Kamuy, often rendered as Kamui, is the word for a spiritual or divine being in Ainu mythology. Kanna Kamuy is one such being, that of thunder and lightning, and is said to have accompanied Kamuy-huci, the goddess of the hearth, as she descended from the heavens.
