Emerick is a non-playable character in Final Fantasy XIV. He was a minor antagonist in Limsa Lominsa's Main Scenario Quest in original version 1.0.

History[]

Emerick is initially seen by the adventurer watching Mannskoen announce that vacancies for the Seal Rock Unit have been filled. Once the adventurer escorts Sisipu to the Oschon's Torch lighthouse, they come across several dead bodies and discover Emerick and Travanchet talking in secret. Emerick talks about an agreement he wants to make with the Sahagin. When the pair realizes that they have been spotted by the adventurer, they both pretend to be mere pullers and leave.[1]

During the Sahagin attack in Brookhaven, Sisipu witnessed Emerick talking to a Sahagin. Subsequently, the Seal Rock expedition was intercepted by Sahagins and while the battle was taking place, a Kraken's Arm ship took advantage of the situation and managed to reach Seal Rock and collect the island's treasure. Believing that Emerick is a traitor who conspired with the Sahagin, Sthalmann and the Barracudas invade Astalicia and capture Emerick.[2]

After Rhoswen and his henchmen invaded Mealvaan's Gate in an unsuccessful attempt to locate Emerick, Baderon provides information on Emerick's whereabouts saying the pirate was being held in one of the Knights of Barracuda galleons. With Hob's help, the adventurer enters the galleon and finds Emerick confined in a room. Merodaulyn appears at the scene and stages a confrontation against Emerick. Y'shtola arrives and asks Emerick about the whereabouts of Seal Rock's "key" and he claims it was thrown overboard. Sahagin ships reach the Barracudas fleet and a sea battle ensues. In the climax of the battle, a giant snake appears again causing a wave to engulf the ship.[3]

In another view of the echo, the adventurer discovers that Sthalmann, Merodaulyn and Emerick were conspiring together to claim the Seal Rock treasure for their own gain.[3]
