Template:FFX Enemies The Espada is an enemy in Final Fantasy X, which can be bred in the Monster Arena by catching at least one of each fiend in Macalania. Unlocking it will get the party 60 Shining Gems. Before fighting the Espada, everyone must have Instant Death immunity equipped on their armor.

In battle, Espada begins with Regen and counters physical attacks with Hades Claw, which causes Death and Poison. There's a high chance that it will use it three times in a row, making it possible for it to wipe out the entire party with no trouble. However, like most Area Conquest monsters, it is quite easy if the player has the Celestial Weapons.

Etymology

"Espada" is Spanish and Portuguese for "sword", referencing the blades on its limbs.
