Crew's "random nobodies who get swept into crazy adventures" schtick better. Also, they're much funnier, and prettier collectively. Also, ANCHOR, yo! I forgot, this team isn't dead.--AnonyMan (talk) 20:09, May 18, 2014 (UTC)
Vapor Rub (talk) Clueless war buddies > people who know what they're doing = More fun. Also, Man with Machine Gun, African Ninja with Katals, Tallest playable character with Harpoon: Need I say more? Vapor Rub (talk) 07:59, May 19, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, let's say you need three male strippers by tomorrow. Will you take this sublime assembly of masculinity on the left, or that strange quirky collection of various kinds of failure over there? I know whose thong I'm going to shove twenties into. --BlueHighwindツ 18:12, May 18, 2014 (UTC)
I in no way intended for the voting column colors in our two fights to end up so similar... but I like it. Jimcloud 17:46, May 18, 2014 (UTC)
BlueHighwind, don't you mean the "assemble of masculinity on the right...?" Because you said left...complimenting and criticising the VIII team- PS. Your vote was Brilliant! :D I laughed for at least 2 minutes straight TMG- Why? (talk) 18:30, May 20, 2014 (UTC)
... And it doesn't hurt that Laguna (in Japanese Dissidia, at least) shares the same seiyuu with the super-sexy Oji-san of Tiger and Bunny! (Oh, and Balthier - which makes it really hard to vote for Celes, now that I know who did his voice in JP.) Just don't mind me. MissH <3 00:52, May 25, 2014 (UTC)
VICTOR Lightning 12 to 20½ BUT KRILE WINS A MORAL VICTORY
So this fight may seem somewhat arbitrary. And to an extent, it is arbitrary. But hear me out.
In one corner, we have the character that Square Enix thinks is the best. In the other corner, we have the character that we in the DNC committee know is the best. One character is named after a natural effect, the other is named after a kind of small shrimp. The comparisons are endless.
Okay, so maybe I'm crazy. But isn't that was supposed to have happened anyway?
VICTOR Lightning 12 to 20½ BUT KRILE WINS A MORAL VICTORY
Which one wasn't in FFXIII again? Oh this one. That makes my decision easy. --BlueHighwindツ 18:12, May 18, 2014 (UTC)
Krile's far more badass than Light ever was and she didn't have to be a tryhard typical stoic "too kool fo' school" sort either. Being blood-related to THE most BA FF character helps. She certainly has more character and personality than her not to mention style ad well.--AnonyMan (talk) 20:17, May 18, 2014 (UTC)
I vote for the badass granddaughter of the most badass grandpa in gaming history. King of Noobs 23:08, May 18, 2014 (UTC)
Never thought Krile was a very good character (Galuf, please stay with us!), while Light's personality always called my attention (even though I didn't play the game yet). Also, her theme... Oh, the theme. JC Holy Knight (talk) 01:48, May 19, 2014 (UTC)
CHAMPION CELES CHERE FINAL FANTASY VI DEFEAT - 18 TO 15½
LAST MAN STANDING
CHAMPION BALTHIER FINAL FANTASY XII VICTORY - 18 TO 15½
Oh, did you think you had seen the last of Celes? Oh, no no no no. With such an important date looming ahead, it occurred to us here at the Dragon's Neck Colosseum Committee that we had exactly two new champions who did not participate in the 50-fight celebration of LMS. What better time to pit them against one another than now?
... Okay, I had to think this one through. This was going to be a no-brainer at first (who can resist the general who's "not an opera floozy"?), but when I found out that FF12's leading man is also Tiger and Bunny's (REAL) leading man, I had to (COUGH) at least try to (COUGH) resist the temptation to vote for Balthier. (Damn you, sexy old man Kotetsu! Just... damn! >///////<) Well, in the end, I got over it, and here I am. MissH <3 01:00, May 25, 2014 (UTC)
Honestly surprised that Balthier is winning here. Don't get me wrong I love both these characters and found this difficult but I recall in MMIII Celes Making it to the finals with Balthier losing before that. Just figured she'd win --Ffgamesftw (talk) 03:18, May 26, 2014 (UTC)
OMD,Celes and Balthier are so similar! Both of them were Generals (or Judge in Balthier's case) for their respective empires, before becoming turncoats and joining the resistance group in their respective Games. Why didn't anybody recommend this fight sooner? TMG- Why? (talk) 17:41, May 19, 2014 (UTC)
When it comes down to a fight like this, I'm afraid the jury's still out on it. MechaKaiser, who else? (talk) 01:28, May 23, 2014 (UTC)
Oh, the things I do for the love for a certain oji-san... So sorry for that long rant!... *runs away and hides in a corner* MissH <3 01:02, May 25, 2014 (UTC)
