Tetragrammaton is a White Mage job ability from Final Fantasy XIV. Originally added in the Heavensward expansion as one of the strongest healing skills, it instantly restores a large amount of HP to one target.

Obtained[]

Tetragrammaton is a White Mage ability learned at level 60 by completing the quest "Hands of Healing".

Use[]

Restores target's HP.

Description.

When used, Tetragrammaton will instantly restore HP to one target with 700 Cure Potency. The ability serves as the White Mage's second off global cooldown (OGCD) healing ability, having no cast time to perform, but has a cooldown time of 60 seconds to use again.

Due to the ability not being tied to Lilies on the White Mage's job gauge, Tetragrammaton is useful when needing to heal a target for a large sum of HP in a pinch. The move is also a good method when healing tanks doing large enemy pulls in dungeons.

Behind the scenes[]

Change history[]

When the White Mage's Healing Gauge was introduced in Stormblood, the number of Lilies on the job gauge would affect the recast time of Tetragrammaton, having the ability's cooldown being reduced by 5-20%.

Once the player learned the "Secret of the Lily II" class trait at level 70, the ability would have an additional 20% chance of having its recast time reduced by 5 seconds for every Cure and Cure II that healed a party member with critical HP.

These features were removed with the revamp of the Lily system at the launch of the Shadowbringers expansion.

Other appearances[]

Etymology[]

The tetragrammaton (from Greek Τετραγράμματον, meaning "[consisting of] four letters") is the Hebrew theonym יהוה, commonly transliterated into Latin letters as YHWH. It is one of the names of God used in the Hebrew Bible. The name may be derived from a verb that means "to be", "to exist", "to cause to become", or "to come to pass".
