Final Fantasy VII Advent Children EC Edition is an event in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis and a core component of the game's 2nd Anniversary campaign. This event ran from September 7 to October 23, 2025. It is an abridged version of the movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
Story[]
Two years post-Meteorfall, the planet is slowly recovering from the battles against Jenova and Sephiroth. But a new threat is also emerging from the scars left behind. When the remains of Shinra Inc. find many of their number MIA, it falls to lone wolf Cloud Strife to look into the matter. He and his former colleagues will soon discover that not all is as it seems, revealing a sinister plot that could push the world to the brink of ruin yet again.
Escalation Challenge[]
Tying in with this short film, an Escalation Challenge with 25 levels and a Co-op series was issued against Bahamut SIN.
Event rewards[]
Players battled Bahamut SIN and Sephiroth for One-winged Angel Feathers, White Flowers from the Church, and Yellow Flowers from the Church to exchange for a plethora of rewards, including Barret's Quad Gatling Gun, Cid's Captain's Spear, Water (Circle) series materia recipes, Ruin (Circle) materia, Role Memories, and many more valuable pickups from Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. As part of the larger 2nd Anniversary celebration, a set of five bingo boards was made available featuring upgrade materials, an exclusive event wallpaper, and a new memoria crystal commemorating the latest milestone. Further event missions were made available for more exclusive wallpaper and materials.
This event also introduced the as-yet-unassigned unit "Sephiroth (Original)", obtained in an extra mission following the completion of the event story track. A complementary Battle Quest series was also added to allow players to build the new unit to their liking.
Featured draws[]
This event featured a multi-volume Stamp Card draw, with Volume 1 featuring both Cloud's AC Mode set and OG Sephiroth's Corruptor of the Planet set, plus the initial release of OG Sephiroth's katana. Select draws for September 2025 also featured Cloud's premium Ultimate Weapon Ragnarok.
Volume 2 featured the weapons and gear worn by Tifa and Yuffie in the original film called AC Style set and AC Outfit set, plus Sephiroth's Remnant Suit set (based on Kadaj) and Sephiroth (Original)'s premium Heaven's Cloud.
All draws during the event period also awarded convertible 2nd Anniversary mako gems good toward any featured Ultimate Weapon.

This event required a six-hour maintenance period, in large part due to its scope and the transition from the prior Dragon Quest Tact collaboration series. All previous events were closed at 1:00 PM PDT on September 6, 2025, barring several current in-game draws. A further routine maintenance was scheduled for September 8, 2025, and occurred during midday hours.
With the release of this event and the new character, the in-game character level cap was raised to Lv. 100. Floors 41-50 of the regular Battle Towers were added to allow players to build their character streams accordingly.
In response to player feedback, the developers clarified that the Sephiroth (Original) Ultimate Weapon Heaven's Cloud was not meant to be available at the event's launch, and would be issued with the release of a future volume of the event around September 17. Cloud's Ragnarök sword was the first weapon issued during the campaign.
This event also marked the debut of an abbreviated layout, wherein regular quests were reduced to three per event.
This event became a full-fledged main story chapter in late October 2025, after the anniversary campaign was completed. All progress recorded in Story Mode has been retained, thus it is not possible for existing players to claim First Clear rewards on subsequent play.
