Thunder Slash

Thunder Slash (雷鳴剣, Raimeiken?), is a recurring ability in Final Fantasy. It is a Lightning-elemental attack to one target associated with Steiner and Beatrix.

Final Fantasy IX[]

Thunder Slash is a Sword Art used by Steiner that is supposed to deal Thunder-elemental fractional damage to a target for 24 MP, but due to a glitch, it misses almost every time. Thunder Slash can be learned for 30 AP from the Defender and Ragnarok. Thunder Slash will never work on bosses due to being gravity-type ability, supposed to deal 19% of the enemy's maximum HP as Thunder damage to it. The ability is also part of Beatrix's Seiken command.

Additionally, Steiner can use Thunder Sword when he is paired with Vivi in a party and the latter knows Thunder.
