The Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack is an eight-disc compilation of the music contained in Final Fantasy VII Remake. There are 157 tracks distributed on seven CDs and a single record with music composed and arranged by Nobuo Uematsu, Mitsuto Suzuki, Masashi Hamauzu, Tadayoshi Makino, Shotaro Shima, Yoshitaka Suzuki, Yasunori Nishiki, Yoshinori Nakamura & Naoyuki Honzawa with others appearing on some specific tracks. The Special Edit Version includes a bonus disc containing music from the in-game jukebox.

Though Final Fantasy VII Remake takes place solely in Midgar, the developers did not want to limit its soundtrack to themes originally only heard within the city.[1]

Unreleased and unused tracks[edit | edit source]

Despite the release of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack Plus, marking the official release of most tracks previously unreleased on Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack, there still remains a selection of unreleased and unused tracks:

  • In "The Destruction of Mako Reactor 1", a brief field theme variation of "Mako Reactor 1" (from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Original Soundtrack) is heard in the Sweeper Armory of Mako Reactor 1.[2]
  • In "Mad Dash", a brief cutscene track plays when Sephiroth's voice tells Cloud to "dream the sweetest dreams".[3]
  • In "Mad Dash", a cutscene track plays when Jessie is injured by the Whispers.[4]
  • "In "Dogged Pursuit", a brief cutscene track plays when Cloud, Tifa, and Barret's unauthorized IDs are detected, prompting mechs to attack them.[5]
