The character is pure of thought and at one with the arcane, increasing magick potency. The effect is temporary.
Description
Faith is a status in Final Fantasy XII that increases the target's magick damage and healing, causing offensive spells and motes to deal 30% more damage and healing spells and motes to be 50% more potent. Magick casters under Faith are also 50% more successful in inflicting targets with negative status effects. With Faith, the player also has a better chance of reducing undead enemies to 1 HP with Renew.
Faith is especially useful in the Zodiac versions where the 9999 damage cap has been removed. It is also useful in New Game Minus, though it will wear off faster with low Vitality stat. Faith's physical counterpart is Bravery.
The formula for the duration is:
Abilities[]
| "Auto-Faith" equipment | Wyrmhero Blade |
|---|---|
| Item | Baltoro Seed |
| Spell | Faith (Green [OG] / White Magicks [Zodiac]) |
| Weapon | Rod of Faith |
Equipping the Wyrmhero Blade gives the wielder automatic Faith and Bravery; this may be the preferred use of the weapon for a spellcaster as attacking with the Wyrmhero Blade is slow. Rod of Faith, meanwhile, bestows Faith to those the weapon strikes.
In the original PlayStation 2 version, Stamp can transfer positive statuses as well as negative to any target and thus can be used to bestow Faith when the user has it; this was changed in the Zodiac versions so only ailments can be transferred with Stamp to enemies.
The ally-targeting gambit specifically for this status is called "Ally: status = Faith" and the self-targeting gambit is "Self: status = Faith" (though the ally-targeting gambit also affects self). In the original version, these gambits can be bought for 50 gil after the events at Draklor Laboratory. The basic enemy-targeting gambit is "Foe: status = Faith", which in the original version is purchasable from gambit shops for 50 gil after the boss battle at Mt Bur-Omisace. "Foe: character status = Faith", meanwhile, in the original version is available for 100 gil also after Draklor. In the Zodiac versions, all gambits can be purchased after leaving Nalbina Dungeons; the basic status ones cost 70 gil whereas "Foe: character status = Blind" costs 300 gil.
