Unreleased and unused tracks[]

Despite the release of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack Plus, marking the official release of most previously unreleased tracks, there is still a selection of unreleased and unused tracks:

  • In "The Destruction of Mako Reactor 1", a brief field theme variation of "Mako Reactor 1" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) is heard in the Sweeper Armory of Mako Reactor 1.[1]
  • In "Mad Dash", a brief cutscene track plays when Sephiroth's voice tells Cloud to "dream the sweetest dreams".[2]
  • In "Mad Dash", a cutscene track plays when Jessie is injured by the Whispers.[3]
  • "In "Dogged Pursuit", a brief cutscene track plays when Cloud, Tifa, and Barret's unauthorized IDs are detected, prompting mechs to attack them.[4]
  • "In "Dogged Pursuit", a cutscene track plays when Heidegger surveils Cloud's party and refers to them as "pawns in a greater game".[5]
  • In "Light the Way", a field theme variation of "Undercity Suns" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) is heard when Cloud's party head for Section H and overcome the powerful ventilation fans.[6]
  • In "Budding Bodyguard", a field theme variation of "Under the Rotting Pizza" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) is heard following Rude's arrival at the Undercity Station, which forces Cloud and Aerith to take the Backstreets to the Center District of the Sector 5 slums.[7]
  • In "The Town That Never Sleeps", a brief cutscene track plays when Cloud has a premonition about Aerith.[8]
  • In "The Town That Never Sleeps", a variation of "Don of the Slums" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) plays in the entrance hall of Corneo's Mansion where Cloud and Aerith meet Leslie.[9]

  • In the game files, an unreleased track exists that was originally intended to be played at some point during "Mad Dash", presumably at the S7-6 Annex.[29]
