The Cuphgel, also known as the Cafjel, is an enemy from Final Fantasy III. It is found in the desert on the outer ring of the Floating Continent. In the NES version, they are found on the plains and grassland on the Floating Continent's northwestern edge. They are relatively powerful for a party under level 10, but otherwise are not a huge threat, as they possess no special abilities. A well-trained party with up-to-date equipment easily defeats it with physical attacks while withstanding its attacks.

Etymology[]
The name may be a reference to the archangel Kafziel, also called Qaphsiel, Cassiel, Casziel and other names; Cassiel means "God is my wrath". Known to be the angel of temperance, he is also related to the planet Saturn.
