Troopers belonging to Shinra's Public Security who have been assigned security detail for Advanced Weaponry. They taunt and confuse their enemies with high-speed movement and frenzied magic attacks.
Enemy Intel
Enhanced Magitrooper is an enemy in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, in the "Episode INTERmission" DLC. They are magically enhanced members of Shinra Public Security Forces, emerging from the Armored Magitrooper after they use Eject when in low health. If the player destroys the Armored Magitrooper before they can use Eject, they can avoid fighting the Enhanced Magitrooper; however, for Enemy Intel completion, it is worth fighting at least one of them and assessing him. They are first fought in Shinra Building's Advanced Weaponry's maintenance facility in "The Scent of Materia" of Chapter 2, "Covert Ops".
Enhanced Magitroopers are much less durable than their armored predecessor. Using Fire Ninjutsu, throwing Yuffie's weapon, and synergizing with Sonon and then attacking with ninjutsu and synergized ATB abilities defeats him quickly.
Stats[]
Being a DLC-exclusive enemy, the stats are not listed in the official guide book, and thus are unknown.
Battle[]
The Enhanced Magitrooper is a variation of the Enhanced Shock Trooper who employs magical attacks. He is considered the "second form" the Armored Magitrooper, ejecting himself from the suit of armor after it sustains enough damage. He is fast, darting around the battlefield with his roller-skates, making him difficult to pin down.
The Enhanced Magitrooper is far less aggressive than his melee-oriented counterpart, however, he can zone his foes with Mana-Mines, small energy fields laid on the ground the explode on contact, launching characters in the air. While moving, he will use energy shots to keep the player at bay, and also the Scatter Shot ability, where he'll rapidly spin in place and launch a salvo of energy spheres around the battlefield.
Unlike most of the human enemies, the Enhanced Magitrooper is not weak to Fire.
Strategy[]
The Enhanced Magitrooper can be easily stopped with magic attacks and constant attacks. Yuffie's can Throw into Windstorm while Sonon can use Synergy Materia paired with any offensive Magic Materia, such as Fire Materia or Wind Materia.
When the Enhanced Magitrooper starts using Mana-Mines, it is recommended to move away from it, while being careful with the lock-on to not step on a mine accidentally. His Scatter Shot is far less dangerous than the Enhanced Shock Trooper's Twister; the player can use an offensive ability or spell while he is spinning to quickly interrupt it.
Hard Mode[]
On the hard difficulty, the Enhanced Magitrooper will move more often, and will be overall more aggressive with Mana-Mine.
