Granaldo is a Triple Triad card in Final Fantasy VIII used to play the minigame and for turning into items with Quezacotl's Card Mod. Granaldo is the fifty-ninth card in the inventory and the fourth Level 6 card. It depicts the boss Granaldo fought in the Balamb Garden Training Center during the SeeD graduation ball.

Granaldo has middling values, but is good against most NPC players who often don't use any boss cards. Its value placements may also be useful for games that use Same and/or Plus.

Obtain[]

There is a 6.3% chance to get Granaldo when successfully using the Card command on a Death Claw or Blobra.

Any AI Triple Triad player who uses Level 6 cards has a chance of using Granaldo in a play, from where the player can win it in a card match. Examples of players are prisoner in D-District Prison, CC Heart of the Card Club, Grease Monkey in Fishermans Horizon, Cid Kramer, and Laguna Loire. In the end of the game, all CC members besides CC Diamond will play with Level 6 cards when aboard the Ragnarok if the player completed the CC quest before the point of no return.

Card Mod[]

A Granaldo card refines into a G-Returner with Quezacotl's Card Mod ability, which revives a fallen Guardian Force. It can be a good item to have if the player summons a lot, but usually the player will have enough GFs to go around even if some of them fall to not need to revive them.
