Mythic Weapons (ミシックウェポン, Mishikkū Wepon?), also known as "The Myriad Arms of Balrahn", are twenty weapons in Final Fantasy XI obtained through the "Arms of Balrahn" series of quests available once a player is promoted to Captain Mercenary Rank. The arms are rare and powerful weapons that were once part of Emperor Balrahn's personal collection.
Mythic Weapons are one of four legendary weapon sets available to players, with the other three being Relic Weapons, Empyrean Weapons and Aeonic Weapons. However, unlike the other three weapon sets where the weapons are divided by weapon type, Mythic Weapons are divided by job.
Each weapon can only be used by one job, and is also associated with a unique weapon skill. These weapon skills do not require equipping Mythic Weapons to use, and can be unlocked separately with the Vigil Weapons that are required to start the Mythic Weapon quest. However, use of these unique weapon skills together with a Mythic Weapon grant special aftermath effects that vary according to each weapon and how much TP the player has when the weapon skill is used.
The aftermath effect is split into 3 levels.
- Level 1: 100-199% TP. 180 second duration
- Level 2: 200-299% TP. 180 second duration
- Level 3: 300% TP. 120 second duration
The initial level of a Mythic Weapon is 75, but various Magian Trials may be undertaken to improve the weapons, capable of being upgraded like the Empyrean Weapon to a final, elevated Level 99 Afterglow form. The Afterglow of all Mythic Weapons is a shimmering azure.

- Of the four legendary weapon sets, Mythic Weapons are the rarest within Final Fantasy XI due to the immense difficulty in acquiring them, requiring extreme amounts of time, effort and/or gil. In addition to this, the stats on the other three weapon sets are comparable or stronger for many jobs, so players seem to prefer those weapons as they are relatively easier to obtain.
