The Abyss Worm is a boss in the Advance and 2014 Matrix Software versions of Final Fantasy VI. Fought in the Dragons' Den, it is meant to resemble the stronger species introduced in Final Fantasy II.

Stats[]

Battle[]

The Abyss Worm normally uses a standard attack, Acid—a special attack that inflicts sap—Landslide, and 50 Gs followed by Magnitude 8. Due to its low Magic Power, many of these attacks do little damage. It counters attacks with Acid; Shockwave, which does low magical damage to a single target; or Gravity Bomb, which acts similar to the Gravity spell.

The Abyss Worm's HP is only marginally higher than the normal enemies' in the area, and so it should not be much more difficult to defeat. It is immune to elemental damage except for Holy Holy.

Unlike most bosses in the Dragon's Den, Abyss Worm, Earth Eater, Gargantua, Malboro Menace, Dark Behemoth do not drop any ultimate weapons, and they will respawn every time player enters their area.

Strategy[]

Besides the Holy spell, non-elemental spells like Flare and Ultima are most effective.
