Its attacks and HP are weak for the point in the game it is fought at, and it can be killed easily. His Acid Rain attack always inflicts Poison and is uses it on the character in the party with the highest current HP.

Strategy
Epiolnis is not immune to Frog and Small. By the time it is encountered the player should have Bad Breath in their Enemy Skill Materia, which renders Epiolnis harmless until a Wizard Bracelet can be stolen from it.
