Unreleased and unused tracks[]

Despite the release of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack Plus, marking the official release of most previously unreleased tracks, there is still a selection of unreleased and unused tracks:

  • In "The Destruction of Mako Reactor 1", Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade remarkably features a variation of "Midgar, City of Mako" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) with altered lyrics and some smaller differences.
  • In "The Destruction of Mako Reactor 1", a brief variation of "Mako Reactor 1" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) plays in the Sweeper Armory of Mako Reactor 1.[1]
  • In "Home Sweet Slum", the intro of "Tifa's Theme - Seventh Heaven" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) is quite a bit longer than on the soundtrack if one lingers for a while before approaching Tifa.
  • In "Mad Dash", a brief cutscene track plays just before the "Whispers' Theme" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack).[2]
  • In "Mad Dash", a cutscene track plays after defeating the Enigmatic Spectre, when Jessie is injured.[3]
  • In "Dogged Pursuit", a brief cutscene track plays just before "Hurry!" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack).[4]
  • In "Dogged Pursuit", a cutscene track plays during the second scene in Heidegger's surveillance room. A shorter version plays during the next cutscene as well.[5]
  • In "Light the Way", a variation of "Undercity Suns" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) plays when the party heads for Section H and overcomes the powerful ventilation fans.[6]
  • In "Budding Bodyguard", a variation of "Under the Rotting Pizza" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) plays when Cloud and Aerith arrive at the Sector 5 Undercity station.[7]
  • In "The Town That Never Sleeps", a brief cutscene track plays when Cloud has a premonition about Aerith (right at the start of the chapter).[8]
  • In "The Town That Never Sleeps", a woodwind variation of "Don of the Slums" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) plays in the entrance hall of Corneo's Mansion.[9]
  • In "The Town That Never Sleeps", a track plays while viewing the Corneo Colosseum battle selection menu.[10]
  • In "Rough Waters", an ambient field theme plays in the dark hallway in the sewers.[11]
  • In "Haunted", a low-key variation of "Haunted" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) plays when fighting in the train graveyard's Switchyards.[12]
  • In "Haunted", a cutscene track plays when Aerith stops Cloud from attacking the "nice ghost" and a train car is almost dropped on the party.[13]
  • In "Haunted", a brief cutscene track plays upon defeating the Ghoul.[14]
  • In "Haunted", a cutscene track plays when Aerith is spirited away by Ghosts, just before the battle with Eligor.[15]
  • In "Fight for Survival", a brief cutscene track plays when Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith are surrounded by Whispers.[16]
  • In "Fight for Survival", a brief cutscene track plays when Aerith helps Betty reunite with her father.[17]
  • In "In Search of Hope", a variation of "Leslie's Theme - One Day..." plays in the cutscene following the Abzu boss battle, when Tifa tells Leslie that the flower on his pendant symbolizes reunion.[18]
  • In "In Search of Hope", another low-key variation of the above plays after the cutscene when the party returns to the surface and Leslie takes off. However, the music tends to fade out almost immediately, so it's very hard to catch.
  • In "The Day Midgar Stood Still", a variation of "The Day Midgar Stood Still" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) with a slight pick-up in percussion plays when the party climbs to greater heights (after exiting the crumbling building). The battle theme is unchanged, however.[19]
  • In "The Belly of the Beast", a variation of "The Shinra Building" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) plays when the party jumps onto a Shinra truck, attempting to infiltrate the Shinra Building through the parking garage.[20]
  • In "The Belly of the Beast", a more low-key variation of "Hand over Hand" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) plays while controlling Tifa before the monkey bars section.[21]
  • In "The Belly of the Beast", an intro for "Mayor Domino" plays.[22]
  • In "The Belly of the Beast", a minor variation of "The Pursuit - Man in the Lab Coat" plays when the party observes President Shinra and Heidegger in front of the elevator on their way to the board meeting.
  • In "The Belly of the Beast", a longer version of "Hojo's Laboratory" plays after defeating Specimen H0512.
  • In "The Belly of the Beast", a short variation of "Hojo's Laboratory" plays after rescuing Aerith, as she runs after Red XIII.
  • In "The Belly of the Beast", a variation of "Jenova Calls" sometimes plays instead of the normal track.
  • In "Deliverance from Chaos", a brief variation of "Sign" (from the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Original Soundtrack) plays when the party takes the elevator up to the Drum and Cloud sees a black feather.[23]
  • In "Deliverance from Chaos", a variation of "The Drum" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) plays while exploring the wards.[24]
  • In "Deliverance from Chaos", a variation of "Final Experiment" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) plays in the short cutscenes where Red XIII is stunned by the Brain Pod.[25]
  • In "Deliverance from Chaos", a variation of "Trail of Blood" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) plays when the party discovers Jenovas body missing, before exiting the Drum.[26]
  • In "Deliverance from Chaos", a short variation of "Tifa's Theme" plays when Tifa saves Cloud from falling after his battle against Rufus.[27]
  • In the game files, an unreleased track exists that was originally intended to be played at some point during "Mad Dash", presumably at the S7-6 Annex.[28]
  • In the game files, an unreleased track exists that was originally intended to be played at some point during "The Belly of the Beast", presumably somewhere in the Shinra Building.[29]
