Description
The Eye Drops is a status healing item in Final Fantasy IX used to remove Darkness, a status abnormality that lowers physical accuracy. It is a common treasure in Chocobo Hot and Cold. It can also be used in synthesis late into the game to make Topazes.

Eye Drops are sold in shops for 50 gil apiece. They are also a common find while playing Chocobo Hot and Cold; if the player partakes in this quest, they likely never need to buy any Eye Drops, as Darkness is a rare status abnormality to contract.
Eye Drops in Alexandria residence.
There is one Eye Drops to pick up in Alexandria residence in the beginning of the game. There is another at Melda Arch 
accessible from the world map once the plater leaves Evil Forest on foot. Another is found in Dali Underground entrance, across from the hut

Eye Drops can drop from Anemone, Carrion Worm, Dendrobium, Fang, Plant Spider, Ring Leader, Serpion, Yeti, Zaghnol, Zemzelett, Prison Cage, and Mu (Friendly), and can also be stolen from Dendrobium, Dragonfly, Gigan Octopus, Kraken (Crystal World), Ladybug, Myconid, Sand Golem, Seeker Bat, Yeti, and Plant Brain.

Eye Drops are used to remove Darkness status. This may be useful in the battles against Dendrobium, Plant Brain, Myconid, Ring Leader, Yeti, Seeker Bat, Malboro, Gigan Octopus, Kraken, and Kraken (Crystal). The superbosses and the final boss may also give Darkness, but the player is better off using support abilities to avoid contracting status abnormalities in these instances rather than heal them mid-battle.
An Eye Drops can be used in synthesis with an Ore to produce a Topaz.
