Erik is an old Midlander hyur with glasses and a white robe.

Erik often treats his assistants like they're uneducated, especially Widargelt, thinking he's more brawn than brain.
Story[edit | edit source]
Erik seeks to study the abundance of aether at the many battlefields of Eorzea. As this is a means of opening a chakra for the monks of the Fist of Rhalgr, Widargelt Beake (and in the process, the Adventurer) assist him with his research.
Once Widargelt and the Warrior of Light begin to awaken new chakra, Erik helps research the phenomenon. Professor Erik explains that the Fist of Rhalgr was once formed by two distinct sects; one of light and one of shadow. Members of the two sects once faced each other in a single combat to open all fourteen chakras. After the explanation, Erik tries to find a method for Widargelt and O'tchakha to open their final chakra without bloodshed. Due to the threat of H'raha Tia, there was no time to complete the research.
After a man dressed as the Griffin claims that he is Theobald, the son of King Theodoric and that Widargelt is actually his cousin Theodred, Erik investigates the veracity of these claims. The professor postulates that his minions are members of the Corpse Brigade─elite soldiers trained in combat against monk, who once served Theodoric as his personal guard. After his investigations. Erik through a story about his dead son, Erik teaches Widargelt that a man is not defined by his blood, but by the choices he makes. Then Erik reveals his suspicion that Theobald is actually Adri.
Erik is captured by Hewerald and is used as bait to lure the Warrior of Light into a trap. Widargelt and his disciples show up and defeat the sentries posted around the forest. Later when Adri is defeated, Erik expresses his gratitude to the Warrior of Light for helping Widargelt overcome adversity.
