Troopers belonging to Shinra's Public Security Division. The rollers on their feet enable them to run circles around their targets. As they are some of the most elite troopers in the military, they are tasked with guarding Shinra's HQ.
Enemy details
The Enhanced Shock Trooper is an enemy in Final Fantasy VII Remake and "Episode INTERmission". They are agile and elusive combatants of the Shinra special troops that go into battle after their armor sustains enough damage. They are fought in Shinra Building 65F during "Operation: Save Aerith", and in "Episode INTERmission's" Materia Research Facility in "The Hunt Continues", if the player took too long to defeat the Armored Shock Troopers.
When the Armored Shock Trooper (Defense) unit in the Fort Condor minigame in "Episode INTERmission" is defeated, it spawns an elite shock trooper unit.

Battle[]
The Enhanced Shock Trooper is considered the "second form" the Armored Shock Trooper, ejecting himself from the armor after it sustains enough damage. He is fast, darting around the battlefield with his roller-skates, making difficult to pin down.
While his stats are not very high, most notably his physical defense, which is his lowest stat, he actually boasts formidable magic defense, plus natural resistance to magical attacks.
The Enhanced Shock Trooper will use spin attacks while dashing through, as well the Twister ability, where he'll rapidly spin in place, forming a tornado around him and slowly pulling his opponents towards him, inflicting heavy damage should it happen.
Hard mode[]
On the hard difficulty, the Enhanced Shock Trooper will move more often, and will be overall more aggressive.
Strategy[]
Despite being a human-type enemy and his Assess information suggesting hitting him with Fire attacks, he's not naturally weak to fire; it only fills his stagger gauge faster. His high magic defense and resistance to magic makes using magical attacks not very effective.
Abilities that can track opponents, such as Barret's Focused Shot and Maximum Fury, as well Thunder and Aero magic, can effectively stop the Enhanced Shock Trooper. When he is dashing around and attacking, Cloud can stop him with a counter-attack while in Punisher Mode.
If Enhanced Shock Trooper uses Twister, it is recommended to run away from him. While he is vulnerable in this state, it is difficult to interrupt this ability.
Perhaps the simplest way of dealing with the Enhanced Shock Trooper is to avoid them altogether. With enough focused damage is possible to destroy the Armored Shock Trooper before he uses Eject, preventing the Enhanced Shock Trooper from taking the field.
Episode INTERmission[]
Yuffie and Sonon can synergize and focus on the shock trooper with physical attacks.

Etymology[]
Shock troops are formations created to lead an attack. "Shock troop" is a calque, a loose translation of the German word Stoßtrupp. Military units which contain assault troops are typically organized for mobility with the intention that they will penetrate through enemy defences and attack into the enemy's vulnerable rear areas.
