In 2022, Final Fantasy VII celebrates its 25th anniversary, with various collaborations and merchandise made available as part of the celebration.
The celebration was unveiled in January with the reveal of a black and white rendition of the anniversary logo[1] and a message from Yoshinori Kitase and Tetsuya Nomura.[2]
Collaborations[]
Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier featured a collaboration as part of the 25th anniversary celebration, which featured classic music, enemies, and skins.[3]
Celebration broadcast[]
In June, a public presentation titled Final Fantasy VII 25th anniversary celebration broadcast aired and revealed more information on merchandising as well as various game announcements:
- Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade coming to Steam.
- Details on Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier North America tournament were teased.
- A closed beta of Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis was announced for later in the year.
- Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion announced for release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Steam later that year.
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was announced for release for PlayStation 5 in winter 2023.
