Week 200 Special[]
TacticAngel's Choice: Red v. Blue[]
VICTOR Blue Mage 19 to 13 |
Our friendly neighborhood bureaucrat TA sadly did not have the time to make his own fight for this week, and so I will leave this space blank for him to fill, should he so choose. What drove him to pick this fight? I don't know, but I do like it, so let's have a good round of voting, shall we? | VICTOR Blue Mage 19 to 13

Peanut Gallery[]Okay, explaining how this went. Basically, each of us on the committee chose one fight in the archives that we liked to get a redo here for our 200th fight(s). Ideally, these were all supposed to be ready for me to put on the page today, with a little speechy thing about why we picked our fights, |

ScatheMote's Choice: Reno v. Rude[]
VICTOR Reno 13½ to 12 |
This fight was the very first edit I ever made to the site (well, technically I made a userpage stating that I was too lazy to make a userpage). I followed the DNC for awhile beforehand, but this fight stood out enough for me to vote in. I was always a big fan of FFVII, and the Turks were always entertaining characters for me. And after joining just for the sake of voting in this fight and languishing around the forums for awhile, I noticed that I wanted to help out with the content of the wiki. This fight was the stepping stone into my joining of this wiki. | VICTOR Reno 13½ to 12

Peanut Gallery[]I thank you, ScatheMote, for having such a great fight. I actually have a Reno wallpaper now, as Reno is FTW. But, I stopped and thought. What is so great about him? That he fails over and over in the movie? Then eventually "succeeds" by blowing up a bomb? Meh. Rude, however, is amusing through all his appearances. "....." and the fact that he has a crush on Tifa. I mean, why? Yeah, I'm gunna shut up now - Tidus357 01:16, June 11, 2012 (UTC) To Tidus - "That jabronie Reno needs to learn his role". Jimcloud's Choice: Moogle v. Chocobo[]
VICTOR Chocobo 13½ to 17½ |
For my own fight, I took a look at the list, and this fight immediately stood out to me. Well, okay, no, Cactuar v. Tonberry immediately stood out to me, but within that same periphery was Moogle v. Chocobo, and when I noticed it, I immediately seized the idea. Moogle versus Chocobo was the first fight of my own (now defunct) arena, and so there's a good deal of nostalgia in it for me. Not to mention everyone likes the two great mascots of FF to one degree or another, so why shouldn't they duke it out? | VICTOR Chocobo 13½ to 17½

In addition to four fights chosen by your very own DNC committee, we're also running this week's LMS fight as well! That's FIVE TIMES the voting of a normal week! It's like an entire month bundled up into one single week of voting! What can you do with a month of voting? You can make a lot of votes!... I think I've lost my train of thought here. Poor Zell. I think it's funny how crap a character he is, probably quite unintentionally, but how could they not see how bad he is? Like during the Dollet mission Seifer picks on Zell and this is meant to establish to the player that Seifer is a dick, but...like on whose side did they think the player would be? On Zell's?? Haahaha.Keltainentoukokuu 10:56, June 11, 2012 (UTC) @Noobking: You're doing it wrong, then. Lionheart is one of the best ways to deal damage in the entire game, just slap an Aura spell on Squall and press triangle until his limit can be selected, then select it and watch the fireworks (triggering with R1 as necessary). Both of today's competitors served corrupt, power-hungry organizations and were eventually betrayed by them. Today, though, their similarities mean little as they face each other on the field of battle. Will the general of the Gestahlian Empire secure another win? Peanut Gallery[]Okay, we have a fight between Celes and Zack this week. Previously in the Dragon's Neck Colosseum we've had fights between Kefka and Sephiroth (Kefka won that one, if I recall correctly). And then later the musical themes did the fighting for the bad guys they represent: "Dancing Mad" vs. "One-Winged Angel" (fans liked "One-Winged Angel" better that time). There's been (listed in no particular order) Sabin vs. Tifa, Setzer vs. Cait Sith, Setzer vs. Tifa, and Magicite vs. Materia. In other words, a lot of VI vs. VII fights. Will the next one be Terra vs. Cloud? Setzer vs. Cid Highwind? Or is someone in the committee going to try and ban future VI vs. VII fights? Just curious. SelkieMaiden267 15:09, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

Dogurasu 23:42, May 21, 2012 (UTC) @Dogurasu So you think Zack will kick ass in the Last Man Standing fights to come? Yeah, I'm pretty sure he will, too. Even though I hate to see anyone from VII beat Celes so soon after she triumphed over Krile and then Delita... SelkieMaiden267 04:42, May 22, 2012 (UTC) Hoh... There's absolutely no way for me to decide which one to vote. @JimCloud and Noobking: Balthier's past is actually very interesting. Square-Enix would do the right thing to make a prequel game for him. ZaFlareStar 23:00 22th May 2012 (GMT+3) |

Peanut Gallery[]This is a close call. I mean, they're both good though not great characters and are both excellent in battle at higher levels. Oh, and Spoilers: their grandparents both die . Celes has a lightsaber, but I'd like to see a fifth Krile fight ... we've yet to have a Krile landslide. But Krile gets the vote since Celes is stuck in one job, Krile has many many many. Including samurai. (And ninja and cannoneer, just incase there are any ninja/pirate fanboyish typy people out there pirates!Cat: meow ∙ hunt 19:50, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
@Cat: Spoilers: Celes's grandfather don't have to die , besides like the person above me said with the Relic system she can have more jobs, not to mention that she can learn all kinds of magic at once while Krile has to either have the job or one command for ONE kind of magic, and she has to buy magic--Xabryn 21:52, May 3, 2012 (UTC) |

As for voting against Krile because she's not a perky girl, all I'll say is: at least she didn't jump up and down while planning to blow up a train in a civilian-infested area, like one of them. :P Cat 18:06, April 15, 2012 (UTC) I'm starting to get the sneaky suspicion that people would rather have the current champion of Last Man Standing to keep going than actually have a change-up before the required fifth win... Peanut Gallery[]Huge apologies about the DNC going down today and the fact that a temporary page had to be made. I accidentally deleted the page while clearing out the articles for deletion. To make a long story short, the page won't undelete because the history was too big. I've contacted Wikia, and the fight's being hosted here for the time being. Sorry about that guys. ScatheMote 21:39, April 8, 2012 (UTC)
Every single vote that compares how "villainous" these two are is completely missing the point of Cid's character -- Sorceror Nobody 09:57, April 11, 2012 (UTC) I can't fairly vote on this, having not played XIII yet. But for what it's worth, Seymour, as goofy as he looks (and god, he looks goofy), was a pretty excellent character. Very twisted, and even if he was obviously evil the whole time, every moment with him felt like an "Oh shit" moment. I must agree. Who else can manage that level of nonchalance when casually admitting that you murdered your father?203.109.170.222 10:08, April 14, 2012 (UTC) |
