I joined the Crystal Braves in the hopes of following in the footsteps of the Warrior of Light, and I do not regret the decision─not even for a moment!

Ephemie Giphelmont.

Ephemie Giphelmont is a non-playable character from Final Fantasy XIV. She is a former member of the Order of the Twin Adder who joined the Crystal Braves, and eventually becoming a member of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.

History[]

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn[]

Ephemie once served the Order of the Twin Adder. However, tales of the Warrior of Light's derring-do lured her to the Crystal Braves, where she joined the 2nd unit.[1] To Ephemie's surprise, the Warrior of Light themselves handed over her Crystal Braves uniform.[2]

During the investigation into Eline Roaille, the Flame Marshal of the Immortal Flames who is suspected of being a Garlean spy, Ilberd Feare and the Warrior of Light followed her to the Carline Canopy where Ephemie was stationed. The Warrior of Light asked Ephemie about Roaille's whereabouts, but she said she didn't see anyone who looked like her climbing aboard the airship.[3]

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward[]

After Ilberd's betrayal, Ephemie was imprisoned to the Rising Stones, along with Alianne, Riol, Aergmhus, and others Braves still loyal to the Scions. Yuyuhase ordered the 3rd unit to keep them under constant guard, but when the Ilberd moved to carry out General Raubahn's execution, they were forced to withdraw all but a small force that the trapped group managed to attack by surprise and ensure their escape.[4]

Many of her compatriots in the unit came from Grand Companies, and unto Grand Companies they returned when the Crystal Braves were disbanded. Ephemie, however, stayed on with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, firm in her conviction that they can provide better protection to the realm than any large organization staunched in politics and bureaucracy.[1]

Ephemie remained at the Rising Stones where she took on the responsibility of helping Tataru manage communications with various organizations and with members of the Scions in the field.[5]

Ephemie at Camp Broken Glass.

After the Scions of the Seventh Dawn disbanded, Ephemie considered returning to the Adders' Nest but decided that she should continue her journey and venture into Garlemald.[6] Ephemie traveled to Camp Broken Glass where she shared with the Garleans the Wandering Minstrel's songs about the epic tales of the Warrior of Light, and in return the Garleans shared stories of Emperor Solus and the assassin of legend.[5]

She apparently indulges her love of poetry by frequenting the Seventh Heaven and listening to foreign minstrels sing of the Warrior of Light.[1]
