Escort Guard is the male counterpart to the Minerva Band, providing four elemental immunities with moderate defenses. However, the elemental immunities at the stage of the game where the Escort Guard is obtained are not of much value, as Poison is rarely used outside of Jenova∙SYNTHESIS, Water is a rare element, and both Lightning and Earth are not used as much outside of the final boss fight. If the player has obtained the Ziedrich or Mystile, it is advised to use them instead of the Escort Guard.
