The Armored Fiend is an enemy in Final Fantasy IV. It can be found in the Lunar Subterrane and the Lair of the Father and gives a large sum of EXP upon defeat. The Armored Fiend is weak against Lightning and may drop an extremely rare Black Tail, which can be taken to the Adamant Isle Grotto for a reward.

Armored Fiend has decently-powerful attacks in conjunction with high HP and defenses. It will counter physical attacks with its own, and use Flamethrower, inflicting Fire-elemental damage to one party member. Beam inflicts high non-elemental damage to one party member, and if used on either Rosa or Rydia, will most likely KO them in one hit. It can also self-destruct, typically after being damaged by magic attacks, which can potentially kill a party member. This will also grant no rewards.
