Final Fantasy Wiki

Single slot. Enemy Lure is an Independent Materia in Final Fantasy VII. When equipped, it increases the rate of random encounters on the map based on the Materia's level. Enemy Lure is the counterpart to Enemy Away, which has the opposite effect.

Enemy Lure can be purchased at the Battle Square in the Gold Saucer in exchange for BP. It costs 5120 BP before the Tiny Bronco is obtained, 800 afterwards, and 250 after the Highwind is obtained.

Level AP required Effect
1 0 Increases random encounter rate by 43.75%.
2 10000 Increases random encounter rate by 87.5%.
3 50000 MASTER

Enemy Lure increases the random encounter rate by either 43.75% or 87.5% depending on the Materia's level. This effect stacks with multiple Enemy Lure Materia up to 200%. On the world map, the encounter rate is doubled if it is greater than 100%, granting a maximum possible encounter rate of 400%.

Enemy Lure can be equipped to aid in encountering Chocobos more quickly, when level grinding, or when searching for a specific enemy. Otherwise, Enemy Lure simply increases danger.

Equipping Enemy Lure reduces Luck by 1. This is a small change, but is yet another reason to unequip the Materia when not grinding.
