Gizamaluk is a dragon/plate wyrm-type enemy from Final Fantasy XII found in the Phase 2 Dig area of the Henne Mines. They sometimes fight with Abysteels in the area and one party will kill the other if the player waits long enough. The player can rarely poach Gizamaluk into the Holy Lance.

Bestiary entry[]

Page 1: Observations[]

Being a variety of plate wyrm, its eyes impaired by eons of living in deep magicite mines. In place of sight, it has discovered the ability to sense tiny eddies and fluctuations in the Mist's flow, allowing it to determine the position of enemies with preternatural accuracy. Its translucent, insect-like wings have atrophied to the point where they may no longer sustain flight, but still its sharp claws and fangs make this wyrm of the deep a foe to be feared.

Stats[]

Battle[]

Gizamaluk has the the highest HP of any regular enemy in the Henne Mines. It wields a range of offensive magic and can also cast buffs on itself. Its Crushing Fangs has a 25% chance to instantly kill the target.

Strategy[]

Gizamaluk is susceptible to many status ailments. Nihopalaoa + Remedy will leave it almost helpless. Alternatively, a character with Indigo Pendant can cast status spells to inflict the statuses one by one without consuming Remedies. Good combinations to apply are Blind and Silence, Confuse and Blind (the player should then use only magic to attack, to avoid removing Confuse) and Immobilize and Silence (the player should then attack with ranged weapons and/or magic).

It has a weakness to ice. However, if Oil is inflicted, then fire attacks will do more damage.
