List of statuses[edit | edit source]
KO[edit | edit source]
KO is a permanent status, it can only be removed by using Raise, Arise, Phoenix Down, Phoenix, and Asura with her multi-target Raise. This status has the highest priority when set. It means HP is equal to 0; the character will be unable to take any action because the ATB bar will not increase. When inflicted on enemies, they will die and disappear when this status is afflicted on them.
This can be inflicted by the status attacks of Deathbringer, the Death spell, the Trap Door's Ninth Dimension, when Doom's countdown timer reaches 0, or simply reducing the target's HP to 0. Strong enemies and bosses are immune to KO. The KO status has the following properties. Physical and magical attacks on a target that has KO are automatically re-targeted. Having this status counts as dead for determining a game over. This status will effectively remove all other statuses, unlike in the 2D versions, except Toad, Mini, and Pig.
Stone[edit | edit source]
Stone indicates a fully-petrified character. The character cannot act or be targeted by attacks. This status will remove all other statuses except Toad, Mini, Pig, Focus, Bluff, Bravery, Faith, and Bubble. Like KO, Stone persists indefinitely, will lead to a "game over", and negates Experience Points. Enemies under this status will vanish.
Toad[edit | edit source]
Once a character turns to Toad, both the character's Strength and Stamina are reduced to 1. This makes them extremely weak in battle, being dealt huge amounts of damage by enemy attacks while dealing only 1 point of damage per attack. In addition, a character afflicted with Toad will be unable to cast any spell or ninjutsu, with the exception of the black magic Toad. The status also prevents the usage of several commands such as Jump and Focus
Toad can be cured by casting Toad or Esuna, or using a Maiden's Kiss or Remedy on the afflicted character. Toad does not wear off after a battle, and if the party leader is afflicted with it, his/her sprite will be of a toad. Characters afflicted with Toad are immune to Mini and Pig.
Mini[edit | edit source]
A character under the Mini status will appear as miniature version of him/herself. Also, his/her Strength and Stamina reduced to 1, similar to Toad's effect. However, unlike being under Toad, being under Mini does not prevent casting of any spells or ninjutsu.
Mini persists after battle and makes the victim immune to Pig and Toad. It can be cured by casting Mini or Esuna, or by using a Gnomish Bread or Remedy on the afflicted character.
Pig[edit | edit source]
Pig, like Toad, prevents a character from casting any spell, save for Pig at any time and Esuna outside of battle, and also prevents the use of summons, Ninjutsu, and abilities like Analyze and Jump.
Pig can be cured with Diet Rations and Remedies, as well as the spells Esuna and Pig. Pig does not wear off after the battle, and If the party leader is afflicted, their over world sprite will be changed to that of a pig. Characters afflicted with Pig are immune to Mini and Toad.
The status is not healed after battle and can only be cured by using Echo Herbs, a Remedy, or by having another character cast Esuna.
Blind[edit | edit source]
Characters with the Blind status have their physical accuracy reduced.
Blind persists after battle. It can be cured with an Eye Drops, Remedy, or by casting Esuna.
Characters with Poison consistently lose 1% of their HP over time.
Poison persists after battle. It can be cured with an Antidote or Remedy, or by using Poisona or Esuna.
Curse[edit | edit source]
Curse lowers all of the afflicted character's stats by 20%.
It can be cured by using a Cross or casting Esuna.
Float[edit | edit source]
Float makes the afflicted character immune to earth attacks in battle and damage floors outside of battle. Leaving the current area or casting Float will remove the status. Black Hole can also remove the status.
Characters afflicted with Paralyze cannot act for a short period of time.
Sleep[edit | edit source]
Characters with the Sleep status cannot act for a short period of time. They will wake up if struck by a physical attack.
This status can also be removed with a Unicorn Horn, Alarm Clock, or Remedy, or by casting Esuna or Basuna.
Confuse causes the afflicted to uncontrollably attack random allied targets on their turn for a short period of time. The status also wears off when struck by a physical attack.
It can be cured with a Unicorn Horn or Remedy, or by casting Esuna or Basuna.
Characters with Berserk attack uncontrollably on their turn, but their physical attacks are 50% stronger.
Berserk can be cured with a Unicorn Horn or Remedy, or by casting Esuna, Dispel, or Basuna. It can also be removed with Black Hole.
A character under the Petrify status will eventually be inflicted with Stone after a period of time.
Like Stone, it is cured with Esuna, a Remedy, or a Gold Needle.
Magnetize prevents characters from acting. This status is removed by unequipping metallic equipment.
Stop[edit | edit source]
The character is incapacitated for a period of time.
The status can be removed with Dispel.
Doom[edit | edit source]
A counter appears, instantly killing the afflicted when it reaches 0. The counter is affected by Haste and Slow, but not Stop.
Sap[edit | edit source]
HP gradually decreases over time. This status will wear off after a short period.
Reflect causes all spells targeting the character to bounce towards a target on the opposing side. It can be removed with Dispel and Black Hole, and wears off over time.
The Null Physical status makes the afflicted character immune to physical damage, causing attacks to miss. It can be removed with Dispel and Black Hole.
[edit | edit source]
This status causes the next two physical attacks to miss. It will promptly wear off afterwards.
It can also be removed with Dispel and Black Hole.
Haste[edit | edit source]
The Haste status causes the afflicted's ATB gauge to fill significantly faster. The status can be removed by casting Dispel or Slow, as well as Black Hole.
Slow[edit | edit source]
The Slow status causes the afflicted's ATB gauge to fill significantly slower. The status can be removed by casting Dispel or Haste.
Protect increases the afflicted's physical defense by 50%. It can be removed with Dispel and Black Hole.

Shell increases the afflicted's magical defense by 50%. It can be removed with Dispel and Black Hole.
The Bubble status doubles max HP.
The Bravery status increases the damage done by physical attacks.
Faith[edit | edit source]
The Faith status increases the damage done by magical attacks.
All healing and damaging effects are reversed. This status is inflicted and removed with Reversal Gas.
Darkness doubles physical damage for a short duration at the cost of 10% of the user's HP for each attack.
This status can be removed with Dispel.
Focus[edit | edit source]
Focus increases the damage of the next physical attack. Its effects can stack up to three times.
