Final Fantasy III Original Sound Version, is the complete soundtrack of the original NES version. It was not the game's first compilation album, having been released a year after the arranged album Final Fantasy III: Eternal Legend of the Wind.

The NES version never made it to western shores, and it was not until the DS version the soundtrack was widely distributed in America and the rest of the world.

The album has been distributed digitally under the name Final Fantasy III Original Soundtrack. The album was remastered and released as tracks 47 to 91 of Final Fantasy I·II·III Original Soundtrack Revivial Disc.

The music of Final Fantasy III was Nobuo Uematsu's twenty-first contribution to the video game industry.
