Final Fantasy V description

Mutsunokami (陸奥守, Mutsu-no kami?), also known as Mutsu-no-Kami, Mutsonokami, Sky Render, and Yoshiyuki (吉行), is a recurring weapon in the series. It is often the most powerful katana in each of the games it appears in, though it did not start appearing until the Advance remakes of the earlier games.

Final Fantasy IV[]

Illusionary sword. Casts Blink when used as an item.

Description

The Mutsonokami is the strongest katana, only appearing in the Advance remake, and can only be used by Edge. It has an Attack of 100, Accuracy of 45, and grants +10 Strength and Speed. This weapon is metallic. It casts Blink when used as an item and is found at the Lunar Ruins.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[]

Mutsunokami is the strongest katana. It is found in the chest that is left behind after defeating the Ghost Train in the Depths.

Final Fantasy V[]

The Mutsunokami is the strongest katana in the Advance and 2013 versions, and is found in the Shadowed Gate section of Lethe Court in the Sealed Temple. It has an Attack power of 142 and a 50% of dealing a critical hit. It can only be used by Freelancers and Samurai.

Final Fantasy VI[]

Mysterious katana that sometimes deflects attacks.

Description

The Mutsunokami (originally translated as Sky Render) is the second strongest katana, used only by Cyan. It can drop from Fiend or won by betting the Radiant Lance in the Coliseum. It has an Attack power of 215, increases Evade by 20%, and enables the Bushido and Runic commands.

Final Fantasy VII[]

Yoshiyuki (Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki in Japanese) is a mid-powered weapon for Cloud, and has an Attack power of 56 with two single Materia slots. Its power increases if one or both of the other party members are KO'd; if one party member is dead, the damage is doubled, if both party members are dead, the damage is tripled. The sword is received by gazing at the rocket in the Rocket Town with the old man, and after talking to him again, he will hand over the Yoshiyuki.

Final Fantasy Type-0[]

Jack wields the Mutsunokami. It provides 68 Attack Power and grants a 30% boost to his max HP. It can be bought from the Akademeia Armory after completing "Operation Breakthrough" on Finis difficulty. It can also be obtained in the PSP version by exchanging for 10 tickets on the Square Enix Members site.

Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light[]

The Mutsunokami has an attack of 13 and can be bought in Urbeth for 10,000 gil.

Mutsunokami (FFVI) is a Katana, obtained as the Super Trust Master Reward from Doma Samurai Cyan. It provides 215 ATK, 50% Accuracy, +75% Limit Burst damage, +20% physical evasion (both exclusive to FFVI units), has a damage range of 105-155%, and requires two hands to wield.

Etymology[]

Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki (陸奥守吉行, 1650-1710) was a Japanese swordsmith born in Mutsu Province. His blade was made famous after Sakamoto Ryōma was assassinated and died carrying his favorite blade forged by Yoshiyuki. Yoshiyuki's title was changed to "Tosa Yoshiyuki" (土佐吉行) when he moved to Tosa Province.
