Götterdämmerung (lit. "Twilight of the Gods") is old German for the Old Norse word ragnarǫk. Additionally, Götterdämmerung was the name of the final opera of Der Ring des Nibelungen (the Ring of the Nibelung), a modern (at the time) retelling of the tale of Ragnarök.
