Just too much to ask to cut me one break, isn't it?

Sazh Katzroy

Enlil is a boss in Final Fantasy XIII, fought alongside Enki by Vanille and Sazh at the Sunleth Waterscape. It is the smaller and weaker of the two woodwraiths, and has a Lightning affinity. "Can't Catch A Break" plays during the battle against Enki and Enlil rather than one of the usual boss themes.

Stats[]

Battle[]

When below 70% health, Enlil will use Bellow to buff itself and remove status ailments. It will enter an Enraged status before releasing its Raging Tempest attack, which deals heavy Lightning damage. This can even damage Enki if it's nearby.

Strategy[]

Vanille's Water spell is of great help against this beast, and Sazh can enhance his guns with the Enwater spell. Water attacks will have no effect on Enki, so the party should target Enlil exclusively until it falls.

A useful tactic is to let Enlil damage Enki with Raging Tempest. In return, Enki will use Raging Torrent to heavily damage Enlil, so one can let the two destroy each other with Raging Torrent and Raging Tempest. When one of the two fall, the player can focus on defeating the last one.
