Fall of a Hero - Prologue was an event in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. This event ran from February 15 to March 3, 2024, and is a crossover with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Synopsis[]
Part I[]
The Story portion of the first leg of this event is a re-enactment of the events five years ago in Nibelheim as recounted by Cloud in Kalm, present day. Cloud's account spans from his arrival in Nibelheim to the town's destruction by Sephiroth upon the latter's discovery of his own origins. This leg plays as a series of semi-scripted battles with Cloud and Sephiroth in the loadout; and as such, equipment and abilities used by these characters are locked in place.
When completed, players could participate in a freeform battle with the Materia Guardian in Solo and Co-op modes.
Part II[]
The second leg of the event takes place in the present day, after the party has left Kalm. The storyline spans from the grasslands beyond Midgar through the battle with the Turks in the Mythril Mines.

Each battle in this event awarded Planet's Blessings, Planet's Splendors, and Moogle Medals for exchange in the Shop, with increased rewards available in the freeform battles. The featured items were Sephiroth's Ashura katana and Cloud's Igneous Saber broadsword. Both pieces enhance Fire damage, and offer the potential to boost reward drops during the limited events.
Featured draw[]
Coinciding with this event were several special draws, including a Stamp Card draw for Tifa's Guide set and Red XIII's The Hellhound gear. These exclusive weapons and gear cannot be obtained in other draws or missions outside of the event period.
Behind the scenes[]
This event was announced as part of the February 2024 content schedule and was revealed approximately one week prior to its launch. It contains story from a title that, at the time, had yet to be released. A demo of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was published only days before.
All FMV sequences used for this event are voiced in Japanese by their original cast and subtitled in all other languages supported by Ever Crisis.
